    Title is misleading, there was no actual diagnoses. You just repeatedly described the problem. Nearly five minutes was rambling about the alternator, which could never have been the problem since the battery wasn't dead and jumping it didn't solve the issue. Lots of useless information and no accurate conclusion.

    Come to find out after replacing all the starters in my Commander and the wire, it’s actually a faulty relay that will connect and short inside the relay. (Basically works when it wants to) it usually didn’t work when when there was moister in the air or it was humid out.

    I have a 2006 Jeep Commander and I’m going to be replacing my 4th starter in a year on warranty from autozone. Unfortunately it’s not the wires going to the starter, it’s the starters because every time I replace it they test the old starter and say it’s bad. So I’m thinking next time the starter goes I’m going to purchase a new starter from a different auto parts store because even though it’s free and under warranty I’m still loosing money because of tow charges and time off work because it’s my work vehicle.

    Hey bro, I had the same problems with my 2010 jeep commander a year ago. My issues were bad key fob transponder, and it wouldn't start at all. I bought 2 new key fobs and had them programmed to my jeep and no more problems. This was only 1 of the many problems I've had over the years. I also replaced starter, battery, and transmission control module. I had tell you the update because after key fob was replace work ok for awhile and now same issue as you, no crank, no start, don't know why.

    im sitting on the same situation with my commander and the starter. I am about to call AAA to take it to the mechanic and AZ has a new starter that I am about to pick up

    It is none bvb of the above. The battery alternator and starter are good I would bet. Have this same issue. It is in the main wire harness.
    Try 5 jumpink jacks and 3 laps around the jeep. Then clap your hands and turn the key.

    Im having same issue i replaced the starter from napa about 1 year and half ago so u sure its the starter?

      There might be something else wrong, but every time I change the starter it works for me. I just put a new starter in about 2-3 months ago and it needs to be replaced again because it just did it to me again and I had to get a tow $75, glad I wasn’t far away!

    How do I get to that yellow wire?

  • @zamfambam
    @zamfambam 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mine is literally doing the same. Click no start but after I jump it with jumper cables and my truck it starts up. I figured alternator because if it was a bad starter even jumping it wouldn’t have started the jeep. I even hit the starter and wiggled that yellow wire and still didn’t start, until I jumped it. Oh and I have a two week old battery. Also, took it to oreilys and autozone and they tested starter, alternator and battery everything checked good. I don’t know what the hell it is.

      Clean your terminals and make sure they are tight. Make sure your ground wire is connected and doesn't have rust covering it. Change your Fob Key battery.

      @@peterl6095 I’ll check again. So after about 8 hours of sitting. I went to start my jeep and no problem. Weird. It’s like if I don’t start it the battery will be too low and all I get is the click sound.

      This issue usually isnt the starter. Its in the main wire harness and or the relay. I assumed starter myself after typical diagnosis yet just before i was going to change the starter the jeep started again and has had jo issue for 2 months. This is an electrial issue.
