Good score Lyle. I am looking forward to the detailed part 2 video. I have never perceived you as a braggart. You are bringing your love of the trades to us.
Bragging is the furthest thing from my mind when I see you in these auction plunder videos. I live vicariously through you, as on-site auctions are getting pretty rare around here. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Anyone who has followed you for even a short time would know you're not bragging by videoing and talking about your auction finds. I think it's great that your still going out and looking for deals and sometimes bringing them home! Thank you for bringing us along for the ride!
Your auction videos are some of my favorites. You are not bragging, you are just enjoying life. Keep it up and keep searching for those treasures. Stay safe and have a good weekend.
Nice team work with your wife. Love these videos. I’m always looking for a good auction but I have never came across one like that. I usually have to go to machine shop closings
Thanks for sharing. I never thought you were "bragging", I always felt you were just sharing what is around you and maybe inspire some of us to look beyond ebay or craigslist.
Lyle, thanks for sharing your auction videos with the class. I love seeing all the beautiful tools. The real gem of the day as you already know is your wonderful bride helping you dry everything off 👍. I wish you didn’t feel the need to make your disclaimer about not bragging but then I guess you may have a few disgruntled students that complain about everything! All the best to you and your family this holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Norm in Arizona
Great haul! "How to make knives" was THE book for aspiring knifemakers to own, for sure. The section by R.W. Loveless would be worth a look for you as he had an extensive machinist background. My own copy is well-thumbed, for sure. Looking forward to part 2. Thanks, Mr. Pete! :-)
Mr. Pete, please I don't find these types of videos to be boastful, I find them very educational and informative. The best educational I have had in 35 years. Thank you for sharing these with us.
I love watching your scores from the auctions you attend. I wish we had more of these over here that cater for the machinist. Great to see Mrs Tubalcain in the shop helping you clean and oil. I’m sending my wife over for some training lol 😂. Warm regards, Aaron
What was in the big red toolbox marked Starrett? Parker Shotguns were made by the same folks that made the Parker vise! I am not a knife guy but the Blackie Collins book might be an interesting one? Bragging, no need to brag about it raining ;)
Enjoyment from whatever makes you happy is what it is all about. I read in book years ago, there is no such thing as bad weather only a bad choice of clothing.
I’m looking forward to the second video. Also, I have never believed you were bragging. Your spirit and demeanor has always been one of sharing your experience. Let me say, I would bet that many who watch are inspired to go to auctions because of your videos and then they too are enjoying the fun and in some cases rewards. You’re a good man Charlie Brown!!! (My grandma used to say that)
I've never thought of you Mr.Pete as a person who is haughty or a bragger . Not in any way, maybe viewers like me who are serious about tools. Find our selves slightly envious of your stunning collection of tools
Great way to start a day, a cup of coffee and a Mr. Pete auction video. Seeing those Starrett tools getting wet is heart breaking. Love the auction video's.
Lyle: I know this is a bit late for your rainy day buys,. Get a large cardboard box, and a cheap hair dryer. Cut 2 inch holes, one in the side and one in the top of the box. Put all the towel dried tools in the box and close it up. Point the hair dryer into the side hole and turn it on low. Let everything "cook" for an hour or so. Sure worked for me. Thanks for the video. Jon
You're lucky you live in an area that has these auctions. Looks like lots of fun. Suggestion though: how about sharing the wealth and doing another EBAY auction on the excess stuff you acquired....you can even make a few $$$. Just a thought...I'm in
An Edsel Maintenance Manual!!!!!! See... some of us stick all the way to the end! You are so fortunate to be somewhere where they have so many tool auctions!
Congratulations! Sure is good that these fine old tools are going where they are appreciated. Thats a nice selection of goodies👍. I love the magazines... they are a treasure of good reading.. Looking forward to part 2, as is my husband.
Fantastic haul. Not sure why you do the brag disclaimer but love watching this content. Please keep it up and thanks for all your efforts and to Mrs Pete 222 for the assistance in Your cleaning up of your haul.
These auctions/treasure hunts are what keeps your blood pumping. Nothing more fun than when you are bidding on items. Even when you don’t come out as high bidder. I’m an auction nut myself. Plenty of times I’ve been caught up in the action and paid more than I wished for stuff I didn’t need. Keep doing what you are doing Mr. Pete.
I love seeing old tools at auctions , I wished I lived in a industrial area , auction around here may have some craftsman’s tool but nothing like I get to see when you go to a auction and show us . Too bad it was raining ,Thank you for dealing with the rain . Now get those finds dried off , lol.
No way I'm going to turn this video off! That "Second Bedside Reader" value would pay for your total auction cost and leave money in your pocket! All those woodworking tools, nice!!! We don't get that kind of stuff to buy down here in Texas. Thanks for sharing! Ken
Burr,,,setting in the passenger seat, I got a chill from the rainy cold drive to and from the sale,,hehe ! Any way, wish I could have went along, but glad you weathered the day to go and bring home some more treasures (@@)! Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year for Bear & Sammie, Tx.
Thanks for taking us along on your road trip. Lousy weather? Sure, but better than snow and ice! Nice score, worth the trouble and a tip of the hat to Mrs. "Tubalcain" for helping to rescue these fine tools.
Wow Mr Pete I can’t believe that the auction folks didn’t have pop ups canapés to keep the items dry looks like you did alright though thanks for taking us along
It's always a bummer when tool hunting and I expand my radius out towards Illinois and Michigan, so much for so little but so far away! Meanwhile a mini lathe in my neighborhood goes for a grand or more.
Oh go ahead and brag, brag away Lyle, you are a great auction tool seeker. Have a very Merry Christmas 2021, it was great today, to watch your adventure today seeing that water fall (not too often here in the desert). We saw lots of your favorite branded items by Starrett. Thank you, Lance & Patrick.
It's astounding how much measuring equipment was made over the years. Even more mind boggling is how much of it got relatively little or no use and sold off at auction years later. However I am thankful for it, I have saved many dollars buying the tools I need to work second hand. Cheers Mr Pete. PS.... A poncho? You mean to tell me they still have those? Heh Heh!
The only auctions in northern Iowa are farm auctions with hay racks full of rusty tools in boxes that have lived in farm machine sheds for a couple lifetimes. I am not sure what I will do with all this extra credit I am getting by watching these videos but I am sure if I took all of it and a $5.00 bill I could buy a fancy coffee that looks more like a milkshake than coffee. I'll be back for part 2.
I enjoy your auction videos (and the instructive ones as well) . You are lucky to still have live auctions with interesting things to buy. Its all on-line auctions around here which means almost everything is over-priced.
Well I know how that goes. I have been to a auction in the rain hear in MO. It was a miserable day. But I got some great items. I love looking at what you find. I think that you do good. You are out and about doing something that you enjoy. You meet people and that is the fun of it also. So keep it up. It is better than sitting around the house and doing nothing. So I say enjoy it and I'll keep watching the videos.
I love tools as much as the next guy but I don't see the need for 20 1" mics in a one man shop. Your family is going to have one hell of an auction some day. I only buy things now that I use on a regular basis in my old age.
I am also looking forward to part 2. You are living the dream. LOL Auctions with that amount of good Starrett stuff are a rare deal down here where I am at.
Good score Lyle. I am looking forward to the detailed part 2 video. I have never perceived you as a braggart. You are bringing your love of the trades to us.
Thanks

