@@spvidz awesome channel ! Could you please make a video on how to use the SP303 as an effects unit Inside your daw? Ordered one and can’t find many videos on how to use it in your daw. I’ll make a donation if necessary , thanks in advance !
I asked for 303 content, and you delivered. Thank you sir! Great tips. My usual workflow is to use up C and D completely before anything goes to A and B. Sometimes if I know I am not touching a sample again I will migrate it out of C and D to make space, but any time I'm chopping, resampling, or moving stuff around it is gonna be on that SmartMedia card. I have also found Koala Sampler on a phone to be the perfect 303 companion. It chops way faster, has a great time stretch to make stuff lock into a grid, and it has some okay FX it can add. I basically find and chop up samples while I'm at my day job, then when I get home I can dump them into the 303 and start sequencing. Love that you used the break from Rob Dougans Clubbed to Death for this btw, one of my favorite breaks of all time. Oh and 303 is definitely the best looking. 202 is a close 2nd, then the 404mk2, then the original 404 models, and then all the bigger SPs.
even though i have a 404 mk2 i think if a sp303 mk2 or just a rerun of the og 303 with some modern features for like 300-400 bucks existed i would buy it instantly
If its just for those two things I'd say the main advantage with the MK2 over the the SX is USB. It makes the workflow a lot faster but the SX could definitely still do those two things though
@@rootsinmotion2865 To me, the original 404 models don't make sense anymore. They lack the unique sound of the 303 or 202, and they lack the features of the 404mk2. If you can get it significantly cheaper then that is its niche, and obviously still perfectly viable as a sampler.
Agreed, the only reason I'd now recommend the SX/A is if you have a low budget and can't afford the MK2. It trumps it in every department apart from maybe the MFX sound slightly warmer on the SX but its not worth all the downsides for that one upside

The 303 is definitely the best looking SP. I’ve seen some cats rocking the 303 skin on the mk2 which looks fly af
Yeah I’ve peeped those too!
I have the 303 cover on my 404 OG. It looks cool as hell.
Brilliant idea bro ! I just copped me one today. Got to make a beat on one !

Nice! The SPS + Koala are a great mix for sure!
My favourite SP
🙌🙌🙌
303 looks amazing but I think the 202 looks the coolest. Can't beat that black and orange 😎
Good shout 🙌
That's an awesome tip, thanks
No problem 👌
Yup, that’s def the A+ work flow….I keep all my go to one shots on the internal memory and record new samples on the card. Banks A/B is the tool box
💯🙌🎉
Is there a way to delete several samples at the same time? I think that in the sp-202 you can.
You can hold CANCEL + DEL to delete the samples off every single pad, otherwise I think it’s just one at a time

Would be dope if Roland updated some of the older models. a 202 with SD or internal storage and a few other upgrades would be amazing as well
Classic skullsnapping break there 👌
Thanks man! I need to work on that 🙌
Wasn't a criticism. I love that break
Oh not at all man I just meant I need to work on it and turn it into a full idea 👌
I get ya👍. Looking forward to the beat!
thats so smart!!
Thanks for tuning in 🙌
Do you think a cheap but good condition SX is suitable for a 1st time sampler/performance tool.
Or is it worth waiting and getting the mk2?
Cheers

@@spvidz thanks for your feedback!
Are there any instances where you would advise someone to get an earlier model instead of the mk2?
