I'll never forget the night after Favre's dad passed away. That was the most magical night of football i've ever witnessed. The Raiders fans were some of the most brutal fans in sports and even they were rooting for Green Bay that night, it was such an explainable feeling watching that game.
I met his brother Scott. I was talking to him regarding my Dad having Cancer and told him how sorry I was about his loss. I can tell that meant a lot to him.

I live in Green Bay and have been a Packer fan since 1951. I have seen all of the greats play and no one ever brought more excitement to the Packers and the community and the state of Wisconsin then Brett.
The courts decided Favre will have to pay the $ 730,000 in interest he accrued for the 1.1 million he stole from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to fund his daughters volleyball facility. He played dumb to receiving money by the governor he did not do anything for, paid back only after being found guilty, and then slowed walked payments at his own convenience racking up interest penalties. His lawsuits against those that called him out on it were dropped in the courts. The state auditor's attorney said “It boggles the mind that Mr. Favre could imagine he is entitled to the equivalent of an interest-free loan of $1.1 million in taxpayer money, especially money intended for the benefit of the poor”. Personally I liked him at one time, but he is a particularly bad person in real life.
Brett Favre has got to be one of the dopest athletes of all time, dude loved to play the game and it showed on and off the field.
I can't believe he's in the hall of fame, I never thought he would be in it because he never would retire to get inducted. GOAT

Farve is all heart. This made him fun to watch and easy to root for.
“Most fun to watch!” That ought to be a category in itself. Going to a ballgame just so you can watch one person play. In my opinion, Brett heads that category. Throwing one, two or more interceptions and then following that up with two, three touchdowns. Getting killed on the field and getting right back up and in the huddle (reminded me of Walter Payton). Slinging that ball anyway he saw fit, disobeying his coach but winning games and setting records.

Aizen Sosuke Bleach has been a disappointment. I don't hate the series, but it just went downhill after soul socitey arc besides some of the fights. This arc started off awesome, but then Kubo lost his way and it crashed. Will be interesting to see how he ends it.

Brett Favre is outspoken about not being a perfect human being.... just a guy with true grit and determination to become a better person.... addiction, personal issues.... I live in new england, its 2021 and damned near sacralidge to say anything other than Brady being the GOAT.... this man is a MAN who KNOWS it wasnt just his abilities but the support of others te that got him here.

This was definitely one of the most honest, incredible speeches ever. It's unfortunate there are some idiots on TH-cam who decide to post stupid stuff and not honor Brett for his career. Was he perfect? No! Did he make mistakes? Yes! But you know what? He will always be a legend on and off the field.

To add to your point, we're all human...we make dumb decisions and have to live with them. This man did and IMO that's what makes a man a man, admit you did wrong apologize and don't do it again. I will forever admire Favre after watching Super Bowls won and that divine game against Oakland. Growing up a Packers fan in Texas was rough enough, only got the Packers games when the Cowboys weren't playing, and thankfully that Monday night they weren't :)

EXCELLENT COMMENT; I was a rabid fan of Packers, / Brett Favre in his Era. Even though I am in WI, a Packer fan/ I totally followed FAVRE'S career after he left the Packers/ with Jets/ Vikings. That 1st year that he was with the Vikings/ damn he had a good year/ stinks that the Vikings lost that championship game vs Saints. I wanted FAVRE to get to another SUPER BOWL. Yes, the next year, was a total downer for FAVRE/ Vikings. All the punishment he took, took it's toll. Was Favre's last season. Yes he was all heart, and always exciting to watch
Favre has my respect. Inspirational. He talked more of family members achievements than his. He's a lucky guy You can see that his wife was a huge part of his success. His family for that matter. Maybe it's what gave him the strength to do all that he did? I miss him.
As fun to watch as any player who ever put on a suit. Favre held nothing back, as the toughest competitor I ever have ever seen. Holds the record for the most consecutive starts, and that was no accident. He played beaten up, broken up and torn up, like no other quarterback ever. His rocket arm and mental toughness are unparalleled. I want this guy on my team.

Brett's HOF speech is just as heart wrenching as Jim Kelly's was in 2002 ! Believe me, I know- I was there in 2002 for Jim's Hall of Fame Enshrinement ! That was a weekend I will never forget !

If you know Brett at all, you know he is long-winded, lol! But I love him for it because he always wears his heart on his sleeve and just wings it. Improvisation was his game and its who he is as a person.

he is easily one of the top 5 greatest qbs ever.period...yes he threw away countless championships games..but his abilities to take his team's there over and over again from 25 to 40 his team's were consistently on the cusp of winning a championship,that along with the stats puts him in the conservation of one of the best to do it...period
I have met Brett, in the 90s, a summabich gunslinger for the Packers, he had yet to win a SB then, but I was a huge fan, I got lucky to go to a training camp to see him play and he was about to enter the practice field, with a cowboy hat on, I said, "Yo Favre!" He looked right at me, and I asked if he could sign this football card (had him wearing a falcon jersey) But it's one of the most amazing moment of my life (also met Sterling Sharpe who I was a huge fan too, great combo of these two) I wish I could watch a videotape of that moment... thank you Brett!

