To date I’ve made 34 music videos, and they rarely feel like they say the whole truth about a song. There’s always more to say, and it’s usually just outside the music. It’s more in the moments, and that’s how my brain has always processed things - finally, I was able to make something to recreate truly what this song means to me. I cannot wait for you to hear it. This music video was so incredible to watch because it doesn’t paint either of them as “the good guy” or “the bad guy.” It paints them as human. And I know that the song is just going to continue these real human emotions and be very relatable.
I so agree with your comment, when Charlie and Sabrina were happy and in love in one moment, it looked real and then in another moment they were screaming, arguing and yelling at each other and both of them were in tears was also very real, the emotions throughout this short film for me hit home!!! The acting of Charlie and Sabrina were 100/100!!

Okay... as a long-time fan of Charlie Puth, I'm used to his immense musical talent, but I never ever expected him to be this good of an actor?! For years, he was being humble and said he can't act, though THIS masterpiece was made with the legendary Sabrina Carpenter! I am so impressed and I really think this is Charlie's BEST work. So proud and can't wait for "That's Not How This Works."
P.S. The moments where Charlie literally YELLED terrified me... felt so real and we know it came from a personal, dark experience for Charlie. Our hearts are so touched! Love y'all

I remember in 2019 when Charlie went on Wired and he said that he thinks that he's a horrible actor. I hope that he now realizes that he was wrong, because this short film is amazing. Both Charlie and Sabrina are great in this. All love to Charlie and I can't wait for the song to release.

@@TheUniKGaming Charlie and her were both in love, they had great times. But didn't know what happened that made her flirted with someone else (it wasn't shown in the movie). Charlie gradually lost his feeling towards her because of that. He ignored her. He tried to save the relationship by going to couple theraphy with her, but it didn't work. Things got worse. They argued a lot. Charlie was upset with what she did, she was upset with what Charlie did. In her point of view, he couldn't have serious talk with her to talk calmly and together solved these problems. In the end, this relationship couldn't be saved. This short movie is a prequel to That's Not How This Works music video which later will be released 😊.

This short film really speaks more than it seems. It speaks his actual past. We all understood what you went through in the album Charlie. And the songs from that album connected a lot of us with our own past as well. This video really hit hard. Just wanna say thank you for being the best artist out there. You may be underrated but the fans you have are truly very deeply attached to you. Can't wait for the Sabrina version.❤

This was so powerful. my heart oh my god. I love how human and real it feels, doesn't have a hero or a bad guy. just a couple go through the coaster of life. Sabrina was an incredible pick for this, shes mesmerizing to watch, such an incredible actress and musician.
This movie made me feel like I didn't want it to end. I just wanted it to keep going and going and unfold the whole story! Can't wait to hear the music

I’ve watched this a million times, and I notice something new or add more meaning every time. the latest meaning to me is that the charlie playing the tapes is actually a metaphor for charlie’s brain involuntarily playing these memories over and over again and being frustrated with the way things ended, so he becomes upset with both the good and the not so good memories. and the acting was just phenomenal, the happy scenes felt so real and had a childlike innocence to them, only to be interrupted by yelling and anger, making it hurt that much more. and all of this gave us an honest little glimpse into charlie land, so thank u for putting urself out there you are so strong I love you so much

Awesome! you're honestly an actor too! So dope. Just wanted to say thank you for the cool little things you taught me. I'm a disabled vet and was going thru a hard time and took it upon myself to take my music further and to make it more like therapy... and that meant singing. I learned a lot from you and I put up my new jam "Leaking" which is the first song I ever sang on(lyric video on here). I used some harmony techniques you taught me in the first verse. I would love it if you could give it a listen. Much love my man.

I relate so bad to this, my husband passed away during the pandemic, and the house felt like it had a memory in every corner, I couldn't live in it without losing my mind over the fact that he's not there anymore, so I had to move to move on. For some reason this 6 min masterpiece truly depicts how a relationship can take you to the highest of highs, and yet- still leave you with picking up the pieces.
This hit home for me. It will define you ultimately. Whether a scar or beauty mark, moments like those create character and bring life to whatever you’re chasing next. It’s okay to cry to heal and repeat. But I’ve found that one day you will realize that it no longer has control over you, and you will be thankful for who you became because of it.
