Honestly, TH-cam keeps shoving stuff about this Jerma fellow down my throat, even though I refuse to watch the videos, out of spite more than anything, somehow he manages to slip through the cracks and reach me anyway.
It's because Columbo is fairly timeless. We all love a good detective story where the pompous well-off guy who arrogantly believes he's committed the perfect crime has his alibi picked apart until he admits defeat. The PS3 _did_ have games, eventually.
you see of course, a crafty killer woulda claimed he was playing Final Fantasy Tactics instead, but columbo always makes them try and use the easy excuses. Truly a timeless show.
The “PlayStation (number larger than 3) has no games is a timeless joke and has been relevant for the ps3, ps4 (it still is for that one) and ps5. It’ll probably apply for the ps6 and ps7 when those come out

Even though it’s a meme there has never been a more accurate portrayal of Columbo. Most episodes are just as goofy as this and I used to watch it every night of the week. An absolute classic.
I would absolutely, unironically, watch an entire movie in this style. Like, I love the idea of a classic murder mystery movie like this, but all of the dialogue is slightly tweaked to make it funnier and more memable.
Just a 2 hour conversation that just keeps "oh, one more thing"ing? Well, it's not exactly this style, but otherwise Knives Out is pretty bang on to that description if you've not watched it yet.
Not gonna lie, the shift from KH to FF7 with Cloud as the common factor was a stroke of momentary genius. I'd have admitted guilt the second he called out my PS3 not being able to play PS2 games.
I'll randomly say "Now how can you be playing your ps3 when the ps3 has no games." To my friend on discord. That line has lived rent free in my head for 2 years
The dialog is interstellar, I laughed several times when watching this. Seeing serious middle-aged men from another time talking about gamer things and knowing that Jack Cassidy's character is a gamer and a Twitch streamer is beyond hilarious xD

