I love my pixie and my husband loves it too! But my sisters and my co workers all dislike it. They think it's boyish. I love dressing edgy and I think my pixie cut suits my personality well. It puzzles me why they cant see what I see. As long as my husband is a fan of it, I'm keeping my pixie cut!

After months of doubts because I didn't think my face was pretty enough for a pixie cut and because my family (especially my mother) told me not to do it, I FINALLY HAVE A PIXIE CUT. I haven't stopped receiving compliments and I'm very happy because it looks great on me, I look gorgeous, and most importantly, I feel more like myself.
Girl thank you for this. I've been dying to get a pixie since forever but my fear of looking ugly and the illusion of my round chubby face looking even rounder and chubbier has been holding me back. Im gonna ask my mom to take me to a salon tom so I can finally get it. Hope it goes well!!
@@emogoesboom How did your pixie cut go? How long was your hair before you went to the salon? Are you loving it and hopefully getting lots of compliments to make you feel good about your decision

I wore a pixie when I was younger and I loved it. I gained some weight due to medications and grew it longer. I missed my pixie. I was pretty much told it wouldn’t look good on me anymore. I had a few bad cuts and felt hopeless. Then I saw a video by a different hairstylist and he explained the ways different face shapes can wear a pixie with a few adjustments. He explained where it should be shorter and where it should be longer. I went for it. I’m so happy to be wearing short hair again. I just needed it changed up a bit with shorter sides and nape and fullness on the top. It created a slimmer looking face with his tips.

This was so timely. I’ve had a pixie for five years, but recently thought about growing it out. I may need a change but a different version of short hair. I LOVE product, always pulled it back when long, think my hair long is boring… thank you for this video.
Agreed with the long hair deal. I feel it's a PIA & mine gets tangled, static electricity in the winter & its high maintenance. I had a pixie once & just got it again - 24 years later! I love it!! Plus I'm going grey & growing it out. I have gotten more comments on how good it looks on me & how pretty my face is because you're finally able to see my face! I have a small face so it works for me. I love the fun liberating feel of it ! I say GO FOR IT!!
I’ve had a pixie for about 5 years now, and I absolutely love it!! I love earrings even more, and with my pixie I’ve been able to show off all of my fun earrings! More people perfer my short hair anyway to my long hair! They say that the pixie suits me better!! JUST TRY IT OUT!!! You can always get a wig if you hate it!!
You encouraged me to go back to a pixie. I have add so many types of haircuts; long, mid-length, pixie, short, layered, blunt, name it. I've had brown, reddish, blond and now natural silver hair (which zi will keep) and welling to wear a pixie again. Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely wearing a pixie again 😊
It feels like you took all of the thoughts I've had on pixie cuts and put it together in this video! 😄 The only exception for me is that I do dislike hair products 🙈 But due to my wavy texture, it manages to style itself, fortunately. The pointer about always tying your hair back is what made me finally cut my pixie. No matter how short I would cut my bob, I just always scooped it behind my ears until I realised that the pixie cut is what I was looking for!
I’ve never had a pixie cut but I’ve been wanting one for years. I’ve been working on growing my hair out but I’m bored with it and I have to wear it off my collar for work anyway. Pins, clips and hair ties just make my headaches worse than they already are. I’m still terrified but I can’t wait for my appointment in a few weeks. Thank you for the encouragement and confidence boost.
I think I’d like to get a pixie next summer when it’s warmer out. I like very short pixies and I think I might try that. Great video. Agree with everything you said. 🥰
I love this video, especially the part where you say that it’s alright to not want to have long hair. I’m 49 and right now my hair is the longest it’s been since I got my first pixie when I was 13, and I fell in love. Two years ago I started embracing my natural waves/curls and decides to grow my hair out and I am enjoying it but I’m starting to really miss my pixie…..
I figure, since I always have my hair pulled up anyway, that a pixie wouldn't look a lot different. It might even look better. I've had it that short in the past, and I'm getting ready to do it again. As an added bonus, my hair won't "hurt" anymore since the weight of it won't be pulling at my scalp anymore. I probably won't use a lot of product, though. I figure my hair is thick and wavy enough that it should be okay. I guess I'll find out. :) I like how my long hair feels when it's down, but for me it's hot and itchy. I work in a very hot environment that products would not hold up in.
I adore my pixies!!! Cut my first one myself at 20- so 55 years of pixies! White blond now (thank you to my Grandma’s genes😘) and very dramatic. Get lots of compliments.
Oh my gosh I want one. I’ve been eyeing pics and saving them to a folder on my phone…I have a hair appt in 2 days and I can’t WAIT but I’m afraid I’m going to chicken out. I want to go platinum too when I do it.
As I’m getting closer to my 30th lately I’ve been looking into pixies. But I always thought women with finer features could pull off a pixie. This video gives me something to think about.
