- The town of Dauin in Negros Oriental is famous for having fantastic dive sites, and also for acting as the gateway to Apo Island.
Now, diving in both of these areas, it is clear as to why Philippines is ranked among the best places in the world to dive. And if you have watched Avatar: The Way of Water, you will immediately feel immersed in this video here!
This video is a bit different from the others I've made for the past year. It features more narration from me, and I hope you found it entertaining!

Hey all! I hope you enjoyed this video!
So it turned out quite different from what I initially had in mind. I did have some shots of me doing a bit of explaining, especially at the end, but I feel like the narration made the message more organised and better suited to be used throughout the video.
Also, tiny error at the absolute end. The drone footage was supposed to be stabilised but it somehow wasn't.
This format is aok for me. 👌👍🏻💪

Being married to a Filipino, I first experienced diving in the Philippines and I agree with your assessment...it is the best diving in the world (and I've been a lot of places in 20+ years). I return every year and am happy to say I will be in Dauin again in 2024. Apo is the most beautiful coral garden; in my mind, it is more beautiful than Tubbataha and easier to get to.

You are exaggerating ... It can't be more beautiful than Tubbataha as I have dove in both Apo Island and Tubbataha.

scuba is awesome but personally only been to apo once before I got my open water, the sea was choppy on one side but ok to snorkel on the other, I'd like to go back one day on a scuba tour👍

My favorite snack caramelized sweet potato with coke or mountain dew a great combination.perhaps the iced cold soda with its spirit bursting in your throat complement well that even the tang of the ice tea could not do.

I've been there. I much prefer Pescador Island. But when it comes to "real pandora" I would say that would be Tubataha.

That was really amazing nature of the sea but now go see TUBBATAHA dive site comparison to world unesco protected site in the Philippines someone says its the next level dive spot to number one and only in the world.
We really wanna visit Tubbataha reef! But it’s very expensive and I also want to have an underwater housing for my mirrorless camera first so I can take very nice pictures and footage!
I've been to Tubbataha; the coral at Apo Island is at least as beautiful and in my humble opinion MORE beautiful...it definitely has more fish and critters. It is also cheaper and easier to get to. I will be returning for a repeat visit in 2024.
In my experience, Tubbataha is the best and ultimate scuba diving place in the Philippines, but I think the Republic of Palau scuba diving is better than Tubbataha.
Hi I dived at Komodo national park in Indonesia before. Can suggest where is a good place to dive in Philippines to me? I can’t dive at tubbataha yet cos too ex and not qualified enough
do you need to have advance diving license to dive here?
We dove with OWD there , and we rarely went below 18m 🙂
Where was better for diving malpascua or dauin
They are a bit different. Malapascua is more on sharks in my opinion. It’s not just thresher sharks there, I heard there’s also a huge bullshark lurking around there 😃
@@magnusferdinand thanks we only have time for one. A friend from the Philippines told is dauin but we've been told by other divers Malapscua.
Dude, Indonesia is far better than PH overall, and Apo has no fish left. Tubataha is really the only world class place the PH has left. I know coz I been to them all.

Did we just watch a different video? Apo had no fish left? This was literally uploaded a few days ago and those thousands of fish on that video were just CGI? Wow! 😆
Indonesia and Philippines, both are in the coral triangle. Ask regular, non-Scuba diving people to mention as many great and very well known diving areas around the world as they can, and for sure the average of all the good acceptable answers can be counted on just your one hand.
Question: So Philippines often gets voted to the top for diving destinations around the world. BUT, gets voted by who? And do they even have the proper qualifications or professional knowledge so us ordinary people can rest asured that the winning votes were cast by the best qualified, and is most trustworthy. Simple answer: They are some of a few number of people who go and enjoy Scuba diving.
So if you're one who can only name one great diving place in Philippines which happens to be the most well known around the world, then your knowledge and opinions on anything about Scuba diving would seem to be more unreliable than mine, a person who can't swim, and especially if you can't name at least 1 or 2 great and well known dive sites in Indonesia without Googling.
