Well another great video so thank you for that ,I have a few Mora and love the Companion I have them paired with my larger blades for all kinds of camp work /bush craft jobs and have never had a problem with them. I always liked the look of the Finn series and you just gave me the best reasons to add a Finn Hawk or two to my collection .Thanks for your work it is as always very much appreciated .

It is a very nice utility knife

I like the Finn Hawk. Very light knife for the work that its capable of. I found myself checking if its still on my belt. I bought it to replace a Mora I wrecked on my last trip. It looks nicer and grips better. The Mora however held its edge noticeably longer. Still a great camp/backup knife.

I'm putting this one up against a Mora Bushcraft soon.

Thanks! I went ahead and gave the grip that negative thumb ramp for a smoother spine transition. I really do like this knife.

I personally like the finn wolf. I keep one in my survival bag/fire starter gear bag.
Its a bag i can grab that has everything to start a fire rig a shelter and have light to work.
I also carry a traditional mora in my backpack.
It's really hard to beat the folding scandi. To me its a absolute perfect survival knife.
My idea of a survival knife doesn't aline with modern marketing. I was raised when survival training was taught with folding knives.
An since im 55 id say I've survived. Lol.

I just ordered an OD version to see if my bias was about the color, and to start fresh with an edge I didn't mangle.

@@michaelrizzo5523 I can say that blue is not a very manly blue especially for us not so young. Lol mine is the old green model. I will say my most used coldsteel is a blue broken skull. But that’s a darker color. I don’t like to be one of those brand fanboys but coldsteel is hard to beat for quality and price.

Regarding the tightly fitting sheath, I came up with a simple solution by adding a small lanyard loop at the end of the handle. I insert the pinky finger through that lanyard loop while gripping the handle. I then use the thumb to push off the top of the belt loop, in lieu of a thumb ramp. Works extremely well for a safe and controlled extraction of my Finn Hawk. Just found your channel and I am very impressed with your reviews. You got a new subscriber.

I love mine, been my edc on the pocket for a year and a half. It's a better steel and last longer than the mora in 12c27n( companion, eldris etc,) The mora garberg in 12c28n is really good very similar to the fin hawk just heavier.

I've been thinking about a Garberg or a Pathfinder. But I really like this one.

@@michaelrizzo5523 the handle on this one is way better than the garberg, modified the garberg handle on mine with a finger groove because it's had plastic and not grippy, way too sharp for finger slips!

Definitely, and I've tried a few more Moras. CS fell short with these sheaths.

I have 3 companions and a Mora Bushcraft in stainless steel with the bright orange handle. It’s ok. The blade stock is substantially thicker on the bushcraft, and the blade is rough ground all around; not a nice polished finish on the blade, like I enjoy. It’s a tough knife but I like the companion more for value per dollar and because the blade is much more slicey.

Never noticed before the butt end of the knife looks like a hawk
