When I first saw this I thought "Wow, that game looks kinda fun!" Now that I play the game myself all I can think when watching it is "Wow, Yahtzee keeps making so many rookie mistakes!" He is the primary reason why I bought the game in the first place, though.
Rofl, no it's not. It's nothing like a VR headset. It's simple gaze tracking on a flat screen. I play Elite on the HTC Vive and it's seriously another world entirely moving your head and physically looking around and being IN the world. "Obnoxious" yeah, because we're all at the fashion show with our gaming PC's. You haven't got a clue what you're even talking about. It's not what you look like from the outside that matters, it's what you feel when you're inside.
+Lim Hubbert. The Saitek X52 HOTaS has been on the market for well over a decade, I got my first one for playing Mech Warrior 4, that's how old they are.
***** Well Frontier(The Developer and Publisher of Elite: Dangerous) worked with Mad Katz(current parent company of Saitek) to optimize their HOTAS flight systems for Elite: Dangerous. Elite: Dangerous is also highly optimized for a few high end gaming keyboard and mouse makers, both the XBox 360 and XBox One controllers, and Occulus Rift.
I've watched a few of these Let's Drown Out vids now and every single one of them has been characterised by playing the game really badly and not doing anything particularly interesting in it either. The conversation seems to be the main point but that hasn't really grabbed me either. Think I'll stick to Zero Punctuation in future.
Yes, the combat ratings on the original game were, in order: Harmless, Mostly Harmless, Poor, Average, Above Average, Competent, Dangerous, Deadly, Elite. Obviously the first two were inspired by The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy.
Blackmongoose well, Yahtzee gave a bullshit rationalization is his latest Portal video explaining how this was overdone and they wanted to eventually discontinue it...
Blackmongoose but that's like theRadBrad quiting TH-cam after saying Let's Plays are overdone. you don't fking stop doing something if you're the best at it, goddamnit yahtzee
It hinged on them being in the same room, and yahtzee moved to America, making that impossible. It'd have been a huge dent in the quality of the show, so rather than let it die a slow death yahtzee ended it just before leaving.
I was laughing when Yahtzee fell for the gold trap, not because he died but because all that pirate got was a tiny bit of scrap from the ship and lots of poop.
I scanned the comments, and how am I the only one pedantic enough to notice that Yahtzee stated at least twice that harmless is more powerful than mostly harmless, when the opposite is obviously true?
+Mr. Big Snake Also he doesn't realize the original Elite came out on BBC Micro, the Spectrum version, as most other basic versions are ports. He also states in the description that this game is a remake, it's not it's actually the 3rd sequel. It goes Elite/Elite Plus, Frontier: Elite II, and Frontier: First Encounters. Edit: Then Elite Dangerous as the fourth instalment , and David Braben is directing the series, he created the original first 3(4 if you count Elite Plus separately from Elite) games with Ian Bell.
+stalrunner I'm not sure how they do it, but I think because he plays single player, rather than multi-player, wiping his save killed his rank. Either that or his kill to death ratio dropped too low. I'm not entirely certain how ranks work in Elite Dangerous.
Jonathan Lewis Yes but it's pretty pointless because you don't just stop, you fall out of warp. So if you're trying to chase a signal source and you don't happen to disengage within 1000 km of the target (which you probably won't), you'll have to accelerate all the way to warp again to find it. It's better to overshoot and turn around.
gogerychwyrndrobwll well, if there is a player pirate following you, you can do an emergency FSD shutdown to lose him and then jump to another system to escape before he has time to turn around and slow down to drop on your FSD wake
but the fact that it's labelled as a qwerty keyboard implies most space men prefer using qwerty. you'd think if they didn't have MIND TYPING in the future they'd at least all have switched over to dvorak.
