Fixing YLOD for Playstation 3: Delid the PS3 Fat Cell in 30 seconds.

You need a steel blade that is 0.15mm thick and can flex, no more. You can buy sheets of this on aliexpress, search for Steel S304 thin plate sheet foil 0.15mm. You then need a handle. I will look at making some blades that work on generic handles, otherwise please support NSCModz and buy his tool.

Most discourse over delidding is about how dangerous and failure-prone it is to do it.
Someone made a tool for the GPU but it was always about the fear of the CPU.
You just did it in 40 seconds and made it look like a non issue.
Is this technique, tool, experience, or what?

It's a combination of tool and technique, i've also had plenty of experience but I can tell you this delid is no different than my first one with the right tool. The tool needs to be 0.15mm steel blades, S304 sheet steel is thin and flexible but you can put an edge on it. You then just need a handle. The technique worth mentioning is when you get to the corners make the adjustments in the way I do then rotate the board. You need to have a firm grip with your supporting hand on the opposite side of the board as it does require a reasonable amount of force. You can somewhat reduce this force with heat to the cell but that then introduces the cell to potential damage.

Nice one bro. With the time and practice you gonna do it in just 20 Secs like NSC without problems :) Add always a bit grease to the blade, it will cut like butter :) But it's not about how fast, its about how safe 😀
