Great review. I played every single edition of The Settlers, playing the first one when it was initially released. As a fan of the original game-play style, I was beyond irritated with this version when I was invited to join the BETA. Ubisoft have utterly destroyed most of their game franchises, due to their insistence of a second layer that is locked behind a pay-wall. It leaves their games dry and uninspiring, with little to no replayability. This iteration of The Settlers will likely kill the franchise completely. For those wanting something closer to the original Settlers games, try Foundation. It's far more entertaining.
your weren't "greeted" with the store, guy. I watched you ignore the tabs that sead start campaign, skirmish, and tutorial and immediately click on the shop.
Damnit, as someone who played and really enjoyed the original Settlers games (especially 3 and 4), I can 100% state that this new game has been seriously dumbed down. Pretty much all of the strategy element has been replaced by a single click. Shocking. Unfortunately, with everything spoon-fed to todays youngsters...and instantly....all critical thought in the vast majority of this group is devoid. Dumbed down games for dumbed down kids, unfortunately. It is what it now is.

Or Pioneers Of Pagonia. It’s the closest to the original Settlers style gameplay.
