I havent been watching the england games too much bc im busy and bc theyre boring, but as a real madrid fan, i can say he does this there too. But something that sticks in my mind was early on in the Champions league when he was partnered with Joselu and Joselu missed two absolute sitters and Jude was getting frustrated and he made it very obvious. But when Joselu did score, Jude cheered for him and pushed him over to the fans so they could celebrate him even louder. That sort of thing defined Jude Bellingham for me more than basically everything else hes done. He cares so much, works so hard, and hes also so smart, but also really young. Its tough when you can see things happening in the game that other people cant, its frustrating bc in that high intensity moment, you just dont get why they cant see the same thing you can. And its so much worse when youre young. Do i love that he does this? No. But do i understand it and love the passion he has? Yes.
I think he did more than cheer Joselu on -- he continued to trust and provide service for Joselu which arguably outshines his visible frustrations seen by negative body language
The problem Bellingham is not a playmaker nor is Rice. And Foden is sort of in a team that moves the ball about in small spaces with give-and-go. I see Bellingham more like a Frank Lampard sort of player
None of our midfielders are playmakers.. Gallagher, Rice, Bellingham are all physical players who rely on their physicality to run games. Even Foden isn't really a playmaker as he wants to be on the offense rather than control games like Rodri, Kroos or Partey. Trent is a world class passer but end of the day he is also a right back, and his mentality is not about control but launching dangerous passes in behind.
@@gr3saeyend there is a difference. That's why England fails all the time because fans don't think properly and demand stupid things..... Lampard, Gerrard, Cole, Rooney, Beckham all wants to be offense. England barely can string 2 passes together. Foden and Trent gave away the ball so much in the grp stages with hail Mary passes. They are shit at playmaking. Look at real playmakers like Rodri, Ruiz, Kroos... they don't donate the ball.....Put them in the right position and get someone secure with the ball otherwise England can only be a counter attacking outfit, not an attacking one.
Agree with you James. Are we a Pressing Team? Or are we siting back? At 6:33 Kane is in a position where he is loosely covering a pass back to their CBs. But if we are Pressing then he should be Marking the Midfielder near him so they can't play forward. Kane and Bellingham are playing different systems. That is Southgate's fault.
@@heinkle1it's been the same under every England manager. At this point, it must be the FA and the sponsors picking the team. Because we are ALWAYS imbalanced
Southgate always gets our left winger to drop into the middle moe, leaving the right wingback free from goal kicks .This means we're always pressing the ball 10 yards to late
Feels weird to me people blaming Kane for not pressing. Kane basically has to press keeper and shadow cover a defender. He does that. The press is on the mid 3's fault. Rice, Gallagher, Bellingham need to press MUCH higher.
As a scot, do you honestly think that these players are underperforming because of a lack of talent or desire? It seems obvious to me that England's problems have been systemic. Very disjointed pairings. If you play trent, you need players who run in behind. If you play Foden, you need quick technically gifted players around him. If you play Kane, you should have other forwards running beyond. So far, England have played a bunch of half baked ideas without committing to either one. Wharton or Maino should come in to reduce the stress on Rice. Defensively England have looked very good so that's positive. You can give Bellingham or Foden a free role but not both - or you take the German approach and have fluidity of personnel in positions but the positions remain relatively fixed. The whole thing is risk averse instead of being bold and dominant - the squad is literally stacked, even with the lack of a LB.
Yep. And it's confusing to me why the fans don't understand this. They go straight to dragging down the star payer. I realised this first during all that "Ronaldo doesn't press" nonsense.
@@Coach-rq6jx It's a trade off though. Ronaldo doesn't press so you should have a scheme to compensate for that. The modern trend is for a full team press but England are sort of doing it minus Kane.
Tbf I think we’ve been attempting the German approach of fixed positions but fluid personnel with the Bellingham/Foden rotation. Trouble is the communication/chemistry between them isn’t fully there yet, neither of them are familiar enough with the positional discipline required of them, and Bellingham in particular is miles off his game and clearly impacted by fatigue.
