Hi everyone, Steve here. In this video, I show you step-by-step how to add falling snow to your winter photos with Photoshop. I'm using the new Photoshop 2024 but you can follow along with any recent version. I also show you how to avoid Photoshop performance issues when applying the snow effect to larger images. As always, thanks for watching!

A great little tutorial for me to use with my high school students right before Winter Break!

What a superb tutorial! Your pace, description and steps of how to create falling snow was clear and concise without any annoying music in the background!
Cheers and thanks from Montréal. 🙂

    Thanks for the excellent video.
If more snow can be shown [accumulated one] on the top of the horse & lady's dress it will be more natural. I do not know whether it can be done.

I think that’s too much snow, is there a way to put less “snow”?

You could not add the second snow layer. Or adjust the black slider in the Levels adjustment to hide more of it.

Complicated, but this Photoshop beginner was able to follow all the steps.

Why would my Fill be grayed out? I can't do this technique because I can't do a fill on it...
