Very important scene. The only way Rodrigo can come to terms with Juan's death is by declaring it as a tragedy caused by Rodrigo's lust for power, which corrupted his children. Cesare needed to hear this; his brother was a flawed person but also a victim of circumstance. Cesare & Juan should have been brothers in arms, not enemies.
Goosebumps! One of the best scenes in this series, and probably the best poisoning scene I've ever seen. As Jeremy Irons slumps to the floor it reminds me somewhat of the death of Michael Corleone in Godfather 3, especially with that grey 'spikey' hair! No surprise really when you consider The Godfather is actually based on the Borgias..
*it's not a spoiler if it happened 500 years ago* I just want to believe that someone told Neil Jordan there were 6 quite important years between Juan's and Rodrigo's deaths.
Yes, that's what I'm talking about. But still, it's not a good idea to poison him now, if they will cure him. It will be strange, when they will poison him again and then he will die. That was a good cliffhanger, but bad historical inaccuracy, which they didn't need. I'd be absolutely glad, if they finished season with Cesare released from his vows, picking up sword and becoming Cesare we know from Machiavelli.
*Spoiler* Yes but I believe it's 50/50. Yes he outlive Juan by six years, yet in the end he was poisoned. And I can't see him falling for poison twice after this event.
I doubt they killed off Rodrigo. There is going to be a season 3 and, if i'm not mistaken, a season 4. A lot of important things happen to Cesare that depend on the support of the Papacy in these 6 years, so to kill Rodrigo off would be to screw themselves over.

I can watch this over and over
Cesare's thought: "Father...why must you tell me bullshit?!"
I love this show!!!

And now we have to wait :(
You think that is fake?
Lol it took like 2 mins for the poison to act yet he drank it like 10 seconds after the taster drank it.
He drank only little and he will behave like della Rovere for few days in episode 1 of this season...
