- There are no words to describe being in open water with predators appearing from the deep around you. This is the only place in the world that you can dive with Thresher Sharks and almost guarantee a siting.
This unique experience was a once in a lifetime and something that should be on everyones bucket list!

It will all depends on the type of shark. You can throw in 100 Thresher sharks in an aquarium I'd gladly join them. Tiger sharks? bull sharks? and great white? Not for a million dollars.
@@JABM-AU I'm with you on that one. I'd still feel a little uncomfortable with a 100 Tresher in a tiny space 😕 🙃
To be fair it's not very scary but a sight to behold too!!
I'd gladly jump into the water to join even the most aggressive sharks 🦈rather than be with a single LOAN shark. 😁😁

A lot of marine biologists haven’t seen thresher sharks in real life and it’s not for the lack of trying. I’m happy you guys get to see them

There are so odd looking right?? Very unique sharks. Obviously apart from that long fin their eyes are also very different from any other sharks

So worth it! I believe it was 1800 peso for two dives when we went. Highly recommend Daves as it is locally owned!

Hey Suzanna, the dive isnt too deep no more than 20 - 25m our ears we fine as long as you go down as slowly as you need to go everything should be fine. Hope you have an amazing and safe dive

Was this Monad Shoal? I heard the threshers there have been replaced by tiger sharks. 😐 i was last in Malapascua in 2012. Truly a magical experience.

At this Time they are 30 Dive Shops on Malapascua, terrible!
So many Boats and divers not good for Monad Shoal and the Animals...
We agree there are too many boats in the one spot. We also saw some poor behaviour from other divers too. It would be great if they limited the number of visitors allowed each day

Unfortunately the ocean is littered with trash. Although we didn’t spot any on our dive, there was a lot washed up on the beaches of Malapascua. It’s very sad to see

I'm jealous as hell 😩 Btw, did you guy's used your GoPro with an additional clear housing for additional protection? I'm a bit afraid to use mine without it. We typically go to the Florida coast on the Gulf side and at a depth of around 110 feet (about 33.5 m). Definitely ours is not as exciting as the PI.
Hey Reyes, yeah we use a dive case. I think the deepest recommended is 12m. Are you saying that you don't use a case when you dive that deep?? We also saw at the shops yesterday that there are lenses for the loss of colours built for Gopro

Highly recommend it was an amazing experience. I can’t remember exactly the price but I believe it was around 2000 pesos for two dives (give or take a little😅)

Choosing who looks juiciest! They seemed really calm actually which made us feel very calm as well. They just eat fish and squid like any other shark. Apparently there are no reported attacks from Thresher Sharks on humans, but that might also be because they usually live very deep, this is a very special spot

The concept is to pinpoint the frequency of the nice, decrease the volume of that frequency
This will up your voice versus the background noise
