I lived in Okayama from 2002-2004, and it's also the hometown of my wife. Needless to say, it is one of my favorite cities on the planet. As Alina said, Okayama is known as the Land of Sunshine. The city has a cozy Goldilocks vibe to it --not too big, not too small. It's quiet yet lively. People are out and about walking or on bikes and there's a steady buzz of traffic. There are several food alleys of which you can duck into and get some of the tastiest noodles, yakiniku, gyoza, or whatever else you want in Western Japan. There are also gorgeous parks , gardens (Korakuen), and castles (Crow is the biggie). There are street musicians by the train station and teenage break dancers. There are several cool bars to visit as well like the Aussie Bar on the Nishigawa (canal), Monkey Bar, Joker, or Rude Boy. Aeon is the largest department store and it has everything.
Hi, I am a japanese woman born and raised in Okayama. Now I live in Okayama. Thank you for coming to my hometown. lately many foreign tourists come to japan, but there are less coming to okayama. I was surprised to find your videos by chance. if you want to experience normal japan, not a bustling city, come to okayama! I have been working on learning English, so I am so sorry, my English might be wrong.
As someone who loves exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations, this video about Okayama was exactly what I needed. Your explanations of the city's history, culture, and natural beauty were so informative and captivating. I appreciate the effort you put into sharing your travel experiences with us, Alina. Looking forward to more Japan travel content from you!
Some people messaged me about what hotel I stayed at and it was this one: Okayama Koraku Hotel booking.tp.st/6Hf7xFgq centrally located, budget friendly and had a good experience. *affiliate link but you don't pay any extra
Alina,Thanks you so much for your new remarkable video today’s in this remarkable Japanese city in Japan with great Cherry flowers, temples, stores, etc. in 2023❤❤❤
My guess about the Russian Heaven's ad is that it promotes a hostess club. Okayama is a famous destination among art lovers from all over the world, as it provides access to Naoshima - an island full of museums and installations of renowned contemporary artists.
Hello Alina, I also have been to Okayama, but have not seen a lot. I have been blown out by a taiphoon. At arrival in Okayama we received a message from the travel agency that we are advised to leave as fast as possible to hiroshima because of a taiphoon which affected the shinkansen lines. Very good video and audio quality as always. See the glow in Your eyes while tasting the gold leaf cappuccino 🙂 Best regards, Ralf
Good morning. My daughter was born in Okayama. I was very happy to see your video. Thank you very much. Have a nice weekend! Have a wonderful time in Japan❤
Hi nice video, stayed in Okayama earlier this year and agree it is a great place to visit, plenty of modern accommodation, mine had a great view of the station with the Shinkansen’s coming and going, and lots to see and do including being so close to Shikoku. There are so many places like this off the tourist route thought out Japan, during my last trip I had 3 weeks without any plans roaming around these types of cities and had a great time.
Shimane, Kochi and Yamagata Prefectures, which are not often visited by foreigners, are also very nice places. If you have a chance, please visit them!
Japan is truly a beautiful country, so bright, clean and safe and this city is really worth a visit!:Thank you Alina for taking us in this fantastic land.
Was 1x in Okayama. Stayed 1 night cause train stopped there on our way to Kochi. Was typhoon night that time. Was not so amazed by the city. But was amazed by Kurashiki and doing a lovely cycling from Bitchu Takamatsu to Soja. Stayed at Bitchu Kokubunji temple.
This city seems so calm yet beautiful.....looks like it's the place if someone wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of bigger cities. I too love places that are less noisy but modern at the same time. 3:14 you were laughing but I believe you are like that only...you actually do those 10 things to work better. Thank you Alina for being our virtual traveling companion. 😊 and you're looking stunning...those matching ring and earrings should thank you...!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 BTW, those are pearls, right???
Loved this place was there about 3 weeks ago .Sadly only spent 1 day here , Will come back there is a lot to see , Went out to the Denim area not far you must also visit the Historical area not far by Train . I will be back it’s good to get away from the High Traffic areas of Tokyo Osaka , Kyoto 🤔 Pleasantly surprising 👍🏼
Awesome video, Alina! Okayama is now on my travel bucket list in Japan. If you get an opportunity, I recommend to take the Shinkansen to Aomori, and then a local train to Hirosaki to visit the castle there. The cherry blossoms bloom a little later (i.e. around early May) in this region, and Hirosaki is one of the most beautiful places in Japan for viewing them.
Isn't Okayama a great city? So underrated. What Harriet and I like about the city is its quirky vibe. ( In a good way) . And in Okayama, it's a city filled with of proverbs. You got to love that signage about work. I'll hang a copy of that in my home office. The food was so good. As always, a great video. Thank you for bringing us another side of Japan. By the way , Harriet and I got our postcard from Nara today. Thank you so much ! Love you Dearly ❤❤❤ Harriet, Jim and yuki. Richmond, Va.