@@user-ed7et3pb4o That requires a tempo setter. Not a player like trent who prefers the hollywood ball. It's just disjointed thinking that makes it seem there is no over arching plan, just half baked ideas
@@Jamie-jy7sw yes, and that’s why we really need to play Wharton. Also play Trent to provide that creativity down the right, switch the wingers, and have Jude and Rice playing as two 8s.
the fact that he does an action, it’s not followed through with by the rest of his team, shows his frustration, then immediately gets right back to action and pushing and doing,,, to me proves exactly that he doesn’t have a bad attitude. he has passion. and more importantly, a winning attitude. and that is something an incredibly few english players have right now. (and fans and pundits, which is why they don’t understand bellingham’s actions and shows of passion and frustration and calling his teammates to action, and they will criticize him for it). he’s a leader. and a winning one.
We can't really complain about the England team not having passion and then get annoyed at Bellingham being frustrated about these poor performances - I just hope things reach his level eventually
People love talking about his maturity but as a Chelsea fan I knew it was all media nonsense. I saw him melt down after getting knocked out of the UCL, it was embarrassing. BUT he is not even 20 yet, let’s treat him as he is. A 20 year old who is really good but not some superhero like the media is trying to portray him as. He can be annoyed, he can whine and moan or throw his hands up at times. That’s all perfectly fine. Let’s just be honest
I guess we can summarise his behaviour as mature at the best of times but quickly turns into a sore loser when things don't go his way, which is fine. He's not a manager who needs to be composed all day all week.
You waffle shit. Drogba had a meltdown because he wanted to win & cared to win, he was outraged that his team got robbed. Any proper winner will have a meltdown, the saying "show me someone who takes losing well & that person is a serial loser". Chelsea are mid table & you Chelsea fans have already forgotten what it is to have winners. Terry, Lampard... they all egos & were emotional but they wanted to win. Maybe you should watch football, even Messi gets emotionally unstable.
I think bellingham is a lampard type of midfielder crashing the box and scoring goals such stuffs, he can't control the tempo of the game. It was kroos who was doing everything in madrid so it will be bellingham more test next season. And people compare him to zidane
I agree. The trouble with us England fans we think our good player should be able to do it all . But England really doesn't know how to a build a system to fit the players. It's the Lampard, Scoles Garrard thing thing all over again and no left footed players. History repeating itself
Imo he'll never shine as a 10 for England or at any club he'll play for. He just doesn't have the attributes to do that &, I don't think he'll be able to develop them as most of them are unreasonable qualities imo
It's quite clear after watching the first few games as to why Southgate won't drop Bellingham back to a no 8. He just simply doesn't have the legs. He's absolutely exhausted. Keeping him at 10 will restrict the amount of running and tracking back he needs to do, ergo keeping on the pitch longer. But this system, it's lack of runners off the ball, with Foden and Kane cluttering up his position on the pitch is making him totally ineffective. He needs rested in the next match, no training, give him a couple days off to recuperate. Then if we manage to make the quarters, give him 60 mins at no 8 and go from there. We have enough in midfield to cover him. Mainoo and Wharton both deserve a shot and Foden needs to play through the middle if we are to have any chance in this tournament.
I don’t think you should stop at the frustrating shown by Bellingham. There’s footage of Rice, Foden, Kane and Gallagher whose body language all show a frustrated demeanour. Either players are not doing what they’ve been told in their training drills or the tactics and formations are not working or it could be both.
personally, and as much as I love Kobbie, Jude needs to be playing alongside Rice so he can get on the ball and effect the game more. Stick Foden in the 10, Gordon on the left, Palmer on the Right
Bellingham has to be benched. he is useless. Foden in at number 10 and gordon and palmer in the wings. Rice with Mainoo in the midfield box to box players. Keep the back 4 and kane. This is the team that will have balance and dominate.
Either do that or what others say and bench Bellingham (fatigue etc), or go 3 at the back with Rice, Bellingham, Mainoo in midfield and Gordon, Foden, Palmer ahead with Watkins or Kane up front. Esp. if Shaw is not match fit to play then 3 at the back with 2 supporting mids and one higher (Bellingham) who can eat up the ground in the middle. If Shaw is fit then 4 at the back and what the other said abut benching Bellingham.
@@krkisawui100 When both at their best, Jude is far superior to Foden. Better in the air (Foden would not have scored the round 1 goal). Covers more ground and quicker. Better at tackling. Is more clutch so far (2 winners in el Classico). He has had 2 stinkers so I'd consider resting him. But Foden has been getting in his way and has been harming the team balance by refusing to give us width and leaving the left open for the opposition to attack, so I'd also consider benching Foden too. I might bench both and play Wharton, Rice, Mainoo in the middle, and Gordon on the left.
