You might like to ask God's assistance that : 1. You discipline your body as written in Corinthians 9:27, NKJV: 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, 2. To bring all your thoughts in captivity to the obedience of Christ as written in 2 Corinthians 10:5, KJV: 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself AGAINST the knowledge of God, and BRINGING into captivity EVERY THOUGHT to the OBEDIENCE of Christ; 3. And ask God to reveal to you as written in Psalm 139:23-24, KJV 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. 4. That you always abide in the Lord and His Word abides in you as written in John 157, NKJV: 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, and all these in full obedience for the glory of God evey moment of every day till my last breath. Many blessings to you. Note: I used this myself and it has been very helpful.
I tell you the truth bro, you alone can pray your way to God. One of the easiest ways you can work firmly with God is through prayer. Prayer does not have to be long but I have realised that the more I pray, the closer I get with God and the farther I get from lusts. Prayer truly changes things
Also, realize that one of greatest keys to an effective prayer life is consistency. My pastor always says that a consistent prayer warrior does not fall even if he is praying wrongly. I really hope this helps.
A simple approach is spend time with Jesus daily in the Gospels. 1 chapter a day rinse and repeat as God guides you. This has improved my walk significantly.
I remember praying at my father’s bedside as he was dying, I prayed for God to deliver him and to save his life, he died 3 days later and when he passed, I got up from my knees and praised GOD, although it was God’s will to take him, I was comforted by the privilege of being able to petition God directly
Every time when Jesus prayed, He isolated Himself and found a silent place that is more easily to apply at night. Take the example when He prayed in the garden of Gethsemane. When you pray, renounce to yourself to put yourself in God hands and confide to Him. It implies total confidence towards our Creator. The ego and self reliance are the strongest enemy within us for praying, because as sinners we're intrinsically rebels towards God. Hoping this will help you. Trust in God and seek His treasures for thine heart and He will bring peace to you. God bless
My precious immigrant Papà prayed for 7 years - behind a horse, under the scorching summer sun and brutal winters- working the land to feed his family of 9 children. To be “on his knees” in prayer was, for my Papà, his relentless heartfelt supplications to his Maker for help. When, in time, he was blessed with abundance, and my children and I praised him for his business acumen, he had but one reason and belief for his wealth: “God had compassion on him.”
Now, I pray that God’s will is to clothe and envelope, those who have suffered slavery, infamies and illnesses in this lifetime, with His love and compassion and that He reward them with an eternal abode in His house of many mansions. I would be eternally grateful for my own family, whom He blessed in this life, to be allowed a glimpse and a tiny corner in the lowest ranks of His kingdom.
When I was six years old my teacher was a nun…she taught us how to pray…she said “ speak to Jesus every day as you would to your father…He is with you all the time so speak to Him in everything you do” ….I have done this all my life. I am 63.
Amen. I noticed the detail in Luke’s gospel this past week how Jesus spent the night praying right before choosing His apostles. The Almighty Creator Himself spending all night in prayer before making a big decision. Very eye-opening. Can’t believe I never noticed that detail before (God is awesome and gracious to let us constantly learn new things in His Word!) If Christ prayed before making a major decision how much more should we pray also!
Right before I was converted, I was weeping from my soul because I had been struggling from depersonalization for so long. And I was just at my end, and I saw the scene from the chosen the pool of Bethesda, and I never gut cried so hard in my life. 20 min later my mom comes over to drop me off something and said 3 people from walgreens asked her if they could pray for her, she said no, but you can pray for my son. So while I was go through this intense episode 3 people were praying for me blocks away, the depersonalizstion left me and I have never suffered with it since except for one time after therapy ! But it was very short lived. I was born again around the same time the DPDR left.
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John15:4-5

Thanks very, very much for this message, it inspired me to pray more. I do love messages about prayer and fasting. May God bless you and I am looking forward to the next message.
I think every believer knows a prayer warrior. I know one named Alice Avery. I also remember an African Christian who had his legs hacked off by Muslims. The man recovered and became callused on his knees as well as he continued his ministry despite his mutilation
How to pray... Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done in earth as in heaven give us this day our daily bread forgive us our debts as we forgive those who are indebted to us lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine kingdom is the power and glory FOREVER!. Pray as the Lord taught you how to pray.