Kudos to Mrs. Pete - She's got some real hustle! If you recorded her the whole time you wouldn't even need to use a time-lapse. 😉 Thanks again.
Nice team work with your wife. Love these videos. I’m always looking for a good auction but I have never came across one like that. I usually have to go to machine shop closings
👍
very impressive to see it all laid out on the black table
Lyle just watching all the tools spread careless hurt and later wet overwhelmed more. Thank you for rescuing at least some.
Who doesn.t love finding a good deal? Always enjoy seeing these finds. Wish I was in your area for some of these auctions.
It’s raining here in Connecticut this morning. Having fun can be a lot of work sometimes. Your wife is an Angel for helping you.👍👍
Yes
Thanks for sharing.
I never thought you were "bragging", I always felt you were just sharing what is around you and maybe inspire some of us to look beyond ebay or craigslist.
Good Saturday morning Mr. Pete. Coffee and Starrett tools...my morning is complete!! Thanks for the video.
👍
Thank you Mr Pete. I hope all those tools come out OK with out suffering any damage.
Very entertaining and Mrs. Pete is a saint for helping you out. I am retired myself and enjoy tool shopping at flea markets.
Lyle, thanks for sharing your auction videos with the class. I love seeing all the beautiful tools. The real gem of the day as you already know is your wonderful bride helping you dry everything off 👍. You are enjoying life and I am honored to go along with you. Keep them coming.
Thanks
This are the perfect day out for machinists young and not so young. Hello Mrs Peterson 👋
WOW, It looks like Ireland in the summertime !
Great haul! "How to make knives" was THE book for aspiring knifemakers to own, for sure. The section by R.W. Loveless would be worth a look for you as he had an extensive machinist background. My own copy is well-thumbed, for sure. Looking forward to part 2. Thanks, Mr. Pete! :-)

Your buy of the day was the box of books for a dollar.
What was in the big red toolbox marked Starrett?
Parker Shotguns were made by the same folks that made the Parker vise!
I am not a knife guy but the Blackie Collins book might be an interesting one?
Bragging, no need to brag about it raining ;)
Great tools and a great team cleaning them up.
👍
Enjoyment from whatever makes you happy is what it is all about. I read in book years ago, there is no such thing as bad weather only a bad choice of clothing.
Mr Pete, I enjoy your auction adventures and the education about these old tools, Thank you.
Love these auction videos! Enjoy the extra credit too!
Thank you for sharing. I am surprised they did not postpone that sale because of the weather. Take care.
It great that there's significant interest in such auctions.
I’m looking forward to the second video.
Also, I have never believed you were bragging. Your spirit and demeanor has always been one of sharing your experience.