@JohnJohn-cu7nk then take Rice out. If he can't he wants to drift and that effects the whole team then he clearly isn't smart enough as a top level footballer. I dont get why people think Rice is undroppable, we want to play possession based football but we can't if he's playing.
@@killthomas8373nah it would just cause division in the camp because they do like Southgate. He’s probably going to be gone after the tournament so we just have to hope the FA chooses a good replacement for the World Cup
Rory Jennings posted something like sack Southgate tonight after the Denmark game and I laughed at him, as much as I want him gone I thought to get rid of him mid tournament would be an insane idea. I thought we could still win in spite of Southgate and sacking him would only cause chaos. Now I actually think it’s impossible for us to win with Southgate and that sacking him mid tournament is the only possible chance we have of winning
biggest issue is, is he just running and pressing to press or is he the trigger man for the whole team to start pressing? no cohesion in the press if the rest of the team are in the mindset to sit back at the half
he has a winners mentality. and is trying to push his teammates to succeed. you see that by the fact that he does an action, shows frustration and calls out that person specifically, and then gets right back to it. he doesn’t whine. he calls them to action, to be better. like a true winning leader.
The fact if denmark scored against serbia we would be playing Germany just shows how lucky Southgate is. We should've been punished for playing like we do.
Great video, highlighting that Bellingham is trying to impact the game, arguably too much, which is making him frustrated, overly tired and making team play out of sync. Coaching staff MUST sit down with him and assure him to trust his teammates and to work as a collective and make movements intelligently and in such with teammates
Most players downgrade on their manager at international level. The best coaches are in club football. You could say the same about any of the Spain players who play for Madrid.
Bellingham is an 8, the same as Rice, one of them needs to sit and come off the bench to give us energy in the 2nd half. Our 10's should be Palmer and Foden, our 6's should be Mainoo and Wharton. Gordon on the left with Eze as his backup, Saka on the Right with Borwen as his backup this is a balanced midfield
People forget how young he still is and he’s just come off his first tough and long season at Real which must be a factor why he’s not playing as he has for his club. I think he’s just jaded.
I agree we definitely need him but he just isn't a 10. He only played a box-crashing 10 this season instead of a box-to-box because Real Madrid didn't have a world-class striker but now they do (Mbappe) they'll use him in that b2b role. We should have Bellingham as an 8, Foden as a 10, and Gordon on the left. this sort out Foden's issue of not playing on the left side in over a season and we have someone to make runs on the left wing so Kane can drop a tad deeper.
I think they probably talked about the press and want to do and Bellingham tried to trigger it and got no response from Kane and the midfield . And the runs he made that no one was brave enough to hit that ball over the top. Rice is a good player but he has no vision . The only player prepared to hit that ball over the top is Trent or Kane. And with Foden, it is the lack of movement and rotation in midfield
And quite a lot of passing the ball back from Foden and Trippier. They should always look FORWARD, just like Vini at Real Madrid. Bellingham making runs and Foden moving forward would immediately put any defense in danger. Also, both of England's goals came from Saka and Walker deciding to move FORWARD instead of cutting it back. They should really work on that.
@@Coach-rq6jxfodens a left footer. When he takes it with his back to goal. The only suitable way to attack is to move it wider closer to the touchline, which acts as an extra defender for the opposition. Only way is to pass it back and move since thats the only way he gets to move forward. If he was a right footer he takes it turn and he cuts inside since its his stronger foot but he isnt soo its gonna happen a lot.
It's crazy to me that people are talking about dropping Bellingham. As a Madrid fan, I hope they do and England lose against Slovakia so he can finally get his shoulder fixed.
He genuinely dropped 0/10’s against Denmark and Slovenia. Horrible passing, and the touch of a trampoline when Saka/Palmer tried to connect with him. Needs to get dropped if he does the same against Slovakia. He isn’t a #10, please wake up. He’ll be dropped deeper next season now Madrid have a proper attack.
Southgate is guilty of the formation, but regardless, his play/touch not good enough atm. ENG been guilty of playing the names before, so let's us please bench one of the best players in the world, but to make a better team.
I think it’s because he’s absolutely fucked and Southgate won’t rest him, he’s literally played every minute of our euro’s games and it’s exhaustion. He’s amazingly capable of passing (remember the insane first time volley to walker in he first game) and he’s certainly got the ability to take people on or draw people. He’s obviously fuckin exhausted.
