  • PLEASE NOTE: This is not a tech channel, but simply a show-and-tell. It is not designed to give advice and support on vacuum tube amplifiers but to show what I get up to each week in the workshop.
I deliberately keep tech talk to a minimum, or at least to a point where it’s understandable to the casual viewer. There are other channels more suited to that level of detail.
I do not do reviews, either paid or unpaid. My opinions are entirely my own and do not represent those of others.
All comments are welcome but those deemed unhelpful, rude, inappropriate, or unsavoury will be reviewed and possibly censored.

Thanks for the videos, I'm really enjoying them. I enjoy seeing the business side of things as well as the techy stuff. I must say your workshop seems to be very tidy. Perhaps a quick tour of how you store components etc. as I'm always looking for better ways to organize my workshop as its a lot smaller than yours :-)

Why is this thing built like a 1936 wireless receiver?

Because back in the day, that's how they were built, modern PCBs did not exist back then, it was only in about 1956 that PCBs started being used to build electronic equipment, also, Leo Fender used eyelet boards in his amplifiers because he was a frugal guy and was always looking for ways to cut manufacturing costs, the main advantage with eyelet boards is ease of serviceability, you simply unsolder the faulty component and solder the replacement in, no endless board-flipping like you have to do with modern PCBs.

It’s not on the back of the pots, it’s floated above, and I think it looks great 👍

You should have shown us the amp repair, instead of skipping straight to the " Here it is already to go " 🙄🙄🙄