Dear Andrew. This is exactly right. This is the instruction from our Teacher, JESUS. Next step is to understand the prayer so we can know how it relates to JESUS' FATHER as "Our FATHER " , the rest of the scriptures and our lives.
It actually stops at deliver us from evil. The last part was added later but not how Jesus taught the disciples. It was changed only in the Protestant Bibles
There are as many reasons why Our prayers go unanswered, but a quick look see may be to consider; enter His gates( think tabernacle) with Thanksgiving, enter His courts with praise... they washed in the laver(word) inside the outer court was the shewbread, the incense, the lampstand, and behind the veil was the chest of the presence with the cherubim upon the cover of the ark, but any uncleanness was cause for the high priest to lose his life. So what do we make of that covenant? That our God is far beyond what we can understand and His ways are vast as the cosmos It is by grace that we receive anything from him.
How often have we searched for authors who have penned books on the secret of getting your prayers answered, thinking that there's a magic element we haven't found yet? How often have we approached the Bible as a magic lamp that if we rub it God'll pop out and grant us our wishes like a genie?
Often many people think prayers to God mean begging God continuously. And usually the prayers are prayers of problems, not results expected, in great agitation of mind and spirit. It is written in Isaiah 43:26, KJV: Put Me in REMEMBRANCE; let US plead together; DECLARE thou, that thou mayest be justified. When facing a problem, let's identify the results expected then look for promises of God that promised us God's will in this matter ( write down the verse(s) ), and put God in remembrance of such promise(s) then state what we ask in Jesus' Name. And before we start asking let's see if there is anyone we hold grievances against because the Lord said in Mark 11:25, NKJV: 25. And when ye stand praying, FORGIVE, if ye have ought against any ( including ourselves ): that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Lord Jesus also said in Mark 11:23, KJV: 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall SAY unto this MOUNTAIN, Be thou REMOVED, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall NOT doubt in his heart, but shall BELIEVE that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall HAVE whatsoever he SAITH. So cast out our mountain ( problem ) in Jesus' Name, then stand firm on His promises we believe as the Lord promised in John 14:13, KJV: 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Then while the problem still exists we continue glorifying, praising, and worshipping Heavenly Father that we BELIEVE we receive what we asked because the Lord also promised in Mark 11:24, NKJV: 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, BELIEVE that ye receive them, and ye shall have them for it is written in Hebrews 11:1, NKJV: 11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Such is the magical elements of prayers as written in the Bible.
Enjoyed the video, but who entitled this “how to pray”? The title is a misnomer. I can to this video with an expectation on how to pray, but was disappointed.
I had to fast forward through the transcript to see if he was going to deal with unanswered prayer. He did not. I wish he had. It's the most unbearable thing in this life.
For a believer all prayer is answered. Sometimes the prayer request is granted and that makes us happy. Sometimes the prayer request is denied and that makes us sad. And sometimes the prayer request answer is delayed (which, to us, feels like it was denied). As an old guy, it’s been my experience, that a request is denied because there is something happening in the larger picture that we just can’t see though we may see it later (sometimes years later). With a request delayed, for me, it’s almost always because there was a lesson I needed to learn, or some maturing that I had to go through - and sometimes it’s delayed to get someone else properly positioned. But whatever the case, we just have to trust that God is good and that His will is what is ultimately best though it may not feel that way to us. I know, it’s easy to say “trust God” and much harder to do - but we must because God is good and He is not mean or vindictive - He truly does what is best. Maybe your prayers should include “God, help me to quickly recognize your answer.” Peace.
All prayers are answered - it's just that the human race needs to SEE now; needs to KNOW the answer themselves in this life; as well as honour and submit to God's plan, the Christian remnant of the human race needs more love for the others that benefit from our prayers.
When Jesus was finished praying, the disciples came up to him and asked "Lord, teach us to pray." So my question to anyone who wants to answer, how exactly was Jesus praying for this response from the disciples???
