When she said that other celebrities get worse theories as well as the same as her (that she died and was replaced with a lookalike) my first thought was Paul McCartney from The Beatles. Supposedly he died in late 1966 and was replaced by a lookalike (Billy Shears), and there's 'evidence' if you listen to some of their songs. And I'm sure there's others with the same conspiracy theory about them, just can't think off the top of my head.
I'm 32 and Avril has been my favorite artist since I was 11 years old. Even I noticed a huge change and was super confused about it when the third CD came out. But by comparison with the let me go album verses now Avril. Two totally different people. She grew up a tom boy. Melissa has never been a tom boy. Shes always been super girly.
I think this started in 3rd album when she started wearing pink and girly stuff and acted and speak more girly. Before this she was very tomboy. Everyone can grow and change though but maybe fans suspect she changed like she is another person altogether.
What answers can she give? Whatever she says, there'll be people picking apart her answers and it changes nothing. Whether she's really Avril or really a clone, she's probably tired of this question so now she just laughs it off regardless. I could care less about this theory & whether or not it's true. That said... it was not that she simply 'looked a bit different' that got people's attention. Regarding her face... it was things like scars moving or disappearing... not changes that come w growing up/ aging. Then it was the sudden & drastic change of style... from grungy/ punk attire to all dresses... all the time. Which happened to be the style choice of her stage 'double'. During the same time her voice & singing style was said to change... as well as her writing style & her performance style. Everything about her was different... close... but noticeably different to so many people. That, paired w her personal struggles/ mental health concerns is what sparked the theory & why it was so widespread and believed by so many. It's easy to debunk a thing or two... but when everything seems to be off, it becomes much more difficult to explain things away. In fact... this is the only instance that I can think of where many don't consider it a theory anymore at all... and truly believe it to be fact. I left out a lot... just making the point that this isn't the typical clone theory based solely on appearance like most others. This one has many layers and gets deep... that's the difference and why it isn't so easily dismissed or forgotten.

In her first documentary.. Avril had two star tattoos on her hips (one on each side that were red and black) you could see them clearly when she lifts her arms up and her white tank rises. When she said that other celebrities get worse theories as well as the same as her (that she died and was replaced with a lookalike) my first thought was Paul McCartney from The Beatles. Supposedly he died in late 1966 and was replaced by a lookalike (Billy Shears), and there's 'evidence' if you listen to some of their songs.
And I'm sure there's others with the same conspiracy theory about them, just can't think off the top of my head.
I'm 32 and Avril has been my favorite artist since I was 11 years old. Even I noticed a huge change and was super confused about it when the third CD came out. But by comparison with the let me go album verses now Avril. Two totally different people. She grew up a tom boy. Melissa has never been a tom boy. Shes always been super girly.

I could care less about this theory & whether or not it's true. That said... it was not that she simply 'looked a bit different' that got people's attention. Regarding her face... it was things like scars moving or disappearing... not changes that come w growing up/ aging. Then it was the sudden & drastic change of style... from grungy/ punk attire to all dresses... all the time. Which happened to be the style choice of her stage 'double'. During the same time her voice & singing style was said to change... as well as her writing style & her performance style. Everything about her was different... close... but noticeably different to so many people. That, paired w her personal struggles/ mental health concerns is what sparked the theory & why it was so widespread and believed by so many. It's easy to debunk a thing or two... but when everything seems to be off, it becomes much more difficult to explain things away. In fact... this is the only instance that I can think of where many don't consider it a theory anymore at all... and truly believe it to be fact. I left out a lot... just making the point that this isn't the typical clone theory based solely on appearance like most others. Ppl mature definitely, but she even used to look down on girls like the one she has now become. She was super tomboyish to the point she seemed almost “butch” but now she’s super girly? It’s really odd to go to that extreme. Usually you can see the core of the person still there even if their style and mindset evolves/changes. Idk it seems like a wild conspiracy theory but I really want to know why the huge shift in her overall vibe. Like can she give us some insight on how she changed? I know I don’t have the same style I used to and I have matured but I can explain what caused it. Maybe she can end the conspiracies if she addressed that.
To be fair, this has happened with a bunch of other pop stars. Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera. They all used to talk very different in interviews compared to how they talk now.

I’ve also heard this a LOT; when a rapper (or whomever) goes to jail, some of them get replaced by an AI, as well! MK-Ultra and other forms of mind-control has been another belief for very obvious behavioral changes, voices are different, for example, or lack of emotions in the eyes and things like that, especially if said person has become “problematic” for someone/those in power!
I believe with Avril here, they are alluding to this other woman taking over for the real Avril towards the beginning of her career, (im not sure for what purpose or reason, tbh) as mentioned in the video and top comment! I honestly hadn’t heard the theory about her, tbf. However, it is interesting when there are scars that are no longer there (bc a mole, like they said was missing from the “fake” Avril, could be removed, tattoos, as well, but scars I’m not sure 🤔??
Also, there are people who have such distinctive facial features etc., that makes it very hard to (hypothetically) replicate! Hope this helps a little bit!