Was it? I especially him doing a nice pass back, and the commentator praising him… that its was totally unnecessary and without substance beside, him being all over the field has caused Kane & Foden look like idiots. The was zero plan or communication between these guys, when Player A moves into Player B space, Player B needs to know where to move, and Player A too. If this runs are automated you can play a blind pass into empty space, because you know Player B will be there eventually… communication & tactics … that is the problem.
Probably frustration that the rest of the players not performing up to their mark, severe drop of quality around him and a lack of promising system. It's okay, I think he'll bounce back in the knockouts.
Gordon on the left, Palmer on the right (with Saka as a quality straight replacement) and Mainoo at 8. Then make the tough decision between Foden and Bellingham at 10. If you go with Jude, tell him to stay forward and stop dropping deep. If he is still performing poorly (or simply getting tired), bring on Foden as a super sub.
@@pforson It's simple really, a player on each side holding the width, 3 at the back with a box midfield with Bellingham as the left 10 and foden as the right (seriously, get foden off the left, why are we sacrificing him for others like trent) and kane up top, its simple really. You can even have 4 at the back and have stones come into midfield as the 2nd 6. In possession its the 3-box-3 and out its a 5-4-1 or 4-5-1. We arent drilled well enough for this pressing playstyle, just sit back and allow the opponent to create space behind them then hit them on the counter or recycle it and build up with slow play. Can even do a 5-3-2 or 4 triple 2 with watkins or someone partnering kane up top, which would be great to see. Could then drop into a 4-4-2 when defending. Most of the players have experience with these systems, I've been saying this is how we should be playing for years now, is this not so obvious? And yes, you can slip Palmer into that squad very easily for rotation.
@@EvieWillNotDie That is a far better response than simply a flippant and frankly rude "No, very bad" statement. What you are proposing is not unreasonable. It is not exactly what I would do, but that is not to say it wouldn't work. However, such a significant change should take place after the tournament, not at this stage. Regardless of how experienced the players may be playing in similar systems for their clubs, it is a big ask for them to adapt as a group mid-tournament, and honestly, it is not even worth discussing as Southgate will never do that. The best we can hope for is that he maximises the current system by playing players in their natural positions, which is what I suggested.
Dear James, We do not need to talk about Jude Bellingham. There is only one thing which is a need to be done and everybody knows it. 2:40 CR7 shows with 39 more frustation then Bellingham. And currently every football enjoyer in the world is frustated about Southgate and the English national team. At this point I am wondering how it is possible that the fans still doing their support and not started a riot or scratched out their eyes.
Some English fans are really dense. They find it easier to blame the star player and call it a day rather than search for what's really the problem. TH-camrs like this guy, Fiago and Mark Goldbridge supplying them with their biased opinions that stick to the back of their minds. It's frustrating, and I'd given up a long time ago.
4:30 this is completely wrong. He’s not supposed to press like that own his own he just tries to force everything, he does the same thing at real Madrid
Bellingham has had a shoulder injury most of the season. Looks to me like its taking its toll on him. You could see for the last 3 months he’s struggling physically.
I can’t understand Bellingham’s role in this match. Ultimately, sacrificing himself for foden in possession. Leaving him on the periphery of the game. I understand not wanting to crowd the middle of the pitch and keep width, but it doesn’t make sense to sacrifice one of the best players in the world, at the moment. When you could use Gordon on the left, foden in the middle and Bellingham slightly deeper. Seems like Gareth is the only one on the planet who disagrees
People simply do not understand that great attacking football, especially in static attacks. is primarily possible by team players willing to sacrifice themselves by making the runs where they know they most likely wont get the ball just to make space and options for another player…
James, your defense of Bellingham is he runs and he gets frustrated. I get he works for the team he’s doing a great impression of Conor Gallagher. However, he is also is giving the ball away repeatedly and isn’t helping the team with possession or incisive passes to lead to attempts on goal which is the role he is supposed to be playing. Bellingham is one of the problems in this team either have him play deeper as the box to box role or come off the bench.
Bellingham has to be benched. he is useless. Foden in at number 10 and gordon and palmer in the wings. Rice with Mainoo in the midfield box to box players. Keep the back 4 and kane. This is the team that will have balance and dominate.
It comes over that you are blaming Rice a lot. Hard for Rice when he has to cover the entire midfield on his own with everyone else being a 10 and occupying the same space. And the lack of a left back is really hurting the side.