I got a pixie haircut a couple of years ago after having my hair in a short bob for years. It's the best thing I ever did. However once it started growing out I liked it even better... It kind of looks like the Lisa Rinna Haircut but with longer layers.. Remember.. Never short layers when hair is fine/ not plentiful or thick .. I aso use my Conair Easy start hot rollers after I blow dry it and then spray my hair with Finesse hairspray once the rollers are in . I wait until the rollers cool down .. take the rollers out.. gently brush and Voila..fullness and great style!... Love it!
As someone with a mother who always focuses on appearance and how 'long hair is so feminine' I've chopped my hair to above my shoulders for many years. Occasionally I'll let it grow, then it's just a mass of shapeless, boring hair and I'll have inches taken off it.. Still contemplating a pixie cut - my husband always says that I look lovely with my hair back and I often find myself shoving it back in a hairband or a tiny ponytail. My slightly wider and rounder face makes me think otherwise though 😅
I have a pixie and for the first time EVER my cowlicks work! They add lift to my crown naturally. I need to master the use of products, but I'll never go back to even shoulder length hair again.
I’ve had pixies almost all my life! I moved to a different part of the country, most women have long hair here, then add the Pandemic to that, my hai is about 4 inches below my shoulders! I absolutely hate it, except the color - I let it go silver! It’s just finding to cut it 😢
I am 70 and my hair is long. I do color it regularly. I am too lazy for a pixie. I have watched my sister who looks great in short hair struggle everyday with fixing her hair and never really is satisfied with it.
Seriously contemplating going back to a pixie. The only time I'm able to stand long hair is when I have semi permanent fun dye in it, then I spend a lot of time and effort maintaining it. Right now my hair is just past shoulder length, straight and lifeless with an overgrown undercut and side shave.
I wonder. I am thinking about getting a pixi but I seriously don't know. I had short hair in the past (in childhood when it was a go-to haistale my gradma choose for me, and during university, when I got so fed up with my long hair I went and cut them really short one night and I had to go to a haisstylist the next day). I liked it. I am currently at the stage my hair was during my university days, pre the dramatic haircut. I actually went and cut a few strings of my hair last night like I did back then but I chickened out. The strings I cut don't stand out because the hair in my pony tail cover them well enough, tbh my hair are pretty forgiving because they are dense and just a little bit wavy. I am wearing the pony tain with no bangs since many years now. Last night I let my hair down and ended up standing in front of the mirror saying "it isn't me" because I hated my long hair so much. But: I dislike going to hairstylists (hairstylists are not so bad, but I don't have that kind of money they want, and I lack patience to book a visit so I usually end up cutting my own hair or asking my friends to do it for me) and I loathe hairproducts and haidryer. I wish my hair to be wash and go. I don't mind washing them in the morning and drying them with a towel if they are short enough to do that but I hate the slimy feel hair products leave on my hair and the noise of hair dryer (although if they were short it might be fine, my current hair reguire 20-30mins of drying so I just go to sleep with wet hair nowadays because I lack the patience to use the loud haidryer for so long). I dont think there would be much difference between my current hairstyle and a pixie cut because I keep all my hair in a tight low ponytail all the time but I don't want to be forced to go to haistylist and use hairproducts. Should I get one? I hate any kind of hairstyle between a pixie cut and "long enough for a ponytail" hairstyle because I just hate having hair on my face. That's another reason why I am so undecisive - I dont wnat to go theorugh the "growing it out" stage again, especially growing my bangs out. I do look good in bangs, better than without - but they are a hassle to trim so I end up growing them out once the rest of my hair is long enough to make a pony tail. I got too much hair to grow both bangs and the rest of hair out at the same time because all my hair just doesn't fit behind my ears and typical hairpins also can't hold them in place. Also my mom wa svery angry with me the only I cut my hair short. I loved my new look back then but she kept telling me I look like a boy and that she gave birth to a girl, not a boy and to promise her I will never do it again and that I have pretty hair and that I shouldn't cut it (she even gets angry with me if I cut my hair shorter than shoulder lenght, despite me keeping them in a damn ponytail all the freaking time anyway). I dont even mind being mistaken as a boy. I consider myself genderfluid so it actually make sit easier sometimes. And I prefer girls so I seriously could care less guys might dislike me with short hair. Although I admit I kinda like how the pony tail looks on my back when it's long compared to when its short. But what about that if I loathe washing my hair and getting my hair down the more the longer they get.
