I get your point, but these are nothing compared to Iinfinity, ABC, Omega, Treatoad, BA, Metalfoes etc. not to mention all the "you can't do this and you can't do that" cards that are running rampant these days, like vanity's emptiness or Denko Sekka. Yugioh in my opinion should always be back and forth, but in the latest formats it's just whoever goes first wins, and that is what I mean with power creep.
Nawar Joud As much as I love YZ, they still aren't broken even with that trap. Unlike quite a lot of archetypes now, you have to play fairly carefully with YZ.

Why more games aren't like this? Where skill and playing smart to overrun opponent actually matter? Today is just win rock, paper, scissors to go first. Establish huge stun boards like turn 1 cyber dragon infinity, ABC dragon and spell fragrance backed with solemn. Or first turn dark law, treatoad and rafflesia. With games literally being decided by who goes first and establish unbreakable board faster. I miss days of yugioh when winner wasn't decided by who opens first in duel.

What Komoney doesn't get is that we want cards that protect our boss monsters not cards that stop our opponents playing

It's hard to find that perfect balance of having reliable boss monsters to summon and other players having options to out them somehow.
