the instrument in case you guys were still wondering is a baglama. Three string guitar like instrument, HOWEVER it has adjustable frets, giving it a microtonal sound. It was actually Stu's learning to play the baglama that inspired KGLW's microtonal albums!

There is a big misunderstanding over here, this is Turkish Anatolian folk music with modern touches, it has nothing to do with the middle east.
Anatolia is like a continent, it is a mixture of South east Europe, balkans, black sea and west asia, which you could sum it up as a mediterranean country, I don't know where this middle east assumptions come from.

Someone probably said it already, but this band is half Dutch and half Turkish. The bassist, guitarist, drummer and percussionist are Dutch. The baglama/keyboard player and the girl are Turkish. They get their inspiration from the 70's Turkish psych rock surge.
That whole set is absolute fire. The female vocalist sings the first couple songs if you're keen for that.

There is Lots of great psych Rock from Turkey already from the 70ies
Please react to some of the original Turkish folk rock such as Öbür Dünya bu Cem Karaca or 'İnce ince kar yağar' by Selda Bağcan, two extraordinary voices of the 1970s Turkish folk-rock scene. You will not be disappointed. Selda hanım is still living and performing.

İts not Middle East. Anatolian turkish folk music. We are not arabic. Turkish language and cultere totaly different from them. Yes we are Muslim but we are seculer country.

Just search Altın Gün on TH-cam, make sure you don't watch those Hero's clips off their phone cameras as there terrible and TH-cam should ban them. This Is by far one of the best current bands and Wills become one of those all time classic bands, pretty big statement from a Greek man praising a Turkish band.
@@CCRIDER0712 Yes, I was referring to this specific clip, which I can't find. I have seen other kexp Altin Gun recordings. Maybe it is a region restriction thing (being in Sweden as I am). And yes this band is lovely, I've seen 'em live & bought their records ;)
