I thought about putting some skateboard tape or rubberized skateboard tape on the top and bottom where my fingers connect during deployment, when carrying IWB.
One thing. That I like about it is how thinly ground that knife is. 0.010” behind the edge hollow grind. I would like to see them update the steel to 3v and keep the same edge geometry, it would be like getting custom knife geometry at hopefully an affordable price.
I have thought this was a great carry choice as well, especially considering the cost. I have been carrying mine IWB, but the sheath kinda messed up a pair of my Calvin's, unfortunately. I made a little paracord lanyard, but I might use hockey tape on the top of the sheath. Both Chiefs have the same problem with the draw and where the knife is in the hand upon the draw. I tried to go deep with the pointer and thumb and dry sharp side up, with the butt in my palm, so my hand won't write up on the blade on a thrust. I gave it a convex grind as well, using my worksharp ko
I've seen some inconsistency in quality control in the more recent knives, but then I have a larger sample to consider, so I can't really say if it's that much worse than before. I do have a couple of pre-CSM knives that are rough in some ways, and some excellent ones. Their swords are another matter because there are big differences between the India vs Chinese made models.
Another great review. I discovered your channel recently and noticed you are on a cold steel kick. If you dont have a counter point XL, MidwayUSA has a great deal on them as I am writing this ($35).
That grip can be easily taken care of with some gun rap tape.

Wish they'd release an additional version with a slightly longer blade.
Agreed. Love the knife, wish it were bigger
I love this channel
Thanks!
Always good to find the knife that fills your needs, so do you feel about new cold steel manufacturing products post Lynn Thompson ?

Wow, a CS XL that has beat the Luzons' price! Nice
Nice Video as allways. Could you test the new Joker Bowie 9.45 in N695 Steel? It looks like an awesome Bowie.
I just added it to my wish list. Thanks for the recommendation!
Awesome vid here, as usual ! Cheers 👍
Thanks!
Hope to see the Tanto Lite reviewed or compared to this.
Next up is the Outdoorsman Lite