***** The only reason EVE looks good imo is because every damn system has a nebula. Other than that it's pretty ok graphic wise. Gameplay-wise, I can't say much. It looks incredibly boring and tedious. Plus I have to PAY to play that game. Why do that when I can play something much more fun to me, for one payment of $60
***** Well. Seeing as my PC can run literally anything on ultra...not an issue. I didn't know you could use in game currency to pay for the subscription...that's kinda cool I guess, but I can imagine its for a LOT of in game currency.
***** I don't know about "perfect space sim", I thought it was boring as shit and you only have fun if you were one of the players that started when the game first came out

Yeah because it's all opinioned. Literally anything that is regarded as either a "Masterpiece" or even "Great" by any form of art or media can be called Overrated by someone who simply doesn't get it.
Nail on the head. Overrated as a phrase has pretty much no explanatory power. If a person says something's overrated... well what fucking use is that? The statement conveys absolutely no information without the person explaining what their preferences, biases and experience on the matter are. But of course that isn't going to happen because people who like to claim things are overrated tend to be kissless virgins who desperately need interaction in any form no matter how fruitless and asinine it be. Invariably when somebody does reply to their comment they'll have nothing analytical or insightful to backup their argument beyond the rhetorical standbys they gather from everyone else. I believe "hater", "faggot" and "butthurt" is about the extent of it.
I think "Not getting it" is actually the worse offender than saying something is overrated. Saying someone didnt like a game just because "He didnt get it", is very often used as a shitty defense by Indie Devs when people complain about their shitty "artsy" game. It's also pretty insulting and a non-argument. I will agree tough, that in most cases I hear people call something overrated, it's indeed just someone voicing that they didnt like a popular thing. It can however just be a simple opinion. People call Spec Ops: The Line one of the best games to come out last year. I think the game is mediocre at best, being a pretty bad shooter that just calls you a ponce a lot. I got what the game was trying to say, and it had it's moments, but for all the hype it got I was pretty dissapointed. So I DO think it's overrated. Doesnt mean other people cant enjoy it, or that I resent the game. It's just what I think. It all basically comes down to the old Fanboy vs. Non-Fanboy thing.
How did it take him that long to figure out where the entrance was? That still baffles me. It's on the axis the station spins around, and it has massive strobing runway lights. What the fuck?
A trick that I was taught back in Beta was that the side with the entrance always spins counter-clockwise. If you target the station though there are little arrows on the hologram that indicates where the entrance is, but I tend to use the old trick and use my eyes to check the rotation.
I love the reaction to Mike Star. A bounty and he's mostly harmless? G.A.B.R.I.E.L. 9000: 😈 *KILL HIM! NO MERCY!* Commander Yahtzee (Hero of Space): 😁 I'm all over this MFer. G.A.B.R.I.E.L. 9K: 😗 Ooh, he's got a fancy shield. CMDR Yahtzee (Hero of Space):🤔 Yeah... 😈 Not for long.
I genuinely enjoyed watching you fumble the most basic tasks as you ignored the visual hints and proceeded to make your life in Elite as unnecessarily hard as possible - gave you something to make a fuss about ;)
Wow.. Yahtzee actually appreciated a piece of fan art.. good on ya man. All you artsy types should get on that more, there are some truly awesome moments from these and zero punctuation that could use a decent visual representation.
Two tips when going for the die shaped stations. The mailslot will always be pointing towards whatever it's orbiting, and you'll see small arrows on the 3D projection pointing towards the entry point.
When you said happy easter, i remembered to like the video. I usually watch these videos WHILE playing Elite: Dangerous, so this is one instance where i'm actually watching the whole visual part.
Well you can be Elite in combat as the top rating. It is the top rating of all of the 3 ratings. That;s why they had a "race to elite" where the goal was to get elite in all 3. That being said, Dangerous is one of the higher ratings for combat.
Do a "Lets drown out: Skyrim." I think that would be cool. Just pick a direction and start walking and whatever you encounter along the way, you explore. That would be cool to watch.
