I really have been enjoying your reviews and ethos. This library is amazing. I bought Wotan and Freyja because of your review. Now I'm getting this. Although I have too many string libraries, this truly stands out! Keep it up bro!
I own this library and agree that it‘s incredibly good - an ABSOLUTE no-brainer when it’s on sale. I mocked up a full length symphony recently and there are many, many passages where I‘m just blown away by the realism and emotion. Just buy it.
@@sourcefor They're quite different. I think Afflatus is more versatile with its divisi function, optional reverb, sound design patches, pre-orchestrated "inspiration" patches and special effects like harmonics legato or trills up to a fifth(!). It's also more expensive than Pacific, which is a more standard, bread and butter library. What Pacific has over Afflatus is full pitch range on all patches and a few more dynamic layers. As I said if you can get Afflatus on sale, like you can right now for 400, it's a no-brainer. I had bought a con moto library in the past so Pacific was 250 for me, which is also a no-brainer. If you can only afford one, get Afflatus first I think! It's a Swiss army knife strings library.
I have afflatus I bought it on the last sale, I’m just wondering if I need Pacific as I already have Modern Scoring Strings, And BBC orchestra among others! Thanks for the reply!
@@kwameryan An X-Factor is that if you get Pacific Strings during the intro period which lasts until March, you'll get Pacific Solo Strings (Violin and Cello) for free when it is released, and the loyalty pricing for Pacific Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion when they are released (which will all be less than $100 I believe). :)
Thanks for the demos and your thoughts. On patches like the Lush Strings KS Legato, you may find a "wider" mod wheel dynamic range by enabling the "niente" option in the settings (under the little gear icon in the upper right corner). I think they are more expressive with the niente enabled.
This might just be the best string sample library on the planet right now to my taste.
I own this one and it's superb. Some of the patches are the most beautiful I've heard. As you say it's also very diverse.
Expensive but well worth it.
@@charlesyateschalfant Agreed! Thanks for watching 💪🏻

Awesome, thanks for the tip! And thank you for watching.
Also you can turn off Overlap to force it to be monophonic legatos. But yeah they aren't the strongest legatos to my ears.
Simply amazing