Sometimes people say things flippantly like “ James would make a much better manager than Southgate” ….but……in this tournament I honestly believe this is true. James for manager…..sack Southgate.
For most of his career Belligham has only played for good teams with good managers. I suspect he (along with the other younger players) has upset the Southgate camp by openly recognising how limited their managers is.
Good vid but Jude is also knackered ; he should of been rested, already. Also, the way these players are being told how to structure attacking play , is just not right ; we lack variety and surprises in our offensive moves - management
He does the same thing in Madrid. Once he begins his high intensity pressing and nobody joins in he becomes visibly frustrated. Ronaldo does the same thing. It's undersrandable. Pressing is a team activity or one person will end up being exhausted.
He's frustrated because he's right. If only we had someone to hit those runs. Maybe someone renowned for hitting driven crossfield balls from right back...
to be fair, he was piss poor for Madrid in every KO games. Against City he was nothing. Literally invisible just like he in in the last 2 England games. Diving around, trying to get fouls, complains a lot. That's basically what City fans saw during that UCL QF match. soo it doesn't surprise me even a little bit that he act like that or even perform like that. to be fair to him, he is being asked to play a position that isnt suited to his skillset, he isnt a pocket player in the likes of ozil or david silva but also isnt a final ball monster like KDB. His skillset is more tailored for a box crashing CM and can drive on counters. Real had to play him CAM because they dont have a real striker. England doesnt need to do that, they have a 10 in Foden, a striker in Kane, why cant he play in the 8 effectively like he did with Dortmund, along side Rice?
@@ph8077 Sent from gods or made in a lab by doping with HGH and still having zero Non-penalty goals at 2010 WC and 2015,16,19 Copa Americas. Yeah, whatever.
I agree with you totally, he drives so hard and the others dnt play him the ball but make simple non commital passes square like they are afraid of what he could do. They are afraid of his ability to outshine them. The one player to weave the game with him is Gordon. But what does Southgate’s do. He plots them to oposite sides of the park. Bellingham is a generational talent, and he should be leading the team. Problem is he is not yet an old fart.
On another subject I have grown this tournament from not giving Pickford a second glance, seeing how animated he is regards arm gestures to get his deaf dumb and blind players out the 1st third and over the half way line has won me over. And also the passion he showed in that last attack on goal when he smothered the ball. Thats the passion required to win a tournament but it needs to have a team with it, and the tactics to see it over the line. Southgate is still the weakest link in my book but confusing is, the players mention GS fondly and protectively in post match interviews.. why? Will we find out?
I think he absolutely has every right to be frustrated! He’s giving his guts on the pitch and his teammates aren’t backing him up and his manager is incompetent to the max
Not got a problem with his attitude. I have a problem with his position on and off ball. Drawn everywhere, not displaying good enough touch atm (cant blame that on Southgate) and needs to find space between lines which hes not doing (partly bcus of congestion, partly his own play)
It's glaringly obvious that Southgate wants England to play like Pep's City. But he hasn't got Rodri. And City lose every time Rodri isn't there. We've not got the players to do it so he should try and find another way to play.
this better be clickbait there is no way you look at this england team and think that jude is the problem chill out hop on the bandwagon and hatr on southgate

Are England a pressing team or not? In majority of the clips you show there the back 4 is so deep, so pressing is a bit of a waste so is Jude just pressing off his own back?
I like this there shouldn’t be a character assassination but I think it’s so obvious now we need him in midfield. I might be mad saying this, but, if that doesn’t happen one of Kane, Foden or Bellingham has to be dropped to the bench. That trio just isn’t clicking!
I personally, dunno what everyone else thinks, have thought he has been so so overrated by our media for quite a while now. It’s literally only because he is English and has gone to do it at Madrid. If he was any other nationality, big or small, we wouldn’t hold him in anywhere NEAR the same light. Good player though do not get me wrong
The context of Bellingham really depends on what instructions Southgate has given doesnt it? Like if Southgate has asked for his team to contain and be passive while the ball is with the opposition defence then what Bellingham is doing is performative which is tactical ill-discipline. Ultimately either way its a failure of the England set up to maximise the talents of the players on the pitch.
Bellingham looks knackered I don’t think he’s fit. However its not just him underperforming is it, when the entire team plays horribly then I’m sorry but there’s only one man to blame for that
@@steveallen3434 I'm just talking about from the front. We looked so much more lethal with Palmer and Gordon. I think put Watkins on with those and it'll be so much better.