It is sad this never came (and never will come) to fruition, as I would have expected Yahtzee to attempt to catalogue every alchemical ingredient in skyrim while avoiding dragons. Interspliced with Gabe's lovable misadventures with the local prostitutes. We can only dream. Of an alternate universe where this has occured.
+Hall Of Game same, usually trader. It's so satisfying to build up a lot of money slowly, buy a big cargo ship, and then earn 200,000 credits by filling the new hold
Trading is nice, but I find you can make more credits per-hour mining. There is something organic and supremely funny about dropping on a strong signal source, only to find a Python picking on a Type-9 Heavy Transport. Especially when you do that with a Federal Corvette and stomp the Python.
lol "Klingon coffee would probably wake you the FUCK up." I'm not sure why that amuses me so much. Maybe the idea of a Klingon rolling off the slab and dragging his ass to the galley to kill himself a fresh cup of Ka'phii.
I wonder if the reason they leave the various wastes in canisters sitting still in space instead of just jettisoning it into the sun is that there are giant recycling corporations that have collector ships that gather up all the waste canisters to be brought back to the processing plant to be converted to useful products again. Hence why they package the waste in canisters, leave them in a sort of stationary position and they have a signal to let them be tracked.
12:20 I fucking relate to that "EHGHH" when Yahtzee came out of hyperdrive, Im always on the verge of shitting myself every time I see that fucking sun pop up in my screen
19:40 the funnt thing is I'm a small business owner and alot of the small business owners I know are the best at games like these. They're experts at risk management, micromanaging, and stuff like that so they tend to kick alot of ass in games like these :3
Not sure if you read this but... tips below. First off you can boost a change in direction. Turn off flight assist, pull back on the stick and hit the afterburner. Boost applies to control thrusters. When your heading is facing the desired direction re-activate flight assist to stabilize. Second, I just watched you pass up an easy 50,000 credits on that type 9 bounty at 53:39 and it was painfull. As soon as you engaged the cops would have joined in, and done all the work for you. You only need to make a hit within five seconds of the death to get the full bounty. If you want to make your money by shooting things, a navigation beacon near a star is a good place to camp. Every npc ship that comes into the system has to stop there, so all the bounty's can be taken there, usually with police assistance. But the real money is in trading rare goods. There are plenty of guides. Short version is, some stations have limited supplys of unique trade items that can be taken any direction 140 light years and sold for insane profit. Usually a good boot strap strat for elite is to do bounty's to 100k, buy a hauler, move some rares to 300k, buy an adder, move some rares to 500k, and do whatever you want from there.
It is grind, but it's fulfilling grind because there are surprises and challenges, and you also constantly feel like you actually have stuff to work toward. There's also a whole lot more stuff to do. For example, one day I was like "I want to go visit Betelgeuse." It took most of an afternoon, and I nearly ran out of fuel a couple of times, but I made it there and back. I also made quite a lot of money on the scan data.
I personally wouldn't say "fun the first 100 hours" classifies as not fun overall. Just imagine watching the same movie 66 times and see how long that takes until it gets boring, and I'd argue there is less content in Elite than in a movie. I just looked at my steam counter and gasped as I found out that I have logged 279 hours of Elite. I did quit because I became bored eventually, though, but the nice thing is: they are still adding to the game regularly, with the goal of making it a complete space jockey experience at some point where you probably even can have an apartment in a space station where you need to water your plants and have your space wife cheat on you because you're never there. So you can pick it up again after some months and it will be a fuller universe.
And actually After you request docking on one of the d20 things The hologram of it updates to show the side you are facing plus arrows pointi g to entrance, your navigation compass also points towards it
I have enough fun with the good games on my PS3, thanks, I'll wait to get a gaming PC where I don't have to pay fees to play online (unless it was War of Warcraft, which I don't play)
There are a few ways to know where the entrance of the big space stations are: - The space station's entrance is almost always facing the celestial body they're orbiting - The face of the entrance always rotates counter-clock wise. - The Coriolis type stations (the round, polyhedral ones) have blue lights on the corners of the side where the entrance is, and red ones on the opposite side. Also, the entrance is always on the square side. - If you target the station, you can see arrows pointing towards the side where the entrance is located on the model that appears in the HUD.
