- In this video, Abhi and Niyu explain why Assam floods every year. Assam is home to one of the biggest rivers - Brahmaputra. Tragedy has struck Assam again in the form of torrential rains and flood as around two lakh people in 20 districts have been affected this year, with the hill district of Dima Hasao getting cut off from the rest of the state after landslides snapped rail and road links.
Around 1,97,248 people have been affected by the deluge, with Hojai and Cachar being the worst hit with 78,157 and 51,357 people affected respectively, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) bulletin said.

I from Assam, we are safe here but our neighbours are not safe at all ! Like Dima hasao & Hojai District are wide effected due to this flood, people are bound live in the roof 's of the house, In haflong, the station is under flood water ! Trains are floated way due to flood and mud the scenerio is really scary, roads are widely damaged There are no ways of transportation and communication left in the region, train are not able to travel to Barak valley and only left is through year, there are no internet and electricity in the region, People are facing a lot this time, though flood is very normal in assam but this time it's really devastating ! #sometimesmothernaturecanbebrutal 🇮🇳

Well i am from Assam too.and the flood happens almost every year in Assam and Bihar ,only if one or 2 year missed.
But the issue of retaking mandir from Muslim control is one time solution.
So media can't miss this opportunity to seek justice for a 350 old problem.
Well let the media solve the issue of temples first .anyway they can cover the flood problem next year.

Assam has two major rivers, Brahmaputra and Barak. This year Barak valley (southern most part of Assam) has been hugely affected along with Dima Hasao district. Please give some attention to Barak valley as well.

I'm from tripura, and we really face this problems whenever floods hit Assam. sudden rise in prices of goods and commodities are faced by all the other 6 north eastern states as trading and transportation collapse due to the flood, we really need to take measures to prevent the cause of floods.

I am from Assam, and I am freaking glad you made a video on this major problem because mainstream media always ignores us they never cared and will never care. I hope more and more people are awared of what is happening in Assam rn. Every monsoon it's the same scenery here many villages do not have proper bridges to cross over they face so many problems embankments are not enough to stop the flow of water I really hope these problems will be overcomed one day.

I'm really glad that you have covered this topic . I'm from Assam. The situation here is worsening day by day. I'm thankful that I live in a better place where there is a less impact of the flood. But the loss and the trauma that people in other places are going thru is just so pathetic. The flood has caused havoc 3 times more than the normal period. The Dima Hasao district has seen its worst landslide ever. So many beautiful homes has been washed away by the landslides. The Cachar District has also suffered a lot as well. Its been a week still lots of people are homeless. Really glad that someone has raised their voice over this issue. This needs to get heard. Great abhi and Niyu you raised a good point for the good cause but MANAGING the nature is not a solution, it will destroy the geographical richness of the region. Rather we should MANAGE our way of living in that geographical location. I know ASSAM is stragically every important for India. But BIHAR is the state that also get FLOODED every single year but no one care or even talk about it kyunki BIHAR hai KYA FARAK PADTA HAI right and one more fact bihar mostly gets flood due to DAM water fir v KYA FARAK PADTA HAI. Being from Odisha, I know how much natural disasters effect us...hopefully they find a solution too or some big industrialist finds it profitable to build a dam and generate electricity...but d problem is that they might c it as exploitation because most big industrialists rn't from North East, so if a foreign company or an Indian company not from north east India builds it in collaboration with government then also they might not get profits because people won't allow it

River Brahmaputra is known as Siang in Arunachal Pradesh & it's one of the giant river of A. P. Geographically, it's located in the upperside of Assam & being a Himalayan Region, we've a good numbers of Rivers in here & the count goes above 50-70 or 50-60(approx) & later this all becomes the Tributaries of Brahmaputra which is the sole reason of large volume of the Mighty Brahmaputra... The thing is that being in a Himalayan region, we recieve extensive rainfalls, bcs of which our river sizes double up & flows into assam! & This is also one of the reason for occuring flood in Assam. 🤧 My sincere prayer for the brothers & sisters.of Assam🫂❤️.

We (Assam) faced flood twice this year... One in may and the other in July just within a gap of one month we faced 2 floods and that quiet exhausted us... During floods we had no electricity no internet no drinking water no food.. Literally nothing and we almost stayed in the 1980s generation during this flood days and believe us that's really hard... 🙏🇮🇳💓
Can't really explain in words what some parts of Assam is going through specifically DimaHasao, Halflong, Silchar, Hailakandi etc.

The Modi Government has declared to build India’s second-largest dam on the Brahmaputra river at Yingkiong in Arunachal Pradesh. This will not only serve the irrigation purpose or to generate electricity; they also would act as a mitigation cushion to prevent floods.

@@simonelifestyle1409 it will take time to execute a plan but this government has started a lot off mega projects which they announced so we can hope that the government will build the second largest dam in brahmaputra
At least they said and actually Government is extensively working towards generating more and more electricity from renewable sources but making dam takes years. I am really hopeful that more measures will be taken to safeguard the safety of the people and their resources. Also the current CM of Assam is said to be a pretty good leader