I remember after Chelsea knocked Dortmund out of the Champions League that Bellingham went up to Cucurella post match and shoved him for no reason. It wasn't like Cucurella went up to him and asked him anything - no, Jude bellingham went out of his way to jog up to Cucurella just to shove him and afterwards retreat behind some players. Jude Bellingham as talented that he is, there are a lot of signs of him having short temper especially when losing.
But is it all one excuse to blame Southgate? We're talking 100 million quid players! Can't they adjust and improvise even when played out of position? It's not like the whole team is out of position. I'm not a tactics guy, but surely these quality players can still muster up enough to play better and beat these teams?! Is it ALL down to Southgate just because Foden and Bellingham are slightly out of position? The England B team should still be performing well enough to comfortably beat these guys
You shouldn’t remove him from the 10 spot he makes runs on the box now, scoring goals, as I’ve always said, you don’t nullify your best ever player in decades for someone like Phil Foden.
I'm surprised Gareth likes Jude if I'm being honest, incredibly lazy defensively in our own half. Kane is filling in for him in midfield as he's walking back from wasting all his energy on a one man press. Foden would track back way better in the 10 from what I've seen at City (which is what I assume Gareth prefers). Judes an incredibly talented player but he's not perfect and his shortfalls are limiting our ability to control games (along with Rice's limited ability to control games and make key passes from the 6). Hope we are more measured and controlled in the next game and hopefully see Mainoo alongside Rice and Bellingham.
And? I'm not sure about your defense of Bellingham. It all seems like much ado about nothing. You've just gone into great detail describing actions that I see professional footballers make again and again in every match, making off the ball runs. This isn't Jude Wonderball .. its the stock and trade of any number of professional footballers. And they get frustrated too. England look like strangers on a pitch, like every English team I can remember watching, bar a few moments of brilliance. Is that coaching or just international football? Probably a bit of both. Give these players a pre-season, a Prem league season playing together with a decent coach, and they'd be a well-oiled machine.
I picked Bellingham in euro fantasy team gw1 for a simple reason - lazy Southgate was going to lean on his big star and hope for jude to carry the team. Anyway that's how things have panned out. Now he has Neymar syndrome, trying too hard to carry the team.
Bellingham isn’t a cam. When foden drifted in there at the start of the game we controlled the game really well. Jude should stick to being a box to box cm crasher and Gordon should go on the left and foden should be left to find him and the rest of the
That's not even the main problem, it's the inability of that "rabbit in the headlights" Southgate to see when something ISN'T working or if someone ISN'T playing well, then NOT making apposite substitutions - I mean there are players on the bench who can really make a difference...& the big-nosed no-chin clown gives Gordon 5 mins (inc injury time), for Christ's sake!

@@gersonjr2560 That was no “chance”, a simple 1 yard pass to Kane in ENGLAND’s OWN HALF, no the oppositions. It’s either Jude or Foden in the lineup it’s very simple.
Jude isn’t a 10 but he thinks he is Zidane, trying skills that don’t come off. He needs to stop forcing things and play his game. Let us not forget he had a good first half of the season and that was it. Aside the group stage, he was poor for Madrid in the ucl. Southgate needs to build the team around foden and let jude play behind foden.
Bad video. Not showing all the runs bellinghams making into everyone elses space in the pitch which is clogging it up for the rest of the team or admitting that he’s being a premadonna and throwing a strop. So obvious he’s scared to criticise him….
It’s agonising to watch Southgate draining the souls of our talented players and destroying their confidence with his turgid , passive tactics. I can barely stand it.
Foden and Kane are like statue who never make any runs other than schoolboy simple runs. Just bench Kane in last 16 amd move Jude as false 9 while play Foden as 10 and everything will be okay. But one things Foden need to always do and that is RUNS whether helping the left or the right wing. What i'm do not like about Foden is he is the type of player waiting for the ball to come not move to get the ball. This Foden movement is easier to defend against and if he met with a very good defensive midfielder Foden will be disappear.
my theory is that maybe the Real Madrid FREEDOM is hurting him here because maybe that has taken out the tactical discipline out of his game, its almost like he's trying too many things here
If we're going after individuals now I think it's Kane who is the main issue. He's dropping deep as if to play a ball through to someone but the man he's looking for is himself. Make it make sense. We don't have Son on the left wing running in behind who Kane can find. There's just NOTHING up top when Kane acts like a midfielder. He's so overrated its unreal.
