Thank you for this side-by-side comparison on all of them! It has been a very journey for your honest opinions.
To my surprise, I might need to research more on the Sojourner series. I like how it is the slim profile of the TC but has a leg up on the original by having multiple insert bands.
It looks like a really thick piece of leather that is very sturdy.
Again, thank you for your videos! They have been a great help.

      Thank you, much appreciated!
The Sojourner is definitely a very nice option, and they have an option to have a lined interior, which is nice, and they offer great leather inserts. It's definitely a thin profile and light weight. Having gotten Dallas (Sturdy) it was less sturdy than the OG Traveler's Company (Midori) but I wouldn't say it was floppy either.
Let us know what you end up getting and how you like it!

This was great! I'm a writer and I already have the Robrasim passport notebook. It's my first this size and I went with the most economical to see if I liked it. And I do, but now I want something better. After watching this wonderful video, I think I'll go with the Galen leather but I have a couple questions. What are and where did you get your inserts and do you use or need a writing board?

Thank you very much! I began with the Traveler's Notebook Inserts, and I got them from Jetpens.com
I like them, and I still use the Calendar Inserts from them. As far as the general inserts I use, I've branched out and been more pleased with some other offerings like Yamamoto, which is also available on Jetpens.com. I enjoy the dot grid, the paper quality, and the beautiful designed and waxed covers from Yamamoto.

As far as a pencil board. I keep two in my TN, and there are times I could even use three! But it's really not really Necessary for everyone, it depends on what suits you. The main use for a pencil board in my TN is to rest my hand on while writing with a fountain pen, which keeps hand oils off the page. However, the pages being as small as they we could probably get away with not using it for this purpose. Secondly, I use a pencil board in a more traditional way, which is under my page, I really only do this when I'm using alot of ink on my page- ink swatching, or watercoloring (in affect). It keeps the mositure from warping the next page. Finally, I use a pencilboard to prop up the notebook insert that I am currently working in from the recess between other notebooks so I have a perfectly flush surface. This is rather difficult to explain, I shared this tip in my 2024 Set Up Video. You'll want to use a fairly ridgit pencil board or even a small 6" ruler. Enjoy & have fun with your TN!

What an amazing comparison! Thank you so much! Just ordered a Travelers Company Olive passport notebook. But if I decide on a second one - it will be Galen Leather! Thanks again! Great job! Very thorough!

I love the way the September Leather is put together. I love the spine, but I hate the “freckling”. My passport didn’t come that way, but my b6 did. I added Angelus Shoe Wax Polish in Red to mine (the b6). And I thought I totally ruined it. I had to rub n buff it a ton so I don’t recommend that but at least I love the color now and I use it all the time!
If u like pockets in your tn, like to use several inserts, and your other options are more than you are willing to spend, I totally recommend! And it’s so inexpensive I am not afraid to toss it around. Plus scratches buff out pretty well. I’ve had my passport for a year at least. I received my b6 in July of this year and have carried it with me almost everyday since. I take my b6 to the office and have received several comments on how nice it is and how pretty the color is (w the red shoe wax polish).

Very well said, thanks! I used Galen Leather Balm on my freckled passport and it turned out great! Richened it up and the freckles are way less noticeable, still very soft.
How are yours holding up after a year of use? I get the impression the leather and build quality are very good.

@@fountainPENdulum you can definitely tell it’s been loved, like there are sone scratches and it doesn’t look as stiff but it’s super cute and functional and well made in my opinion. Especially since this particular tn does not get babied. She’s tough! It looks great!

I’ll bet a longer hair tie would work for the passport size.

The economy-priced one might be bonded leather - sort of the Pringles of the leather world.
