Bryant Young was an incredible football player and is a great person. His speech was moving and he is so well spoken. He had an amazing career playing for Notre Dame and the Niners. What a stand up guy, father, son, husband, teammate, friend and champion. Niners are lucky to have you always. Bryant you are the true definition of a 49er. BY you are a scholar, athlete and gentleman. Thank you for playing the game the way it is supposed to be played and being the amazing person you are.

A great and heartfelt speech by Mr. Young. Having been a 49er fan my entire life, Bryant Young is one of my favorite players. He's always been a strong, silent leader while playing and now we see the still waters run deep with this man. I congratulate him and his supportive family on his induction to the HOF!

I saw Bryant Young play 2x in person, both while he was at ND. At South Bend vs Pitt in 1991 and at West Lafayette, In vs Purdue in 1993. He was double-teamed on every single play in BOTH games.
He starred w/ the 49ers especially after his horrible leg injury.
This is a day long overdue.

In summer 2008, when I was sixteen, I was very lucky to get a job working in the 49ers video department during training camp. Bryant Young was recently retired and hanging around the building during camp practices and one afternoon he wandered into the video department's office in between the two-a-day practices. He was saying hello to the guys while I sat at a nearby table working on a music lesson booklet for bass guitar on my off time. I was crazy nervous, he was a favorite of mine and was the first player I had the chance to see up close and personal when he wandered over and sat next to me. He looked at the booklet and said "Oh bass guitar! I play some bass, are you learning?". He then began a dialogue with me about music, performance, technique and practice. He spoke to me in such a friendly way that I forgot for the moment that he was THE Bryant Young I had watched for years...he made me feel seen and inspired me to go home and practice every day. I later had the good fortune of becoming a professional touring musician and have often thought back to that day when I came in contact with a greatness that helped propel me to my dreams. Thank you Bryant for being not only a Hall of Fame Player but also a Hall of Fame Person. A belated congratulations from one of the many people you inspired along your path.

Congrats Bryant!! I'm a Cowboys fan so you know how I feel about the 49ers, but since you have MS roots from my hometown and your grandfather, Mr. Albert, was the nicest man I always cheered for you only (lol). Great speech and well deserved honor.
Respect for the Cowboys. 9ers wouldn’t have won that Super Bowl when BY was a rookie unless Dallas pushed them to get Deion etc.

I was born after the 49ers glory years, so I remember a lot more losing seasons than winning ones.
However, there was one constant that showed up everything week and kicked ass and that was Bryant Young.
Bryant Young was one of my favorite 49ers growing up because no matter how bad or good the team was, he was there accounting for multiple blockers to stop the run or allowing players like Ken Norton JR, Derrick Smith or Patrick Willis to make tackles.

He had many chances to get traded to other more competitive teams with more success but that man was willing to take all the burden to play his career even when the team wasn’t very good such respect

For all that he's accomplished two things stand out: 1) That he is a great family man, teammate, and a humble servant to his community. 2) Of all the awards & accolades as a player he's received, the one that describes him the best is that he's an 8-time recipient of the 49ers' annual Len Eshmont award, which is the team's most prestigious award given to the 49ers player who best exemplifies the "inspirational and courageous play" of its namesake. No other recipient has won the award more than 3 times.

These hall of fame speech are sometimes funny, always inspiring, and then this. As a father myself I feel his pain. Speaking as a father, any career success is meaningless in comparison to his loss. God bless him and give him strength to continue.

You tube is unlistenable these days. Too many ads which is especially annoying during inspiring speeches like this. I am forced to listen to podcasts or I’ll just get audiobooks if I need to listen inspirational stuff. You tube had just gotten awful recently with too many ads. I understand the need for some ads but not the way it is now of late.