This is where VR could shine. I could get lost in this for days with VR... And a couple joysticks and some green-screen gloves (did I just invent those?) that live-animate my hands in-game...
I actually met Garrett Wong last week, it was at a convention so I got his autograph and now I feel really happy, and I also asked him if he has ever heard of SF Debris and he said no and if it was someone he should look up. I feel like I had done something wrong.
'"What? Harmless? Is that all its got to say? Harmless? One word?" Ford shrugged "Well there are a hundred billions stars in the galaxy and only a limited amount of space in the book's microprocessors" He said "And no-one knew much about the Earth of course" "Well for god's sake. I hope you got to rectify that a bit" "Oh yes, well I managed to transmit a new entry off to the editor. He had to trim it a bit, but it's still an improvement" "And what does it say now?" asked Arthur "Mostly harmless" admitted Ford The fifth book in the series is also called "Mostly Harmless" in reference to the quote.
Just a question because I'm simply curious but... Has anyone ever made a Horror Game that takes place in the Sea? More specifically in the bottom of the Ocean where all sorts of creepy shit dwells? If so, what game and where can I find footage of it? Because that sounds an easy concept to cash in.
As others have no doubt said, it was originally a BBC Micro game before being ported to the Commodore 64 and Spectrum. There wasn't a lot to shout about as a BBC owner, but Elite was one such thing! :)
This looks great, but i feel like these kinds of games could be so much more in terms of what you can find. These games should have wierd planets, giant alien monsters, strange anomalies, etc. i'm not saying these games aren't cool, but they should be more than just "humans in small box-shaped ships exploring a bunch of indistinguishable planets and systems." It would be better if they pushed the limits of what sci-fi is capable of, i think
C Mufasa Not sure if ED is going for aliens, but Star Citizen is. But there is a lot of concern that Star Citizen might be overambitious to its own goals. Time will tell.
ThoroinEsp Then for spaceflight gameplay he would seem to want less, then. I've played STO at the start and recently. Still leaves a lot to be desired.
Its probably been mentioned already Yahtzee but the vision station did tell you where the entrance was. Once you ask for docking permission the small hologram of the station on your hud changed. Every surface that didn't have the entrance had an arrow on the holo pointing in the direction of the entrance.
"I don't think a heavily action-oriented game and a kind of psychological horror thing can really work together that well." Alan Wake! Quite awesome. Although it's technically a psychological thriller.
Harley Dirk Yeah, I mainly replay it every now and then for the gameplay and atmosphere. Story's OK in my book, but these things (and the soundtrack) are what really make it enjoyable.
Fun fact with the cube station things. If you target is, the orange model thingy beside your speed and rader will show arrows that point to the side with the opening on it.
Um... Yahtzee... You comparing Gabriel with Tom Fun, and yourself with Derek by quoting his catchphrase... well it doesn't help your 'We're not gay, honest' claim. Just saying.
51:26 Gabriel: "one human life is legitimately meaningless in the future" Me: "well, when you think about it one human life is meaningless now but as a famous man once said "the death of one is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic""
I will purchase this game once I can also buy Oculus Rift and a flight controller deck. Watching those videos with Occulus Rift blew my mind. Great video you two.
“Missions don’t pay as well as Just wandering around space”.... Umm... No, Yahtzee. Take it from a guy with a ship worth 26 million credits, missions are definitely the way to go.
