The gossip of the townspeople nearly destroyed Julian'a life. Gossip is equivalent to murder they really butchered this poor man's reputation based upon a physical abnormality that he himself could not control, but was born with. His physical appearance made the townspeople feel that they were justified in labeling him a "Monster". In turn he was a talented and gifted sculpture who won the heart of a lonely woman - whom at one point was blind - but given the opportunity to see the love of her life🌹
I love the speech Scotty makes at the end. I also loved it when he blew apart Ridley's testimony. "I'm the man who you just testified, under oath, reached out...REACHED...OUT Ridley, and grabbed you. I'm paralyzed from the neck down. It couldn't have happened that way. It didn't happen that way. You were lying just now, weren't you? Weren't you?"
I like the speech two because I have love I almost lost like 8 times because I am stubborn I think my husband is going to leave and betray me because I hurt and burn so.many times. I do want to stop be so stubborn because he is giving I don't know what to.do about it because I am not getting enough of the world. Like Julian said too Rachel saw for he is with the birthmarks on his face so is husband narinder too with my acme scars too it is just my body disfigurement and Julian had too the birthmarks on his face that isnonly he could see. Rachel saw the beauty in him bit I can't let my husband the beauty in me too
That was the good thing about this show at the time in the sense that it made people look inside themselves and question their inner conscience to bring about change, and if that in itself can be achieved primarily by a television show. You are certainly then on the right path or a positive path in getting across your message of hope to a larger audience.
I would not want to live in a town that looked upon a nice young man with a simple wine stain birthmark as a monster. FYI that stain was just makeup on actor Jeff Kober. Love this series. This stuff is what great shows were all about, not like the trash on tv now.

Honestly, the worst thing Mrs. Bradley did was to keep her son locked in the house. She may think she's protecting him from humiliation, but she's not. The whole episode has confirmed that. She should have let him live a normal life. Would there be folks who would humiliate him on account of his birthmark? Yes, of course. But would there be people who would look past his disfigurement and like him for who he is on the inside? Yes. And hey, if he had a normal childhood with good friends who genuinely liked him, he would not even be considered a monster. I think it's funny when she says "call my son a monster." Lady, they are already doing that! She probably made the whole situation worse for him by keeping him in the house. Knowing there was someone with a facial deformity in an old house, the people would naturally make talk about a monster living in a house. And when she says the house is the only place that is pain-free, it sounds so ironic after she smacks him. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if she actually does believe him to be a monster. When I see the look on Julian's face before he adamantly says he is not a monster, it looks like he's thinking, "Mother, do you believe I really am a monster?" Honestly, how could anyone call someone as sweet and kind as Julian a monster? And his mother, of all people, should see that! She's treating him like some frightful freak that should be kept away from the public eye for the safety of society.
A birthmark on his face he wanted to see the world until he gave him a makeover like cutting his hair so he could feel beautiful and handsome. Rachel love him any way. His mother slap him and then told the sheriff that wanted to kiss a girl. Kissing isn't dirty it beautiful and magical. He wanted to feel that is why hr ugly cry because Rachel will look at Julian face at his place where be himself. His mother wanted all to herself because she was waterboy him. She was the monster. Huh? There's nothing wrong with Julian's appearance except for a birthmark on part of his face and neck; he resembles Jim Morrison (of the Doors). It's so weird anyone would call him a "monster", people are mean bullies... Highway to Heaven is such a great show and the moral lessons it portrays. Wish there were still shows like this now.

Honestly, the worst thing Mrs. Bradley did was to keep her son locked in the house. She may think she's protecting him from humiliation, but she's not. The whole episode has confirmed that. She should have let him live a normal life. Would there be folks who would humiliate him on account of his birthmark? Yes, of course. But would there be people who would look past his disfigurement and like him for who he is on the inside? Yes. And hey, if he had a normal childhood with good friends who genuinely liked him, he would not even be considered a monster. I think it's funny when she says "call my son a monster." Lady, they are already doing that! She probably made the whole situation worse for him by keeping him in the house. Knowing there was someone with a facial deformity in an old house, the people would naturally make talk about a monster living in a house. And when she says the house is the only place that is pain-free, it sounds so ironic after she smacks him.
In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if she actually does believe him to be a monster. When I see the look on Julian's face before he adamantly says he is not a monster, it looks like he's thinking, "Mother, do you believe I really am a monster?"
Honestly, how could anyone call someone as sweet and kind as Julian a monster? And his mother, of all people, should see that! She's treating him like some frightful freak that should be kept away from the public eye for the safety of society.

Huh? There's nothing wrong with Julian's appearance except for a birthmark on part of his face and neck; he resembles Jim Morrison (of the Doors). It's so weird anyone would call him a "monster", people are mean bullies... Highway to Heaven is such a great show and the moral lessons it portrays. Wish there were still shows like this now.
