All the theory of this seems super sound honestly. The fact that Despia is so prevalent just isn't really an issue in my area since it doesn't seem to ever do well so this is deffo something I'll probably try out after nationals
It's only not doing well because everyone is playing against it. 3 d barrier, 3 ash, stuff like that. I play despia and im drawing good hands, but the side decks cards do hurt
@@wild1299 obviously there is anecdotal evidence for how we both see the deck and how it preforms, I think weak despia players honestly are so bad that alot of the time just a veiler on Aluber ends there turn completely and I think the decks alot brickish than people realise especially in a 10 round event compared to Swordsoul, but on the same side the deck us obviously well represented for a reason. Its one of those decks with many micro interactions imo that alot of people miss. And like u say the Side deck just auto beats them if u draw those cards. Its A weird one honestly
@@T.D.B-TheDeckBuilder yeah. I dont believe despia is the best deck of the format tbh. It would be if d barrier didnt exist. Most despia decks now are focusing on drawing albaz and fusing with it rather than solely relying on branded fusion, which is really good. The allure package is also great with it to see more cards. I do think there are some unnecessary cards that people are playing though, including myself. Springans kitt is pretty lackluster, branded lost is ok at best. Mercourier is only good if you can banish it with allure to search albion to then send branded sword to draw and then banish branded sword for that whole thing.
@@wild1299 yah see this was my impression when testing the build with things like kit and Mercourier, allure is good, but your playing so many suboptimal cards that half the time you draw them and your sitting there with hands of mercurior, Edge imp chain and Poly and just thinking well if they have any kind of play I literally lose. I think the frightful stuff is very strong but your adding so much extra variance.
Think its probably better to just go pure bread and butter mid range honestly, play hand traps and just focus on albaz control like u say. There's so many bad 1 off imo, and that's not including the elephant in the room of playing Poly as well.
It's a very very strange format honestly. Like In my experience I think Swordsoul dominates Despia, but people say the opposite, but this is again anecdotal evidence from my own testing circle. Which is why I'm honestly just feel totally unprepared for nats myself. The formats so weird.

I love Farfa profiles. I always feel like I really get the deck after watching, whereas many profiles I see don't teach me much about the pile of cards I just saw. And Farfa's even quick to boot!
BA is the reason why Duelist Alliance is still THE BEST set in Yugioh's history.

This is true actually, I just double checked it on the OCG database since it doesn't seem to concern a difference in ruling between TCG and OCG, and they confirm that it doesn't directly affect a monster, similar to the way mystic mine doesn't affect monsters directly

I really like Farfa’s deck theory. It’s a mindset you need to adopt for modernizing old decks. It’s a mindset I took on with Raidraptor where you want to get your plays off even at the cost of lowering the deck’s ceiling.
May I ask what version of RR you are playing? Ive been trying to get the deck working for a while now, but with the lack of support and it being super vulnerable to hand traps I have just given up.
@@ddeine_ imma be honest with you. The deck desperately needs more in archtype support in the shape of a starter that doesn’t involve too much commitment.
I’ve been using dumb stuff like photon thrasher, Evilswarm, dangers, etc. Basically gutting the deck of actual RRs. I even had thunderbird in just to go into the Link Monster using it.
This deck should just be played on a controlled setting because the ceiling is high and once it at least gets off turn 1 it does start to outgrind it’s opponents.
@@bijuutamer729 Yeah I agree, most of the RR monsters just special summon themselves and don’t go plus like basically every other archetype nowadays. It pains me so much to not be able to play it like its supposed to using all the awesome extra deck monsters. I love them so much. Your approach of running a Rank 4 spam variant is very interesting. Is there a way u could share your decklist?

Interesting you arent playing the d/d/d machinex and darius package in the extra deck, it comes up so much for me its insane, it allows me to make a zeus for four quite often going second since people dont even know the card exist and gives you an actual play into stuff like rivalry
And darius is also a very decent monster, being "zenmaines" but agressive

Love this deck. Still take it to locals all the time but it needs an in-archetype starter and possibly a link-1. Tour Guide and Rhino have almost become bricks when you draw in to them at this point.
I didn’t read Organism right until 5:55 when you said it out loud.
Was at the Saturday event, was too nervous to ask for autograph, hopefully can try next time.
I started playing Rubic in my phantom knight BA list because it enables the halq dagda play which is insane on its own, but my usual end board is Apollousa for three, Halq, Rusty, double fog blade, and a scythe with the wonder magician and Baronne in extra deck.
Damn, those old cards are getting better and better in this format.

