  • In this video, Cale and I test coco-apricot wax sent to us from Morouge Canada. We create beautiful salted caramel-scented candles and review the heat throw, melt pool and glass adhesion. We show a burn demo and provide our thoughts, make comparisons between coco-apricot wax vs soy wax and let you know whether we recommend this wax at all.

    A high vanilla content in your fragrance can turn your candle yellow over time and especially when exposed to sunlight. Also try using a straw to stick the wick to the bottom of your vessel. When measuring FO use a toothpick or skewer for the oil to travel down and it won’t drip down the side of your bottle.

    I use coconut soy, and love it! With coconut wax types you don’t need to stir very long… maybe 30 seconds, and I’d heat it up a little more, 210 or so and add fragrance at 200 degrees. Thanks for your videos, always so inspired to keep going!

    I have been working with this wax for several months now. I have learned that the higher the temperature you pour the tops come out nice and smooth. I usually add the fragrance at 200° and pour about 195 Fahrenheit or 190. Great videos good luck with your candles ❤️❤️

      I add the FO @215F and mix for 3 full minutes I then heat my Jars in the oven and pour at 155F
      The heated vessels allow for a slow cooling

    I use the same wax and I found that if you pour slow it will alleviate sink holes and it makes a more even top!

    This wax is the best to work with in my opinion. Love the new vinyl.

    The coco apricot soy is my favorite, woodenwick has the best. I do mix a tiny bit of another wax for my recipe but good choice with the coco apricot.

    Nice! Is the wick too long though? My understanding it should be trimmed to 1/4"

    Love this video!! I just ordered some Coco Soy Wax last week to try to help with the glass adhesion. Can't wait to try it.

      I use coco soy and have pretty good luck with adhesion but I also don’t worry too much about that. The performance of that blend is fantastic.

    Hi Jerika, I love the channel so much. I have learned so much here. I would like to see more soap making videos. Yes, there are lots of those out there. I still like yours. More of a request than a criticism: more soap videos. I did get a logo created from your Fiverr guy.

  • @MarciesWhimsySoaps

    Nice! You should try it out on someone that has sensitivity to candle bases. For example, for me, so far soy bases are the only ones that dont make me feel sick and dizzy. I wonder how this would be.
    Thanks!

    You need to use a temp thermometer before you pour, do you measure your fragrance %. You should a two wicks for such a big candle?

    When they fully sit after pouring do they frost on the top like shoot candles do? If so, how do you get rid of that?

    • @boutchou3539
      @boutchou3539 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coco apricot wax doesnt frost, its a soy thing.

  • @brosiasbrews
    @brosiasbrews 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you find it to be super soft? I used it for wax melts since it said it would be great for that and I can feel it melt under the heat of my finger tips

    • @boutchou3539
      @boutchou3539 ปีที่แล้ว

      This coco apricot wax is not for wax melts at all, only container because its way too soft . C55 tart is for melts 🙂

    • @damikadevaliaobie6225
      @damikadevaliaobie6225 ปีที่แล้ว

      @brosiasbrews it's definitely not for wax melts!! you might like TW-30. i get mine from cali candle supply. you can use a 18% FL for super strong CT and HT. hope this helps!

    Have you used this wax again? I don't see any candles with this wax on your site for sale? It seems a bit more pricey than the other soy waxes.
