There are two different "Dawg"'s... At 1:23 , Dawg is lighter brown, with white down the middle of face. At 2:50, Dawg , is darker brown , with a solid brown face .He also looks younger than the other Dawg. They are both cute tho.
The original Dog was older and passed away not long after the end of the second season. He was replaced by a younger Dog that had white added to his face to appear older.

my favorite scene with Dog was in the episode "Try and Catch Me". When they were at the beach and he said " he LOVES the beach". And Abigail said "how do you know? " and he replied "it makes him frisky" then he put Dog down and said "Now dont go anywhere, stay". And Dog walks away and he goes " hes trained". I lose it every time. Such an endearing moment

Something I’m sad about is that to my knowledge we never know what name Columbo gave the dog (if he gave him a name at all that is) I was kinda hoping he went with the doctor’s suggestion and named him Fido tbh