But if they let Bellingham be that runner if Kane drops Bellingham should push up and because only Trent and Kane are willing to make that pass and Bellingham seems to be the only one willing to make that run
@@steveallen3434 But Kane is not a midfielder and Bellingham is not a striker. Kane dropping deep is forcing them to essentially swap roles and its leaving us open in midfield and with nobody up top because a striker needs to be a striker not a runner from midfield. It's not the same.

Yes.
Well said
Spot on
I think he did more than cheer Joselu on -- he continued to trust and provide service for Joselu which arguably outshines his visible frustrations seen by negative body language
The biggest issue is that Jude is not a 10, Ancelotti played him there because he didn't have an elite striker.
The problem Bellingham is not a playmaker nor is Rice. And Foden is sort of in a team that moves the ball about in small spaces with give-and-go. I see Bellingham more like a Frank Lampard sort of player
I agree he's not a 10. He doesn't find space well enough between lines. Not atm
@@findingaether”foden isnt a playmaker as he wants to be on the offensive” yeah and kdb isnt a playmaker either 😭wtf
Agree - absolutely no sense of tactical complexity under Southgate
@@heinkle1it's been the same under every England manager. At this point, it must be the FA and the sponsors picking the team. Because we are ALWAYS imbalanced
Southgate always gets our left winger to drop into the middle moe, leaving the right wingback free from goal kicks .This means we're always pressing the ball 10 yards to late
Feels weird to me people blaming Kane for not pressing. Kane basically has to press keeper and shadow cover a defender. He does that. The press is on the mid 3's fault. Rice, Gallagher, Bellingham need to press MUCH higher.
@@bannnnner Agreed, the midfield is too deep so Kane has to stick on the other teams 6 instead of pushing forward

"As a chelsea fan" what relevance is your plasticity to the point? Whereabouts in west London are you from
I think bellingham is a lampard type of midfielder crashing the box and scoring goals such stuffs, he can't control the tempo of the game. It was kroos who was doing everything in madrid so it will be bellingham more test next season. And people compare him to zidane
Let me ask , do you watch La liga?
I agree. The trouble with us England fans we think our good player should be able to do it all . But England really doesn't know how to a build a system to fit the players. It's the Lampard, Scoles Garrard thing thing all over again and no left footed players. History repeating itself

If Bellingham wants to shrine as a no 10 in England,he needs the support of Gordon as a winger and Wharton as central midfielder and palmer starting.
Imo he'll never shine as a 10 for England or at any club he'll play for. He just doesn't have the attributes to do that &, I don't think he'll be able to develop them as most of them are unreasonable qualities imo
We also need Trent at RB.
Totally agree with the Gordon and especially the Wharton call. I think Wharton will bring balance to the midfield
@@Football_Unlimited we really should’ve given Wharton some minutes before we reached the knockouts.
We’re too slow and predictable. Makes it easy for opponents. Need to try Wharton asap
personally, and as much as I love Kobbie, Jude needs to be playing alongside Rice so he can get on the ball and effect the game more. Stick Foden in the 10, Gordon on the left, Palmer on the Right
THEN you'd eave Rice on his own.Rice is a box to box so has a tentedcy to drift.JUDE is tiered anyway. He needs a break or else he's gonna get injured.

Good point.
he has a winners mentality. and is trying to push his teammates to succeed. you see that by the fact that he does an action, shows frustration and calls out that person specifically, and then gets right back to it. he doesn’t whine. he calls them to action, to be better. like a true winning leader.
By your logic he is jordan henderson ? 😂
Bellingham wondering why they have southgate after working with carlo all year 😂😂
Most players downgrade on their manager at international level. The best coaches are in club football. You could say the same about any of the Spain players who play for Madrid.
I've been wondering that myself for the last 8 years
Bellingham is an 8, the same as Rice, one of them needs to sit and come off the bench to give us energy in the 2nd half. Our 10's should be Palmer and Foden, our 6's should be Mainoo and Wharton. Gordon on the left with Eze as his backup, Saka on the Right with Borwen as his backup this is a balanced midfield
Exactly right.
People forget how young he still is and he’s just come off his first tough and long season at Real which must be a factor why he’s not playing as he has for his club. I think he’s just jaded.