I'd imagine there would be a time in the far future where there would be a branch of archaeology/biology that would go around collecting discarded poop canisters from centuries past to be able to learn about past civilizations and diets and such.
describing qui gon jinn: loyal, devoted, wise, skilled, experienced. Loyal to the Jedi order and didn't follow his master Count Dooku when he left the jedi order. his skill came from trained under Count Dooku (the best jedi duelist of his time) and became the best after his master left, he was also a jedi consular so his force abilities must have been impressive. Devoted to the belief that Anakin was the chosen one. He also became a force apparition and spoke with Yoda and Obi Wan after he died. Wise, this is just me filling in words tbh, I can assume he's wise as most jedi are but have no examples. Experienced, he was in his 60's at the time of his death despite how young liam neeson looked in the film. Then he does and gets himself killed by a "sith" apprentice who cannot manifest the force. He's not very well fleshed out in the prequels but there is some additional detail provided about him in the books and animated series. Unfortunately i don't believe any of the books are considered canon anymore so RIP.
Honestly, I loved this episode :o I feel Elite: Dangerous is perfect for like discussions and exploration... Also Yahtzee thank you! :D I look forward to every Sunday because of you. Or maybe that's just a personal problem of mine.
Not sure if you or anyone else knows this, but the closest system to Sol is Alpha Centurai, which only has a commodities market at the system which is around a 45 minute flight from the beacon. Proxima Centarui is a TREK.
"Hot is happening! we're at 125% hot! the cabins doing the star trek thing!" that should totally be a mod

wouldnt 'mostly harmless' be more dangerous than 'harmless'?
Correct!
yes, but it's a lot sadder and world weary.

So the equivalent of Earth.
It is. In fact, 'mostly harmless' is a step up from 'harmless.' Which means Yahtzee somehow went down in combat rank.
I see you've been doing a bit of Sol searching.
Josh Brown I see what you did there
Josh Brown God dammit.
Better call Sol.
Josh Brown You win.
Damn, sun.
happy 2017 everybody. I'm still here brooding over the death of this channel.

+Mr. Big Snake Also I noticed, he said he had an Eagle... That most certainly isn't an Eagle MKII, it's a Sidewinder.
34:10 There absolutely is a hard break. If you hit the disengage button twice it'll take you out of the jump early and damage the ship a little.
Jonathan Lewis Yes but it's pretty pointless because you don't just stop, you fall out of warp. Jp Cam Good point.
In the distant future we still use digital qwerty keyboards.
well try and imagine a more comfortable way to type
Happy Bear
dvorak keyboards
but the layout is just like a qwerty one, I could just rebind my keyboard through my software and reposition the keys and whoop a dvorak
but the fact that it's labelled as a qwerty keyboard implies most space men prefer using qwerty. you'd think if they didn't have MIND TYPING in the future they'd at least all have switched over to dvorak.
Happy Bear With your brain. Or with a holokeyboard, Or with voice commands. All of which would probably be available in this distant future.

The worst part is, Drown Out is officially over.
+Natsume-Hime i'm gonna die

Why is it over?

Really cool to see you play some Elite Dangerous. I'd love for the adventures of Commander Croshaw and G.A.B.E. to continue on.
Surprised they didn't bring up that Red Dwarf episode wherein Rimmer gets enthusiastic about a garbage pod.
+Dávid B IT WAS A QUAGAR WARRIOR
"It's "Quagaars" actually, there's two 'a's"
"It's a garbage pod...IT'S A SMEGGING GARBAGE POD!"

After watching roughly 30 episodes of Zero Punctuation, it's kind of weird hearing Yahtzee speak at a normal pace.
Dion Polites it's even weirder after 400
I genuinely enjoyed watching you fumble the most basic tasks as you ignored the visual hints and proceeded to make your life in Elite as unnecessarily hard as possible - gave you something to make a fuss about ;)
Wow.. Yahtzee actually appreciated a piece of fan art.. good on ya man. All you artsy types should get on that more, there are some truly awesome moments from these and zero punctuation that could use a decent visual representation.
Excuse me Mr Yahtzee. Would you consider doing another one of these?
