    Best method I've seen so far! Really easy. Thanks for the video! I think pike are an under-rated table fare

      Thanks. Been 10 years since I made that video and that's still my go to method for pike. Happy fishing!

    I like the way you don't waste the belly meat. I see so many guys slice along the white edges of the belly and throw it away instead of just making one cut down the middle of the belly.

      Old video but it still works! I am cleaning up some pike this morning and still use the exact same method over any other. Happy fishing!

    I have to say that is pretty slick, l catch a lot of pike in Canada and have always struggled with getting the y bones out and butchering the fillet.
    I will definitely give your method a try it makes a lot more sense to handle a smaller piece of fish rather than a large piece, better control of the knife and less meat wasted. Thanks for sharing your method.

    Whenever possible, Chill the fish first. That firms it up and makes it easier.

    Cool man, actually probably a little easier working with the smaller pieces instead of the whole fillet. Thanks

    Old video but easiest and best for those graduating from 5 filet method.

    FILL-LAY. NOT. FILL-IT!

    • @banjohappy
      @banjohappy ปีที่แล้ว

      In Canada it's fill-it.

      Lol. And instead of pike we usually just call them “Jack fish” or Jack. And we call our walleye “pickeral”. I know that’s misleading!
      Today I have some Jack in the freezer that is getting a little old so I’m canning it. Just to top up a canning batch I’m needing to add a couple “fill-its” of walleye!
      We call the result canned “Jack-Eye”. 😂😂😂. Happy fishing!

      The fill-it pronunciation is Canadian, at least the first time I heard it that way was when I was at a camp in Canada.