Who as already try the D/D/D package (D/D/D darius + D/D/D deus machinex) ? The idea is that the I:P line is only good because it's a 2 card combo beatrice (graff/Cir/rhino + any BA), but it has no follow up if beatrice do not send scarm, because she will have only one material and will usualy send snow, or farfa. You can't otk turn 3 after that if you don't find scarm in your hand or with dante mill. You will mostly start your tuen with unicorn and dante on board, which seems really bad alone.
But there is another 2 cards combos with same cards: makes cherubini, summon one BA (scarm with graff), cherubini send graff or cir, summon an other BA (graff with cir). From that, you can make apollousa for 3, or 2 with I:P but it's weak. You can also keep cherubini on board and make a rank 3. The best one turn 1 was number 75 for a monster negate, but now there is Darius into Machinex, that can take an opponent monster up to 2 times, with 2 BA as material. Also it cannot be destroy by card effect under cherubini. Machinex is weaker than Beatrice, but not that much if beatrice only have 1 material, and this has may more follow up. Finally if graff and cir resolves, and you have a third BA in hand, you can just make Dante into Beatrice here with 2 or 3 materials if you did mill with dante or not. if graff was negated, you can summon the third BA and make machinex.
What do you think ? wich one is better, I:P line or Cherubini line with D/D/D ?
(Also going second, Machinex is 3000 xyz with 3 material, so it makes easy 4 materials Zeus. )

hey I really liked this vid it was cool to see you use ol' faithful again and it got me thinking about what burning abyss would need to be competitive again (which I know would never happen) I mean I know it won't see support for a long time if ever again but still I love to hear your opinion because you know you are the Burning Abyss guy and you are pretty good at the game and a judge and it would also be interesting because it really would show how the meta game has developed and changed from when Burning Abyss was good in a fun way idk maybe it is a bad vid idea but it might be cool

Is there a reason for not running evenly matched in the side? I feel like it destroys despia, and sword soul going second, which is is what you want.
It doesn't destroy despia because they have 2 monsters on board and branded in red plays around it
The Despia would just use branded in red to summon Masquerade, and in new chain link Ad Lib summon the banished Mirrorjade, so you're in main phase 2 vs Masquerade (that you can't battle anymore) + Mirrorjade. Really don't side Evenly vs Despia.
You're better off siding in dd crows against despia tbh, that lets you check the branded in red, the Albion, the snow, the ad lib... Lots of their power cards essentially

I’m glad people are starting to see the value of Borrelsword again. I feel like everyone besides me forgot about him the second Accesscode came out. They’re both good, but they’re definitely not as interchangeable as people make them out to be. I’ve lost so many games from making Accesscode over Borrelsword.
I typically go into Accesscode first for spot removal, then close with Borrel, but there are times where Borrel is auto win on follow up. Both are really good in their own regard

Huh. This is an interesting deck profile. Only thing I could see being an issue is potentially a lack of monster clear. Might wanna swap one of those twin twisters into a raigeki just to be safe. Seems like that would be an optimal ratio.
Playing 1 ofs doesnt make sense, either you want to see the card or you dont. You dont get to control when you draw twisters over raigeki.

My extra deck for BA is almost 1:1 the same as yours except I play Leviair instead of Borrelsword (beefy rank3, fringe interactions with barrier statue, bring back back jack), but the main deck was where I've been testing a lot. I think you can shave down the trap lineup to 12 cards: 3 trap trick, 3 fiend griefing, 3 imperm, 3 dinomischus. In addition, I play 3 Ash Blossom and 3 Forbidden Droplets for going second. This ratio really helps even out going 1st vs 2nd and insulates your plays since you diversify where your interruptions are coming from.

My mate told me about this card around time when despia came out she had been playing much longer then I have so I'm thankful about fact it destroys decks without harming me