Thanks gianni, because of these memes i end up discovering Columbo and talked to my dad to watched together, he really end it up loving it, shame that we finish it now and amazing work with the script it really feels like watching a gotcha scene
it's been two months, but i thought i'd give a couple encouraging words, yes he may be gone, but as long as you keep fond memories of him, as long as you keep him in your heart, he'll live on, the one thing anyone ever wants to is to be remembered once they pass on, to know they made an impact on the world, no matter how tiny that impact was.
This is literally so perfect, I can't stand it! Not only are the voices very good impressions of either actor, you captured their inflections and everything, AND the particular cadence and style of written dialogue that the series is known for. Somebody is a real fan of columbo.
I rewatched this funny little meme video a few days ago, then later found out that I could watch columbo on peacock. Am now 6 episodes in. Its actually a really really great detective show, Peter falk is amazing, and this video gets the nuances of lieutenant columbo down perfectly
I used to work at a retro games store and tried on multiple occasions repairing the NEC capacitors on the CECHA01 PS3 (backwards compatible model). That particular model of PS3 fails all the time because of bad caps, it's one of the main reason why they're so rare. Basically, this video felt like a call out to my soul.
My parents love colombo and when i showed this to them they thought that this was absolutely brilliant because of how well it mimics the writing and the voice of both colombo and the jack cassidy is nice too
Everything about this is perfect, from the way the perp gets annoyed at the repeated questions, to Columbo revealing he already investigated something and was just fishing for information.
Columbo seems like the type of detective that, if he were real, would probably find a tiny mistake made by an actual serial killer and use that as the smoking gun to determine who the killer is.
@@captnduck I wouldn't say he only goes after rich bastards but rather that quite litteraly every story deals with rich bastards. True but I still really liked the series
"The PS3 has no games" is still funny to me, this was more excellent content. A shame I've never actually seen any canon Columbo, but I've got this feeling you do it justice.
As a big fan of Columbo, your feelings are spot on. He does this series justice :)
Looks like it's on the free streaming services
As someone who has only seen the episode of Columbo with Leonard Nimoy, this is not accurate at all because there's no Leonard Nimoy.
I watch this video every day. I'm not sure why.
Did you watch today?
It’s because it’s that good
Did you watch today?
@@bees7798 Yup.
It’s time for your daily viewing, Austin.
Love how the victim of this gamer murder is suggested to be Mr. Jeremy Elbertson
What's the reference? I'm not familiar :D
@@IntrusiveThot420 Jeremy Elbertson is the real name of Jerma985, an e-clown
@@WakiTheCroc gianni is so impeccable with the references in his scripts 😂
@@WakiTheCroc Elbertson is one of his pseudonyms, not his real name. Dunno if he really likes his real name shared all that much so I won't post it here, but it's easy to look up if you're curious.
@@Em0srawk There is a reason he refers to himself as Elbertson, so yeah, no need to talk more about it.
“What’s your favorite Columbo episode?”
“It’s complicated.”
"Look here, mister! To accuse me of something as dreadful as murder, in my own home! I've never seen that controller before in my life, and I can prove it! I've had my dual shock controller since the console released, and I'd never play without its rumble features."
"Oh, of course sir. Sorry to inconvenience you, I'll get outta your hair. Have a nice day.
Oh, but there is one thing. You said you had your controller since launch, and that does check out. But the PS3 didn't launch with DualShock controllers, they had Sixaxis instead. Now Sixaxis, that was some interesting tech. They could read the motion of the controller as inputs in the game. But see, those fine nerds over at Sony couldn't figure out how to fit that alongside the rumble in the controller, so those controllers didn't have that feature. Now tell me, 'cause all this mumbo-jumbo is going over my head; how would you be playing with rumble if you ain't got one of those Dualshocks?"
Bravo sir bravo columbo would be proud
I'm grinning ear to ear, good job
@MageBurger idk, I was just having fun and I didn't know the measurements of the different controllers. My bad.
The Peter Falk impression is very good and the writing captures the heart and soul of classic Columbo episodes, but I am beyond impressed at anyone doing a Jack Cassidy impression at all, much less such a flawless one. Please keep these coming.
"GOOD DAY COLUMBO. IM TRYING TO SLEEP. YOU CAN LEAVE NOW."
"Alright, I'll get out of your hair... Oh, um, gee, I forgot to say this earlier but-"
*Screams of agony*
"Huh, he cracked earlier than I expected."
It is genuinely *shocking* how accurate to the show your performance as Columbo is, Gianni. The voice, the mannerisms, sound design, it's like Falk himself is doing this.
Everything I learn about Jerma has been against my will. I'm curious to see how much I can learn from this method
Search "Rat Movie: Mystery of the Mayan Temple" on TH-cam and watch the video. This is not a request. 🔫🤬
Did you know that Jerma once threw up an entire sleeve of Oreos in his mother's bed during his adult life?
@@LgMONSTAa and that happened quite recently too
Honestly, TH-cam keeps shoving stuff about this Jerma fellow down my throat, even though I refuse to watch the videos, out of spite more than anything, somehow he manages to slip through the cracks and reach me anyway.
Yeah, that streamer is FUCKED.
I don't know how, but the "PS3 has no games" joke somehow managed to be more outdated than Columbo itself.
Great work as always!
It's because Columbo is fairly timeless. We all love a good detective story where the pompous well-off guy who arrogantly believes he's committed the perfect crime has his alibi picked apart until he admits defeat.
The PS3 _did_ have games, eventually.