Two tips when going for the die shaped stations. The mailslot will always be pointing towards whatever it's orbiting, and you'll see small arrows on the 3D projection pointing towards the entry point.
Poor guy at the end, never got an answer to his question.
So who else started praying for Yahtzee's remains the moment he decided to check out a strong signal source with a sidewinder?
29:45 _Space Commander Yahtzee, hero of space._
The level of nonchalant is lmao. *That*'s how it's done, Gabe, pipe down.
44:50 Hear, hear.
When you said happy easter, i remembered to like the video. I usually watch these videos WHILE playing Elite: Dangerous, so this is one instance where i'm actually watching the whole visual part.
Finds Biowaste...
Me : immediately has awful feeling John Defoe has something to do with this!!
I just wanted to go into space!!
Always enjoy a Lets drown out. Upload more of these.
Elite:Dangerous is the top ranking.
"Elite" is the overall ranking, "Dangerous" has to do with your combat ranking
Well you can be Elite in combat as the top rating. It is the top rating of all of the 3 ratings. That;s why they had a "race to elite" where the goal was to get elite in all 3. That being said, Dangerous is one of the higher ratings for combat.
Ilseroth Ah ok. I obviously haven't got there lmao
Escape Velocity Nova has a similar system. Final combat ratings are Dangerous, Deadly and Frightening.
the chatsscreen is just hilarious at 15:28.
Wi tu Lo: I can't believe that worked! Get him, boys!
I just cracked up laughing at that point :D!
Do a "Lets drown out: Skyrim." I think that would be cool. Just pick a direction and start walking and whatever you encounter along the way, you explore. That would be cool to watch.
I concur with this statement. But with the alternate random start mod.
LeAmmitioneur I think it would be better with an already fairly leveled character, so it wouldn't be an hour of Yahztee being mauled by tigers.
Agreed. But not a character so high level that it explored most of the environment... what am I saying Yatze didn't play a lot of Skyrim haha
Collector2006 It would have to be 6 times longer than usual!
I was looking for something to watch/listen too whilst playing Elite Dangerous. Awesome
anyone else stockpiling these for the inevitable youtube apocalypse?
53:56 far cry 3 lets you be stealthy or blow every thing up and although its an old game its one of my favourite.
It's not that old...
I prefer Far Cry 4 but Far Cry 3 is still great. Let's just not mention Far Cry 5 or New Dawn.
Personally love these kinda games, wish there was more of them.
I do too! Do you prefer playing as a trader or a pirate/bounty hunter type deal
I'll dabble, but I usually prefer trader, build up a load of money. Plus fighting off ambushes feels more organic and desperate. You?
+Hall Of Game same, usually trader. It's so satisfying to build up a lot of money slowly, buy a big cargo ship, and then earn 200,000 credits by filling the new hold
Yeaaah the feeling when your capacity for goods nearly doubles is amazing
That would be one hell of a job to have on your resume. Collecting space shit.
Single free floating canisters wouldn't justify the time, fuel and risk involved in collecting and recycling them.
They're experts at risk management, micromanaging, and stuff like that so they tend to kick alot of ass in games like these :3
Eve online is like that for accountants and political science majors.
I always watch these podcasts while I'm playing Elite. Now the sound overlap is getting weird.
"I think I've lost shields. Well that's embarrassing."
For some reason that made me laugh so hard
so this is no man's sky but fun?
It's no man sky but a bigger pain in the ass.
thats 95 hours more funtime than I had with no mans sky
Back after the updates to NMS
It is now fun
23:55 'Poor, dumb Harry...' followed by an exasperated sign is the only way to describe Harry Kim
"Goddamnit, Ross"
Considering he has been talking about cults all the time, he might visit Accursed Farms. :P
One of the best videos you guys have released!
