- PLEASE NOTE: This is not a tech channel, but simply a show-and-tell. It is not designed to give advice and support on vacuum tube amplifiers but to show what I get up to each week in the workshop.
I deliberately keep tech talk to a minimum, or at least to a point where it’s understandable to the casual viewer. There are other channels more suited to that level of detail.
I do not do reviews, either paid or unpaid. My opinions are entirely my own and do not represent those of others.
All comments are welcome but those deemed unhelpful, rude, inappropriate, or unsavoury will be reviewed and possibly censored.

I never realised that the standby switch was such a hot topic!
Now I'm unsure whether to use mine or not?! 🤔😂
Race cars and amps! Uk uncle Doug ! Love the vids. Thanks for sharing knowledge
Ahhhh! The WEM Dominator: the sound of my first “bedroom” band in the early 70s.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my standby switch question. I’d already watched three different TH-cam videos on the subject and got 3 different answers. As for looking at forums, boy are some of the users “passionate” on the subject 😀
Wow, that WEM amp has chime...........
2nd Question - for a Wednesday Q&A - What are the pros & cons of using a variac/rheostat on an amp, thinking of cathode stripping and other "stuff", thanks.
Follow-on questiopn form the can-cap discussion: why use a, presumably, relatively expensive multi-section, can cap rather than single caps?
could you explain and/or show how you mark and drill out the power transformer holes on the chassis. just wondering whats involved in doing that compared to the valve sockets that are round. I'd imagine getting nice straight lines requires a different set of tools to do the job cleanly?
Awesome lovel me some tech talk, Thanks Chris!
Great stuff, love your channel.
Great video….what are the film caps you are using in the ‘57 reissue ltd edition..? They look like Panasonic film caps..?
Yes, they are Panasonics. My favourite!
@@RiftAmps My favorite too…cheers..!
What 15" speaker is in the WEM Chris?
Celestion G15M :)