Hi Alina! 😁🙏👋🌟 I hope your having a wonderful day! This is a marvelous super fantastic video! 😄👍❤️👏📹🇯🇵🏯🍱🥢🥇💯💫✨🌟 The city of Okayama looks absolutely magnificent! Also Okayama Castle and Okayama Korakuen is so amazing! Even the food at the restaurant looks really delicious! I would definitely like to visit the city of Okayama one day. It really is a excellent city! Thank you so much Alina to share with us this fantastic magnificent video. You are the best and greatest world traveler adventurer ever! 😃👍👏✈️🌎📹🗺🥇💯🏆💫🌟 I wish you Alina a wonderful beautiful glorious blessed day. Enjoy your visit in Japan! 😊🙏❤️👋🇯🇵👍✨🌟
Since you are at Okayama and into gardens. You should take a look at Takamatsu's Ritsurin Garden. Takamatsu is just south of Okayama across the Seto Inland Sea.
Compared to Okayama Prefecture, Yamagata Prefecture is not so popular among foreign tourists. So, I think you would be able to find hidden spots in Yamagata Prefecture.Yamagata City is small but very easy to walk in the town.
I have transited Okayama on my way to Shikoku. Definitely, find the food is different in Western Japan. I also find the people more relaxed and outgoing, as you noticed.
It looks like you had an enjoyable time in this Japanese city Alina, must admit never heard of it before today, looks like a fun and intriguing town to visit! 🤍🤍🤍🏯🔝✔
Did you know Buddhism has been prevalent in Japan which travelled all the way from India. You are really enjoying your trip to Japan and through you we are also having gala time.
Been watching your some videos and I love it. I’ve been working there in Okayama from year 2019 until 2022 and I traveled some beauty spots there. I missed the place since I finished my 3 yrs contract in Okayama Japan. Hoping I could go back and travel there again soon for my 30th birthday this coming 28th in April 😊Best regards from Philippines 🇵🇭 Keep safe always ❤️
If you want to introduce Okayama, the nearby Bichu Matsuyama, Tsuyama, Washuzan Observatory, Kurashiki and Inbe, the city of Bizen ware, should also be introduced.
Craft Boss is 0.4% fruit juice not 0.4% alcohol beverage😅 And the coffee you drank is Vienna Coffee not Winner Coffee😂 Haha. Anyway this is very nice video!!! I love this😊
Other than going past Okayama on the Shinkansen, that was my knowledge of this place. Many of my stops are to visit famous Sengoku Jidai battle spots and non recreation castles. What can I say I'm a Jo snob. That all being said, Okayama Jo looked like a pretty interesting recreation and museum. Although still poor, my Nihongo is better than when I last visited Nippon, so when I go back hopefully I can get a bit more understanding out of my next visit. You made me laugh when you said you weren't familiar with Big Boss brand products. I see adds for their coffee everywhere in Japan. I don't drink coffee, so I wouldn't be tempted by that $15.00 coffee gold or no gold, but I hope it brought you luck. As a Albertan that's, one of my favorite things is getting beef in Japan. Japan's beef is as good and often better Alberta AAA beef. Better yet they cook it the way I want it and not how someone else said it should be prepared and eaten. Random English signs are one of the joys of Asia. I appreciate the sentiment but like why there? Damn it you've now added another stop on my never ending list of places I've got see and experience. Great video as always.
Okayama is in top 3 Korakuen in Japan, they are famous for denim , for peach for dango too. I lived Okayama for 10 years. for craft boss 0.4% is not alcool, impossible in Japan to find alcool in public, the kanji is just mean juice
Hi Alina! I live in the Bay Area and I can read the Chinese kanji on that bottle, and I also love to travel. I’m actually going to visit the 3 Baltic countries this weekend plus Poland and 4 Northern European countries except Iceland. I’ve been wanting to visit Ukraine (particularly Kyiv) where you’re originally from, yet the Russian invasion has prevented me from doing so. But l’ll be there! Thanks for all the wonderful videos you posted, I truly enjoyed watching them! Good luck to you!!!
A long long time ago, Momotaro, one of the fairy tale heroes most Japanese kids know, exterminated the demon with fellow animals. Onigashima ( Igore's Island with cave)still exists in the Inland Sea. LOL There are many fairy tales, folklore as well as local foods all over Japan.😰😱👹😈❤💙💛

The Food and Drinks! The Fact that there Isn't Foot traffic, or traffic in general to deal with! The garden and castle worth visiting! Nice call!
My guess about the Russian Heaven's ad is that it promotes a hostess club. Okayama is a famous destination among art lovers from all over the world, as it provides access to Naoshima - an island full of museums and installations of renowned contemporary artists.
Yes I planned to go to Naoshima one day but sadly it rained all day.
I went there four months (March) ago and had a great time

Absolutely
That was fantastic a usual Alina,I love your presentations,
You make us salivate!# Their cuisine is now fusion too!# Cool!#
Thanks Alina for the trip down memory lane! I lived in Okayama-ken for 3 years, 02-05, teaching English. Great time in my life😀
It is a great city i must say. My son study & working here in okayama almost 3 yrs

Will Describe , thank you.

I was going to ask about any kick in that can.
Speaking of Okayama Prefecture, it would be Kurashiki. Please introduce Kurashiki.
吉備津神社に吉備津彦神社に最上稲荷に石上布都魂神社に内田百閒のお墓がある安住院の多宝塔やもう最高です