Young? Get out of here this age excuse is ridiculous
Then maybe you lot should drop kane
Jude won’t be dropped deeper next season, same formation as the one which won them the UCL
Southgate is guilty of the formation, but regardless, his play/touch not good enough atm. ENG been guilty of playing the names before, so let's us please bench one of the best players in the world, but to make a better team.
Ancelotti literally said that he'll still use jude in the same rule you buffon
I think it’s because he’s absolutely fucked and Southgate won’t rest him, he’s literally played every minute of our euro’s games and it’s exhaustion. Was it? What you are proposing is not unreasonable. It is not exactly what I would do, but that is not to say it wouldn't work. However, such a significant change should take place after the tournament, not at this stage. Regardless of how experienced the players may be playing in similar systems for their clubs, it is a big ask for them to adapt as a group mid-tournament, and honestly, it is not even worth discussing as Southgate will never do that. The best we can hope for is that he maximises the current system by playing players in their natural positions, which is what I suggested.

Bellingham should be played as a 2nd pivot alongside Rice. Foden should play in the 10 role with Gordon on the left.
This is the team that will have balance and dominate.
bellingham wins ucl and starting in it but hes useless damn

It comes over that you are blaming Rice a lot. Hard for Rice when he has to cover the entire midfield on his own with everyone else being a 10 and occupying the same space. And the lack of a left back is really hurting the side.
I think Rice is great at what he does and Bellingham does get back. Rice's shortcoming is the lack of vision on the ball and range of passing l

to be fair, he was piss poor for Madrid in every KO games.

You rate Southgate, enough said
Jude flaps arms:
"He needs more from his team"
Bruno flaps arms:
"Petulance"
jude is 20 bruno doing 30 soon
I picked Bellingham in euro fantasy team gw1 for a simple reason - lazy Southgate was going to lean on his big star and hope for jude to carry the team. Anyway that's how things have panned out. Now he has Neymar syndrome, trying too hard to carry the team.
Jim we have already seen this video mate
New video? ❌ 10minute clip from his previous video?✅
I don't think we can have foden playing or kane for that matter if bellingham is a ten, we need other runners and intelligent pressers instead
Foden last match had 1 pass to Kane which came when Kane dropped deep in Englands half. Not a “10”
@@Mushroomy509The chance he HIMSELF created?yeah?midfielders are allowed to do such mistakes all the time. The problem is this wack system is not allowing Jude & Foden to create as much so when the one chance in a game comes they flop.Jude thinks his Zidane which doesn’t help as well
@@gersonjr2560 That was no “chance”, a simple 1 yard pass to Kane in ENGLAND’s OWN HALF, no the oppositions. It’s either Jude or Foden in the lineup it’s very simple.
We need to cut Bellingham some slack! He is not the only player in the English squad with a bad performance!
I went from way overrating Bellingham to now way underrating him probably
Ronaldo is doing that even in his current agt. I think it has something to do with the "main player" syndrome.
Bellingham doesn’t have the creative capacity (YET) to play where he is for England
Yes, England is at a higher level then Madrid. England have 5 WCs
@@DamianKnox11 😂😂
He doesn’t have a creative bone in his body
All creative players had it at 18
Foden and Kane are like statue who never make any runs other than schoolboy simple runs.
THIS AGED WELL HUH?
It’s simple . Okay Eze in the 10 role.
am I having deja vu or was this posted yesterday?
my theory is that maybe the Real Madrid FREEDOM is hurting him here because maybe that has taken out the tactical discipline out of his game, its almost like he's trying too many things here
If we're going after individuals now I think it's Kane who is the main issue.
I thought Trent was the problem 🥴🥴🥴
lol they thought he was a scapegoat but ain’t nothing changed since they took him out
@@lariatolariato This Scouse "scapegoat" thing is hilarious. He wasn't scapegoated...he was just bypassed in midfield constantly, I've never seen someone so out of their depth tactically.
Am I a time traveller? Could have sworn I watched this video yesterday. 🤔 Ah shucks, I'm not a time traveller, it was the live stream "How Southgate Should Setup England In The Knockouts". How dissapointing....for me.
I think h played great till he scored. Since then he has drifted and been too casual on the ball.
Maybe his success has gone to his head a bit but he just needs someone to have a chat with him.
In both legs vs city he was disappointing, always on the floor and moaning… he’s an 8 not a 10.
