This G-E canister's series was called 'Swivel-Top' with a design that allowed the cleaner to be placed in the center of a room while the swivel top rotated; minimizing the need of relocating the cleaner during cleaning. It was manufactured from 1952-72 in the U.S., then for another decade or so by its subsidiary, Premier, after G-E shuttered its vacuum cleaner factory. I believe the Canadian G-E factory closed in 1984. Your model VC24A appears to be what was called a 'low boy', a shorter cleaner with a single fan motor and no exhaust receptacle for blowing. Nice little machine and attractive harvest gold and white color combo. Thanks for posting.