The PS3 doesn't even use an external memory card to save games, and excellent bluff from the lieutenant.
Not to mention the card he held up was an original PS1 memory card, something the perp would have recognized since he himself owns PS1 games.
you see of course, a crafty killer woulda claimed he was playing Final Fantasy Tactics instead, but columbo always makes them try and use the easy excuses. Truly a timeless show.
he nailed jack cassidy's smug voice
every time columbo goes "oh, one more thing" i get giddy with excitement
Nearly 3 minutes of “modernized” Columbo. Beautiful.
The best part is that this joke could be relevant again thanks to the PS5’s limited library. :V
Sad thing is unlike the PS3, the PS5 hasn’t been getting a bunch of kino games later after launch.
The “PlayStation (number larger than 3) has no games is a timeless joke and has been relevant for the ps3, ps4 (it still is for that one) and ps5. It’ll probably apply for the ps6 and ps7 when those come out
Their voices are so auditorily aesthetically pleasing
Well, woddencha know it, there's a whole series like this on that eh streamin' service... "Peacock", isn't it? You see they got this show called "Columbo". Sounds just like it. My wife turns on an episode every night.
@@barragethree5047 I'll note that while Peacock is free, it's "technically" only usable in the US. If you're from outside the US a VPN can bypass that though. I'll also note that you'll have to download an apk and be in airplane mode if you wanna watch it on your phone.
It is well worth the effort though. Columbo is a fantastic show to put on before bed.
Gianni doesn't disappoint!
“But sir…”
“How could you have your wires crossed? It’s a very simple task, yet you stood by the panel for more than a minute?”
I just love how they both agree that the PS3 has no games, like at all, aside from old PS2 and PS1 games. This is incredible!
Y’all remember when Franklin invited Columbo into his gamer pad, and the two of them played Smash Bros? Probably one of my favorite scenes.

@@RiggedDynamo truly a PSYCHOTIC surprise

Even though it’s a meme there has never been a more accurate portrayal of Columbo. Most episodes are just as goofy as this and I used to watch it every night of the week. An absolute classic.
I like to think that the guy columbo is talking to didn't commit the murder, he was just embarrassed about the game he was playing.
Did you know there's an entire series like this?

Having Jerma be the victim is the cherry on top. Well done once again, good sir.

As someone who binged 6 seasons of Columbo within a week...
This has all the makings of a canon episode
The dialog is interstellar, I laughed several times when watching this. Seeing serious middle-aged men from another time talking about gamer things and knowing that Jack Cassidy's character is a gamer and a Twitch streamer is beyond hilarious xD

I lost my father just over a year ago. I know the pain, buddy. I hope you're doing alright.

hang in there!
it's been two months, but i thought i'd give a couple encouraging words, yes he may be gone, but as long as you keep fond memories of him, as long as you keep him in your heart, he'll live on, the one thing anyone ever wants to is to be remembered once they pass on, to know they made an impact on the world, no matter how tiny that impact was.
Your father didn't die. You're misremembering. You have to misremember, see- its better than the alternative.
This is literally so perfect, I can't stand it! Not only are the voices very good impressions of either actor, you captured their inflections and everything, AND the particular cadence and style of written dialogue that the series is known for. Somebody is a real fan of columbo.
Fascinating. A weird paradoxial universe where gaming consoles were invented earlier then expected.
Along with the internet in general and it's culture.
This video cured my congestion, very good job sir.
"You missed that one, try another!"
Mr. Elbertson. The murderer killed Jerma-
My parents love colombo and when i showed this to them they thought that this was absolutely brilliant because of how well it mimics the writing and the voice of both colombo and the jack cassidy is nice too
"My wife loves that little Sora guy." 😆
This makes me so giddy as a Columbo fan, and the Jerma refrence..Outstanding! i love each and every one of these mini masterpieces.
Yeah the columbo show is really all about that. And the best thing is, columbo only goes after rich bastards. Go watch some episodes.
@@captnduck I wouldn't say he only goes after rich bastards but rather that quite litteraly every story deals with rich bastards. It's like how 90% of all couples shown in the series consist of an old guy and his girlfriend/wife who's like 20 years younger than him. Supposedly, that was the world of Hollywood at the time and the writters just put that in their show. Hell, even Peter Falk's second wife was 22 years younger than him