@ 19 minutees in, strong signal sources are for multi player wings... way too hot for a single sidewinder :)
th-cam.com/users/starius2
btw type in 19:00 itll link to it directly
I just finished your book, Jam, I really loved it! I hope you write more books!!
And actually
After you request docking on one of the d20 things
The hologram of it updates to show the side you are facing plus arrows pointi g to entrance, your navigation compass also points towards it
This was great to watch while I was enjoying my Gentle Meth. I look forward to more.
They just wanted to go into spaaaaaaaace!
After Checking for the 100th time today, my obsession with this channel has finally paid off.
Daaaaaaamn iiiit, I sooo want a gamer computer and get a copy of this game, I feel it''s waaay amazing
+Fernando Langalú Available on Xbox One and coming to PS4 if you own either of those. PC definitely looks best though.
I have enough fun with the good games on my PS3, thanks, I'll wait to get a gaming PC where I don't have to pay fees to play online (unless it was War of Warcraft, which I don't play)
Fernando Langalú I'm a PC gamer as well, I was just mentioning the platforms it was available for.
+Fernando Langalú War of Warcraft? XD
+klimpomp The thing is, current gen consoles (ps4 and Xbox one) charge you for online multiplayer, WoW does the same
There are a few ways to know where the entrance of the big space stations are:
- The space station's entrance is almost always facing the celestial body they're orbiting
- The face of the entrance always rotates counter-clock wise.
This game is beautiful !! Holy shit !
This is where VR could shine. I could get lost in this for days with VR... And a couple joysticks and some green-screen gloves (did I just invent those?) that live-animate my hands in-game...
VR Does shine in this :).
Thank Twin Peaks for everything being serialized now, for better or worse.
I actually met Garrett Wong last week, it was at a convention so I got his autograph and now I feel really happy, and I also asked him if he has ever heard of SF Debris and he said no and if it was someone he should look up. I feel like I had done something wrong.
Wait, "mostly harmless"? Isn't that from The Hitchhiker's Guide?
no
+Zachary McSleuthburger Yes it is. In the Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy, Earth is described as "Mostly harmless"
HB MK no, it's not
'"What? Harmless? Is that all its got to say? Harmless? One word?"
Ford shrugged "Well there are a hundred billions stars in the galaxy and only a limited amount of space in the book's microprocessors" He said "And no-one knew much about the Earth of course"
"Well for god's sake. I hope you got to rectify that a bit"
"Oh yes, well I managed to transmit a new entry off to the editor. He had to trim it a bit, but it's still an improvement"
"And what does it say now?" asked Arthur
"Mostly harmless" admitted Ford
The fifth book in the series is also called "Mostly Harmless" in reference to the quote.
You can tell this is Yatzy the third cause he almost crashed into the sun
you need to do more of Elite Dangerous
no no wait till the Thargoids have more of a presents in the game before asking him to return to it XD
ok, this is too damn funny for me to sit here and watch it at work. I keep having to stifle my laughter. I'll be giving this a watch later.
Deep Fear.
Deep Fear isn't much of a game to begin with.
The Gorgeous Fruit Sssh, I want him to laugh at how badly it sucks.
Bioshock 1
Popaul Lavelle That was my thought.
As others have no doubt said, it was originally a BBC Micro game before being ported to the Commodore 64 and Spectrum. There wasn't a lot to shout about as a BBC owner, but Elite was one such thing! :)
Zero Punctuation, I know that Voice anywhere
Lost opportunity: Naming your character Rob Blanc
This looks great, but i feel like these kinds of games could be so much more in terms of what you can find. These games should have wierd planets, giant alien monsters, strange anomalies, etc. i'm not saying these games aren't cool, but they should be more than just "humans in small box-shaped ships exploring a bunch of indistinguishable planets and systems." It would be better if they pushed the limits of what sci-fi is capable of, i think
C Mufasa star trek online m9.
C Mufasa Not sure if ED is going for aliens, but Star Citizen is. But there is a lot of concern that Star Citizen might be overambitious to its own goals. Time will tell.
