Great review, I own the L48 and am seriously considering trading in on the M62, the only concern i have is the regen cycle. I've heard some negative reviews on this cycle. Only by some friends that have other models such as the new holland. What are your thoughts on this? thank you in advance, Mike Houser

Mike, although I’m not a fan of all the new green nonsense, it hasn’t been a problem. That issue wouldn’t be a deciding factor for me. Thanks for your feedback!

I just spent the whole day on it doing 200’ of tiling spring water. It’s like playing in the sandbox for big boys.

Awesome review...I'm buying my M62 next week. You convinced me it's a perfect all around construction machine ! Nice job

Thank you Craig, that makes it all worth it to me. Like yourself, I too was sifting through the vast TH-cam playlists in search of an M62 video I perhaps hadn’t seen that would give me a bit more honest detail on the pros & cons.

    Are you selling the JD110?

Already did, last year. They are great machines, I just needed more HP and lifting capacity

Thanks Glen! If anything, they’re certainly fun videos to make. The next episode on the way is the second half of this M62 review after 160 hours in the seat. Then, the 3rd one is more of an adventure episode digging drainage ditches, breaking pipes, fixing pipes, and all the joys of a project wrestling mud, snow, rain and surprises. Most of the episodes will be more like the 3rd one, but we’ll sprinkle some more equipment reviews as they come along.

Will it fit in a 16ft dump trailer?

Not without the loader sky high and the back dig boom hanging out back. I use my 16’ open trailer with split double rear ramps and I transport with loader above striking distance of dump truck. The rear boom protrudes 3’ past the middle of ramps. It works good enough for me, so I persist with what I already have.

How do the M62’s do on slope?

Like any typical tractor. The one advantage is I can swing the digging boom to the uphill side and do a little less white knuckle action. 😁

Nice comparison. I'm looking at getting into excavation work in the future so this is a great video to compare my bang for buck

Thank you Jon, yes both are very capable machines. I loved the John Deere 110 and I got a lot done with it. The lifting capacities and extra reach with the Kubota are hard to ignore. I’ve got 220 hours on it now and all of the controls feel pretty natural. If you are use to the hydraulic speed of the mini excavators out there, you find these two backhoes sluggish as the levers are literally opening and closing mechanical valves where as all the new mini’s controls are digitally interpreted from the electronic joysticks making much smoother and faster operation. For my needs the tractor loader backhoe (TLB) was the best all around fit. One machine that generally does all my tasks well. Field mowing, 3 point options, grapple bucket, the ability to taxi around on a wheel machine up and down a couple miles or so of roads on our property.