I have to say i am a tom brady fan, but this man is the only player ever to be in the same class as TB12. He is the only quarterback that i liked better. He is the toughest, most talented player i have ever seen suit up. I pray that his retirement is a smooth relaxing one. Enjoy your days as you walk into the sunset. Wow. I’m blown away by this speech, I’ve always liked Brett but this just added a ton of respect for him. What a humble man.

Every time I watch this speech I think of him as a guy drawing up sandlot plays and just having fun, and look where the fun of the game took him. No matter how hard he got hit, he got back up to play some more. True grit and determination, desire and love, pain and agony, the thrill of victory and elation, made it so we could all watch in amazement a true legend of the game. Thank you Brett for the memories.

Too many QBs and different offensive schemes that each QB ran, so I don't think any QB can be called the "best QB ever"... but WITHOUT A DOUBT, FAVRE WAS THE MOST EXCITING QB TO EVER PLAY THE GAME! From underhand passes to left hand tosses to sideline pranks to tackling his own players in the end zone after a TD... NOBODY played the game like him.

I think Brett Favre is relatable because he had the skills to play the game while carrying his heart outside to the world. He married a good woman that went through a lot with him.

NO player has EVER done MORE for a franchise than Favre did for Green Bay... When he came to GB, The Packers were the "Cleveland Browns" of the NFL. They hadn't won in years and there was even talk of folding the franchise because they had fallen to the bottom of the league financially and had little hope of creating the revenue that Dallas or New York could. When you went to Green Bay back then, your career was over. It was just to get one last paycheck before exiting the league. But Favre changed all of that. He put fans in the seats wherever he went. Ron Wolf got Reggie White to come to Green Bay because White saw that things were beginning to turn around and that was because of Favre. I was in a sports bar the day Favre came off the bench to replace The Majik man. There were TWO of us in that bar watching the Packers that Sep. day. 2 years later there were 200. That was Favre. Say what you will about Brady, Manning, and Montana, but NO ONE has been the face of a franchise like Favre and NO ONE did more with less. The only HOF players he had was White and Moss. He played for 7 different head coaches. T.B. P.M. & J.M. played for a combined 5 head coaches. He didn't have the luxury of a dome, perfect west coast weather, a HOF core of WR's, a HOF coach for his entire career, or an O-line that could give him 8 seconds to throw, or 4-5 rec. sets to throw a 2 yd. hitch passes to. He had to compete against the 9er dynasty, the Cowboy Dynasty, and the pretty good Viking team with Moss & Co. in his own division. He didn't have rules that forbade touching the QB below the waste or forbid helmet to helmet contact. He didn't get the privilege of his WR's not being touched after 5 yds. He took more shots head on than TB PM & JM combined, yet he never missed a start. Vicodin....? That was ONE year...! He once lead the league in passing with a broken thumb on his passing hand...! He carried his teams for more than TB, PM, or JM ever had to. It was Favre who got Lambeau field remodeled, put GB back on the map, gave a re-birth to "Packer nation" and under his leadership, became the winningest QB in NFL history. And what QB could play from 1916-2016, in any era, any system, any coach, and under any rules...? That makes him the GOAT....! Say what you will about Favre, but his kind will NEVER be seen again.
Well said 1perfectstranger; maybe a "tad" over the top, but you spoke many truths re: the game early in Brett's career and now. I'm old enough where I cheered for the Packers when Vince was Coach, and Bart Starr was the man under center! When Phil Bengston took over, do you think the Packer Nation was comforted by that move, even though Vince recommended his own replacement?! Favre had to play for 4 different head coaches (e.g., Holmgren, Rhodes, Sherman, and McCarthy) and worked hard for each of them!!
Everyone was scared to play against Favre, just because he had the capability of changing things up and making things happen. If he is guilty of any one thing, Favre maybe ath times tried to do too much by himself. Then again, that's how he got things done. He had so many memorable games, but the game in Oakland after his father died, still gives me goose bumps of what he accomplished! I took my kids to Lambeau and the new Packer HoF after Rodgers won SuperBowl in 2010. Lambeau, and the way it looks, reflects, "the HOUSE that BRETT built!"
A guy named DON SHULA was interested in the Packer job in 69 and the board of directors said they were going to be loyal to Bengston...!!! DOE....!!!! also Joe Pa. was interested in and they went with Dan {Notso} Devine... Boy could they have had a Dynasty with either of them...Favre also played for Glanville, Childress, and Mangini. I counted ALL the coaches of his 20 year career. Not just GB....

Aaron Rodgers averages 32 TDs but only 8 INTs in his 8 years as a starter after Favre left.

There will never be another QB, let alone another player, of his caliber. He made fans, myself included, appreciate the game of football through his charisma and appreciation of it. Thank you Favre for all the great memories from 99-your retirement (I started watching football in 99 at age 9). May not have been the greatest statistic qb, but you made the game fun and you were def the most exciting player to ever watch. Congratulations #4, this is well deserved!!
I nearly cried watching this, he had such a love and passion for the sport, but still all he wanted to do was have fun and doing the ball.

We loved you Brett. I think the most important thing you said in your speech is that no one man is more important than the team. And by all means you have redeemed yourself and your father is looking down and is so proud of you so so proud of you. I grew up in the Favre generation. I will always be a Packers fan. I've lived in WI my whole life. Brett is so much more then a player to me. He's an inspiration and he's the reason I love the game.