ThoroinEsp Star Trek Online is not the same genre as Elite Dangerous.
I did not say it was, for what he wants it is the best option.
"I don't think a heavily action-oriented game and a kind of psychological horror thing can really work together that well."
Alan Wake! Quite awesome. Although it's technically a psychological thriller.
You might want to avoid the Zero Punctuation review...
Harley Dirk Already seen it. Thought it was funny and made a lot of valid points, but Alan Wake is still a great game, IMO.
Vic 2.0
Good to know. I bought it recently but haven't had a chance to play through yet.
WHERE IS 5 DAYS A STRANGER?! DDDD:
Ghost81 next week
1jim3bob SATAN
Starius2
hello
ELLO GUVNA! YOU WANNA AVE SOME TEA AN BISCUITS WIV DA QUEEN?!
Starius2
blimey now thats a rather cracking idea
"i've managed to work my way up from mostly harmless"
Um... Yahtzee... You comparing Gabriel with Tom Fun, and yourself with Derek by quoting his catchphrase... well it doesn't help your 'We're not gay, honest' claim. Just saying.
You guys should make that fanart the profile image for this channel, if the author'll let you. It's actually really superbly done.
Nice timing Yahtzee, needed something to wash out the shit in my mouth otherwise know as Battlefield 4.
SatanicTroll 73 I just watched Fast and Furious 7, I have the same feeling.
DigitalZ I have some "post-fast and furious" medication, if you'd like some.
DigitalZ It's called "F 'n' F Phrine"
John S Funny! *xD*
Said the guy who liked a BF4 video.
51:26 Gabriel: "one human life is legitimately meaningless in the future"
Me: "well, when you think about it one human life is meaningless now but as a famous man once said "the death of one is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic""
quoteseption
That famous man being Josef Stalin
ClasiiC RANDOMZ yes.
wow no man's sky looks amazing. oh wait this is a different game
12:50 he is a cowboy jedi who plays by his own rules and will disobey the council if he knows what he is doing...how did i do.
Ah.. I would like to see Zahtzee review and "Drown out" Star Citizen when it comes out.
I will purchase this game once I can also buy Oculus Rift and a flight controller deck. Watching those videos with Occulus Rift blew my mind. Great video you two.
“Missions don’t pay as well as Just wandering around space”.... Umm... No, Yahtzee. Take it from a guy with a ship worth 26 million credits, missions are definitely the way to go.
the keyboard on the left hand side made me chuckle
Elite dangerous takes place who-knows-how far in the future and we’re apparently still using querty
Stop calling the stars suns.
no one care
***** *Ruffles hair* I'm sure you do, son. I'm sure you do.
LeAmmitioneur
I love you dad.
***** Shut up, son. I am TRYING to watch some TV!
Psygnosis... Damn i miss that company... Loved Colony Wars
on that borg cube looking station, you'll see arrows pointing to the entrance on the hologram (to the left of your radar).
Sensoka Or you can use the right hand rule. Curl your fingers the way the station spins and your thumb will point to the entrance.
gogerychwyrndrobwll Or just look for the side that rotates counter-clockwise :3
Zeke Same thing :)
I like how he's flying around the back of the station trying to find the entrance that's on the other side :D
Thank God, Gabe. I love Haunting. Great underrated classic.
A LOT better than this shit
"Are there aliens in this?"
Now there is.
"Why are you flying at a sun? Those are hot." - Professor Gabriel, 2015.
I'd imagine there would be a time in the far future where there would be a branch of archaeology/biology that would go around collecting discarded poop canisters from centuries past to be able to learn about past civilizations and diets and such.
41:48 "hop, skip and a jump..." was that a reference to what I think it was?
describing qui gon jinn: loyal, devoted, wise, skilled, experienced.
Happy Easter Yahtzee! So where is our video of you stuffing Cadbury Creme Eggs into yer gob?
