Might be handy for people who missed them first time around, lost them in a house move, lent them to someone and never got them back, lent them to someone and they were returned scratched or couldn’t be played or whatever - as the original albums were deleted after so long, you couldn’t replace them! My second youngest sister tried to persuade me to wait for the current one to drop out of the charts in the mistaken belief that it would be cheaper - how £9.99 is a reduction from £6.99 , I don’t know - it’s actually at its cheapest when it’s in the charts!
We are getting a NOW Millennium 2004-2005 on the 1st of March as part of the Yearbook Phase 3 series. this will be followed by NOW Yearbook 1990 Extra and NOW 117 plus the NOW 17 reissue and NOW 12” 80s 1982 Part 2.
I understand bro, especially that the ones you didn't buy featured SO MANY songs that have been previously featured on multiple NOW albums. For example - The 2024 NOW Country album is gonna have a majority of tracks that have been featured on the 2021 country album.
I'm hoping for a Now That's What I Call Hip House - but with the 12" versions, no radio edits. Totally understand your view on some of these Nows though, it's getting rather silly! Wasn't joking about hip house though, that would be cool Now execs!
When it comes to the time when you're paying £60-£90 for a compilation that has only 2-3 different tracks is the same time to stop as these compilations are by far not going away
I'm just going for the CD Yearbook's (Special and Extra's), and even then only for the period of time I was actively listening to the Top 40, which is a long time ago now! The compilations on fancy coloured vinyl seem a huge waste of money. I could never really imagine wanting to spin a compilation disc on my turntable...
Great that you're using a last generation iPod touch. I use a click wheel iPod with an enhanced solid state drive and I love it. Somehow these devices are indispensable unlike smartphones that are always being upgraded so you made the right decision. Love these Now spin offs particularly the yearbooks and their extras. Agree with you about the 40th anniversary products being overkill. Apart from your feature on BBC news, were there any dedicated TV documentaries that I missed? We've had them on other landmark dates I'm sure.
@@AMTVNOWI really think Now should released an entire Roxette album with the glared emissions from Nows 43, 44, 48, 49 and 54, Then the return of Roxette in 2006, Charm School (2011), Travelling (2012), Good Karma (2016), The PG Roxette Years: 2022 (Pop-Up Dynamo!)
Yes, can't buy everything from Now though the Now Country sounds good. I just hope they continue the Now 1972, 1975, 1976 etc as well as extras and vaults. Perhaps a Now that is obscure disco ? A 4 boxset of totally obscure disco and I would buy it in an instant.
trying to catch up with these Now albums. Got my copy of Now Thats What I Call Unforgettable at HMV in Poole yesterday and i have both the CD and Vinyl of Now Country on order from Amazon.
I'm only buying the Yearbook releases. I made the mistake of also getting the Decades CDs before Xmas. A friend at work took them off my hands for a couple of quid.
Yeah I totally agree with your point about NOW releasing far too many albums for their 40th anniversary, it was just pure greed by them in my opinion, all the numbered NOWS and Yearbooks are must haves in my opinion, and I do own some of the spin-off albums as well though certainly not all of them :)
I stopped at the exact same point as you with the spin offs. It was especially the 40 year editions I thought enough is enough. The numbered and yearbooks are now for me.
Thanks to this video, I've just ordered the Now Eighties Disco & Electro. Although I have nearly all of them on 12" single, sometimes it's just easier to bung an album on when friends or family are visiting, rather than changing the record every 5 mins or so. I enjoy the 12's when me and my mates are having a mix but an album is perfect for a more social occasion and I don't really have many of these songs on an album. I do get what you mean though. If you already have most of the songs on an album then what's the point of buying something similar. I haven't purchased many of the new NOW series from 70's 80's etc because I already have most of them on other albums.
100% agree Adam. I've been saying for a while there are simply too many releases, its getting a bit silly. How many times can you re hash the same songs on a different release? (Quite a few by the look of it) Having said that l am a big fan of the now yearbook series, the hard back CDs are great.
NOW Spinoffs Example Given Country: A merger of the last NOW Country with the tracks from the last Hits Country and The Best County Album In The World Ever jumbed into it. NOW Yearbook: A merger of every Universial Buyout Mainline and NOW Mainline. NOW Yearbook: 70s - 82 A merger of 20 Hits, Chart Busters, Chart Action and other cheesy named pre NOW/Hits ones from brands owned by Uni when the original source albums are probably still £3 each for being before big named expensive NOW and Hits Existed. NOW Mainline and NOW 12" - The only true originals that are 100% NOW without using the other brands they own in the tracklist to cashin on all the sub compilation brands they own now where anything they release NOW are also NOW Label Spinoffs just to get past the legal competition limits.

You don’t , have to explain anything , Adam. You’re brilliant. ❤
A lot of the tracks have been on other now spin-offs or the numbered ones.
I think you've got excellent taste in music; so eclectic! But you're doing right in getting the ones you only feel drawn to or feel are worth it!
✨️❤️

We had one for the 30th anniversary but I don't think there were any dedicated programmes or documentaries this time around!

The 80s yearbooks are only missing 1987 and 1989. Only three of the 70s have been done and only two from the 90s.

Nice to see I'm not alone. Id like to have got all of these. Just can't afford them.

Avoiding the rabbit hole and sticking to the yearbooks.
I found Now Unforgettable and Country In ASDA Way Back in Cumbria!
You missed the now albums anything. I am so sorry for the inconvenience because I didn’t buy the now albums before.
Where did you buy that awsome jacket?
shirtz.cool - a great site with loads of colourful designs!
I see why
