Been waiting 8 years for a batman. Own 5 Rolexs - doesn’t count for sh*t. Frustrating when i see things like this - someone got the watch i want and sold it right away.
I totally agree! We can’t turn away a watch being offered to us but at the same time we just want to see watch lovers getting the watch they want. I hope you manage to get yours soon.
That is the way the cookie crumbles I am afraid. Clients sometimes get offered their dream watch at the wrong time and Rolex only allow you 24-48 hours to pay for the watch so often clients can't afford to keep it at that time.
I went through CDG a couple months ago months ago and peeked into the Rolex store’s window. There was an exhibition case up front with the ones you can’t buy, a big empty boutique floor, and a desk in the back with a sales clerk and a customer sitting opposite one another, in a serious conversation. Looked like a police interrogation. Perhaps the most unwelcoming and depressing place in the whole airport.
I just got my first Rolex last week, a DJ 41 with a diamond bezel. Absolutely love it. I bought it pre-owned from a reputable jeweler we have known for years. I may want to get a Day-date or Submariner someday and it seems like buying a new one is going to really tough prospect.
These guys are probably why Rolex tries to weed out the hucksters just trying to flip a watch, but in the process a lot of good buyers get caught up in this
My main registrations are at a UK airport but they are part of the wider group so my spend history from the high street also adds to it. Stock is returning to the high street too - I picked up a GMT Master II from the AD window as I was passing by just one month ago. I know one AD abroad that has over 110 pieces in stock, including multiple platinum Day-Date pieces, full yellow gold GMT on Jubilee etc - the tax savings on those expensive pieces is immense.
Wait list ha I walked into goldsmiths today and picked up a precious metal piece. It's about how you talk to them. The watches over 30k u can buy right away.
Got a 36 mint date just for the wife with no history in 3 weeks . AD asked what I’d like next so I said 41mm Datejust Azzuro blue , got it in 18 months . Then asked what I would like next and I said sub with green bezel , I was put on list of interest and now I’m waiting and I’ll wait as long as it takes and it will come .
Most precious metal watches are far easier to get than a stainless steel sports model. We are selling precious metal pieces under retail price now. Which watch did you buy?
@@swisstimepieces cosmograph daytona. Intense black & champagne oyster. 40mm yellow gold. 2024 if you can get it under retail I'll take another. N a 42 yacht master yellow gold. Will post on me ig in a min. Anything under retail sends a dm ill snap up for sure box n papers.
You can get lucky in airports. I bagged a steel Daytona a few years back! As for AD’s, forget em, the bullshits over. Go grey. Not many models you can’t get now without paying overs.
We have heard mixed reviews around CDG! Some clients have been able to pick up watches like an Oyster Perpetual 41 Green on the spot whereas others have just been turned away with absolutely nothing.
Truly sad that the guy that got it just flipped it for a few k when so many would proudly enjoy and wear that watch for years. Exactly why the stores are "full of models you cannot buy". I hope that's the last dream that he gets fulfilled.
@@davegreen2009 there are UK ADs holding the white swing tag too. It is relatively common for watches to not have them, only really matters with something like a John Mayer, Everose SkyD Blue Dial, Olive Day-Date.
Hey Swiss Timepieces , very good video . I can do better editing in your videos which can help you to get more engagement in your videos . Pls lmk what do you think ?
British travellers don’t get duty free at UK airports any more on luxury goods. Sunak got rid of that joy. If you are not British this might be different.
a buddy works at Rolex...they ship mon/tues.... they have sales cycle from Sun to Sat.... pressured to sell by sat. they have lots of watches in the back... they ship 12-15 watches per delivery; recently Rolly has been shipping 30-40K dollar gold watches...and have it in stock. .... they sell 1-2 million dollars worth a month... yes they have watches... they just don't like your face.... too bad sucka..you don't get one.
really? so if a customer comes in and asks for a watch and he has the money... they wont sell it to him? what if a well known person walks in and asks for the same watch, do they get it?
@marcosmos7478 yup been that way for the last 5 years. 5 years ago you could actually walk in and buy most watches. But after the boom you have to get lucky.
@@Redondo_dom oh wow, that's crazy... makes me not wanna buy a Rolex tbh... i mean i would love one but to wait so long to get one and you're not even guaranteed the one you want is off putting
@@marcosmos7478 yup that's why a lot of people are turned off by them and going to other brands. And in all honestly for the price there are other watch makers that make better watches for the price. You sometimes are only buying the name.
And this is why people can't get a Rolex and now someone is going to have to pay an inflated price for the watch. Some very stupid people out there with more money than sense, in my opinion.

Waiting 18 months for a Submariner Date, no hopes of receiving “THE CALL”…went to Chrono 24, paid a little premium but now I have a NEW & Unworn 2024 126610LN, Box and 5 years warranty card through Rolex!!! No more Rolex list for me!!! and took it to my AD and they had to adjust the bracelet at no cost!!! 🤣🤣🤣
He bought his “dream watch” then sold it to a watch dealer Lol
Timing of purchase isn't always convenient for some people, not everyone has £100k+ in the bank to buy watches whenever they please.
GMT Batman isn’t £100s of thousands though.
Flippers like that don't deserve getting watches at retail.
Riight?!…how many guys out there would kill to get that watch?!?

Got his dream watch and then flipped it.
That twat didn't deserve getting it.
So he did exactly what Rolex doesn’t want. Bought it at retail and sold it to you IE the gray market. What’s the point exactly ?
Also there is no way he got a GMT at an airport.
Totally agree - it's these greedy MF who prevent actual watch people from buying a watch

@@Redondo_dom but he did. Do you think an authorised Rolex AD only ever sells Datejusts?
@swisstimepieces No ADs sell everything just not airport ADs. Airport ADs don't get sports models.

I was in UAE airport and strolled up to Rolex without expectation in 2023, and walked away with an explorer 1 40mm. Felt like I was on cloud 9

Anyone can do that. My AD has a bunch of them sitting.