You’re a good man Charlie Brown!!! (My grandma used to say that)
Thanks
I love your mini adventures!
I love your auction Videos! I only wish I could find some of these auctions!
It is entertaining Lyle. It's great to see this stuff go to someone who truly loves it.

I did not get wet but thanks for taking me along.
lol
Great video, sorry for the wet tools, but Kudos to your wife for her efforts in assisting the clean up!!
My Father In Law (who went to many auctions) would say "park at the auction in the direction you are going to leave" I enjoy these video's.

Thank You, and your wife for the video. Looking forward to part 2.
I especially liked the micrometer with the exposed screw; very early.
You're lucky you live in an area that has these auctions. Looks like lots of fun. Suggestion though: how about sharing the wealth and doing another EBAY auction on the excess stuff you acquired....you can even make a few $$$. Just a thought...I'm in
I hope to do that in January, if I get time
The man had good taste in tools
Nice haul. Gotta commend the Mrs. for helping to save the day.
An Edsel Maintenance Manual!!!!!! See... some of us stick all the way to the end! You are so fortunate to be somewhere where they have so many tool auctions!
I love it when you go to the auction,to bad the weather didn't cooperate, thanks for the video and for what you do to support the cause.🤗😎🤗😎
👍

Wish I could get my wife trained up like that. She still complains about chips in the shower... You are my Hero Lyle!! 👆👍🤩
Hello Don
Very good wife for helping you .

Plenty of times I’ve been caught up in the action and paid more than I wished for stuff I didn’t need. Keep doing what you are doing Mr. Pete.
Thanks for the video.
Morning Mr Pete! Love the plunder!
👍
Good set of spanner wrenches!
I have my Dad's L.C. Smith 16 ga bbl that he was given by his Dad when he made the all state football team in 1946. Beautiful piece.
👍
I love seeing old tools at auctions , I wished I lived in a industrial area , auction around here may have some craftsman’s tool but nothing like I get to see when you go to a auction and show us . Too bad it was raining ,Thank you for dealing with the rain .

Glad you rescued all those poor wet tools into a new warm dry home. #toolsneedlovetoo!
Great haul Mr.Pete! Too bad it rained! Thanks for sharing with us! We enjoyed the video!
Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed.
Thank you much. Stay warm and dry.
You should be proud of what you have, and if people don't like it to heck with them!
No way I'm going to turn this video off!

That encyclopedia of modern firearms is a fantastic reference material. I hope it was salvageable.
Mrs Peterson is a keeper !
I have been thinking ..
Your mantra may change ..
" The man who dies with the most tools has the best estate auction "
🥰🍻
lol
It's always a bummer when tool hunting and I expand my radius out towards Illinois and Michigan, so much for so little but so far away! Meanwhile a mini lathe in my neighborhood goes for a grand or more.
Very nice haul Mr. P.. you should seriously consider a dehumidifier for your shop.. They keep things dry.. Thx for taking us along for the ride..
In my opinion you did excellent you the gun books a valuable too keep up the good work!
Oh go ahead and brag, brag away Lyle, you are a great auction tool seeker. Looking forward to part deux
A great haul Lyle!
Just love your road trips

Love the Stanley planes and admire those that did and can use them
the machinist's bedside reader is a great one, pretty hard to find too

Great score Mr. Pete. Can’t wait for part 2. 👍👍👍
I have a lot of extra credit i want to improve my grade . Good video.
I'll take the rain this time of Year.... If it's raining it's warm
I spied a very old Starrett Mic on the table. Looks like 1st gen model. Nice find!
I am also looking forward to part 2. You are living the dream. LOL Auctions with that amount of good Starrett stuff are a rare deal down here where I am at.
What a shame to see all those precision tools getting wet like that. Glad you rescued some of them .
Nice haul. Just the kind of stuff I need more of.
Good morning Mr Pete. Yes, it's wet, cold and miserable, but sometimes that makes the best auction deals!
Nice score on the books!
Neat stuff Mr. Pete.
Man those planer box lids are cool
I think you did well for a $1 on that box of old gunsmithing books! (And everything else too.) That information is valuable when it's needed.
👍
Bummer with the rain. I have a lot of extra credit point saved up, kind of like green stamps. When do I get a catalog to trade in those points?
Some great stuff there. Those Bedside Readers sell for quite a sum these days. It may pay for the entire haul 😉 Looking forward to part 2.
Lyle. I think you have lost it. However, I did stick around for the "extra credit" because I needed to be entertained. Thanks for the video.
It's a mini Adventure For Old men.
Sure wish they had decent auctions at affordable prices near me. Maybe one day 🤷🏼♂️ I’ll live through you and your auction hunting 🤗
Same here.
Nice haul on the tools but the bedside reader from the dollar box is a really nice find they are hard to get at any price
Yea
You got to get out of the house. Might as well go to an auction.