@staceycastleburystacey6551 Jesus found that most religions depend on a leader and a place to pray. For example, a priest, rabi, imam, etc. The building would be a church or mosque, etc. Jesus taught how to pray like the disciple Thomas said: "Go into your closet and pray, God will hear you!" You don't need that leader!
God always answers prayer otherwise He would be a liar. He says He hears us. Could it be that you are saying this because He is not answering in the way you want Him to? If God is our Creator, if He loves us, we need to trust in His sovereignty that He will answer according to His will and His timing - not according to our expectations. Take some time with Him, not presenting your petitions but rather communing with Him and glorifying Him. Then your heart will change
I don’t know where any of you got your education but I went to school where we were taught to start at the beginning of a book and read it all the way through so that we could understand that letters form words and words form sentences and sentences form paragraphs and paragraphs from chapters and chapters form whole stories and whole books!! Why do you skip around!?!?
The problem with what you said is that the Bible isn't one book but many and there is no particular order. Many people read the Bible entirely, many times. But understanding everything is not a prerequisite to be a teacher. The New Testament has the list of qualifications. Whatever you are saying, you are showing a gross ignorance about the new testament and the church.
Little Johnny, God has predestined the minority of people to be saved and go to heaven forever, and He has predestined the majority of people to be eternally damned and burn in the fires of hell. We have no idea, little Johnny, if God has predestined you to be forever damned or forever saved. We love you, little Johnny, but we accept the fact that God might not love you, and that He may have plans to send you to hell for your future sins. If you do find yourself one day burning in hell because He hasn’t elected to save you, just remember that we will always love you, even if God hates you. Take comfort knowing that we are not like God. We will be in heaven forever only because we were unconditionally chosen for salvation before we were born. That would be the only reason that we won’t be in hell with you if you find yourself there. It won’t be because of anything we did. So also take comfort in knowing that. It may not seem fair, but who are we to judge God? So again, if you find yourself in hell, remember that we will always love you as we forever worship the God who loved us but who hated you, the God who sent His Son to die for us but not for you. Please, we ask, don’t let it bother you-if you find yourself in hell-that we love the God who hated you and showed you no mercy. We must accept the fact that God is sovereign, and He does what He pleases. My dear beloved Calvinist, will you teach that to your children or grandchildren? I suspect that your answer will be “never.” But why not? Why would you ever hide the wonderful “doctrines of grace,” the “Bible truth,” from your own children or grandchildren? TRUTH IN LOVE
Sproul is a person who believes in Replacement theology and not in the precious promises made to Israel. He is a hypocrite and is real close on being a false prophet in his stance on Israel, I am sorry to say. Scripture says that to those who have faith in Jesus, Abraham is our spiritual father, which is true. He needs to read the word of GOD.

It is written in Isaiah 43:26, KJV:
Put Me in REMEMBRANCE; let US plead together; DECLARE thou, that thou mayest be justified.
When facing a problem, let's identify the results expected then look for promises of God that promised us God's will in this matter ( write down the verse(s) ), and put God in remembrance of such promise(s) then state what we ask in Jesus' Name.
And before we start asking let's see if there is anyone we hold grievances against because the Lord said in Mark 11:25, NKJV:
25. And when ye stand praying, FORGIVE, if ye have ought against any ( including ourselves ): that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Lord Jesus also said in Mark 11:23, KJV:
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall SAY unto this MOUNTAIN, Be thou REMOVED, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall NOT doubt in his heart, but shall BELIEVE that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall HAVE whatsoever he SAITH.
So cast out our mountain ( problem ) in Jesus' Name, then stand firm on His promises we believe as the Lord promised in John 14:13, KJV:
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Then while the problem still exists we continue glorifying, praising, and worshipping Heavenly Father that we BELIEVE we receive what we asked because the Lord also promised in Mark 11:24, NKJV:
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, BELIEVE that ye receive them, and ye shall have them for it is written in Hebrews 11:1, NKJV:
11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Such is the magical elements of prayers as written in the Bible.

Pray for others before praying for yourself. Praying so you can have money, power or fame will not be listened to by God.
What are you on about?