While I love experimenting with wigs and clip in extensions, I HATE having my own hair long. I can't even stand chin length hair. Everytime I fall into the "but long hair is so pretty" trap and try to grow my hair out long, I immediately feel stressed, wrong and out of place. I know I don't look bad or wrong with longer hair, but the feel of it? Not for me. I prefer having super short hair (most of the time cropped sides/undercut and a bit longer on top). I also prefer short hair combined with my clothing style. My clothing style plus longer hair looks okay but kinda off balance. I love a lot of texture, whispy bangs, out of the face styles and even a super short crop. I even had my hair buzzed off completely a few years ago and loved the feel of it. With short hair I can do a wash and go or style it in various ways while I always kept long hair up in a bun, a french twist or a pony tail. Even when I wore tape extensions, I ALWAYS kept it either braided or in an updo. I think you will figure out quite quickly whether you're a short hair girl or not once you tried it. Also: I always though I couldn't wear short hair when I was younger because my face is on the wider side, but actually most hair stylists I talked to back then tried to talk me into getting a pixie cut because they thought I had the right face for it. Imho they were absolutely right about it. I think it's more about the structure and the overall features of your face rather than the width of it. And of course your personal preference.
During lockdown in 2020, suppose a woman with a short, Emma Watson pixie cut suddenly had to grow it out without trimming the back (both due to salons closing and the woman not wanting to risk ruining her hair by trimming it herself). After the dreaded mullet phase, what would her hair look like after growing out her pixie nonstop for 2+ years without having had a single trim (assuming the woman has medium to high density, a fine, straight texture with a slight body wave, an average growth rate of 5-6 inches per year, and healthy virgin hair that doesn’t split or break easily)? I’m just curious because everyone I know who grew out a pixie did it while getting regular trims.
@sklptdhair I’m wanting to get a pixie again after growing my hair long after I lost it all, but I’m worried because I don’t have a pleasant looking neck anymore or a defined jawline 😬😕😥 everybody I see with one has a youthful neck
I’ve been playing around with getting a pixie for the last few years now. This video helped me check A LOT of boxes. Can you recommend a good salon in NJ.
That’s so great to hear! I would search haircutter New Jersey on instagram and see who you like! A good haircut is worth a drive too if you want to go somewhere outside of your area
There’s something freeing about short hair, both is beautiful but I find I just put my hair in ponytail all the time when it’s long, so all the rubbish about round faces can’t do short well when it’s pulled back all the time it’s not framing the face. I can’t “”do” long anymore I just don’t cope with it down, so I’m shoulder length now but going short again. The only reason I hesitate is because my autistic son doesn’t like me changing, when he was young and I made mistake of picking him up at school having gone short he didn’t cope well. Ha he is 29 now and still remembers it. But I have to talk about it for a while explain to him and he will be fine, I wouldn’t do that for any other man, even though I have a lovely partner that although like my hair long, would never say a negative work about me cutting it off
I love my short hair, i keep saying i will try growing it out for a change and can't get past 5 months and im ready to get a pixie again.i love what you said about long hair has nothing to to with being beautiful and feminine. I have had women tell me they love my short hair on me however they could never do it because their husbands won't allow it. OMG THIS statement KILLS ME! I have also had men telll me that They like their women with long hair. I won't say here my response 😂😂😂. I also know my husband loves anything i do with my hair and loves me in short hair. The Old stereotypes of women have to have long hair is stupid especially these days. I don't understand why someone would think a woman isn't sexy or beautiful without long hair???? Im grateful i DON'T CARE what others think, i do what i love with my own hair! Thank you for sharing
I always loved a pixie, although when I was overweight it wasn’t flattering. Actually, I had to see myself in a photo from my nephew’s wedding for the rude awakening. Think about a balloon flying down Fifth Ave in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Fast forward to a remarkable weight loss and long hair that I pull off my face into a twist because it flatters my face. I’m 66, and my face and neck are showing signs of aging. Maybe a pixie wouldn’t be the way to go now.
I want to get a pixie but I don’t have the money for the maintenance for it ? I have long hair past my shoulders ? I think I have a Fat Face too I’m worried my face will look more fat with the pixie ? I’m thinking maybe Not a Pixie ? Maybe a A- Line cut or just a shorter Bob where the ends are covering my chin . Everyone tells me not to cut my hair but I tell them I hate drying my hair then it gets frizzy on the ends . I have product for my hair now but I still have to see what I want . Maybe not a Pixie bc of the maintenance maybe a short Bob ?
Honestly I think round faces are usually told they look good in pixies more often than longer faces… it’s one of the main reasons I’ve always been jealous of round faces. If I was confident I looked good in a pixie I’d never have long hair. But I have a long-ish diamond shaped face
I have a really short Bob and wavy fine Hair. I think it Looks okay but a bit boring. I want a pixie, but i' m scared, it will not look good wizh my long face. Any thoughts?
My husband really wants me to get a pixie bc he says he loves my hair pulled back like you said. But he envisions me to look like Kaley Cuoco or Miley Cyrus who he adores and my hair and face aren’t like theirs at all. My hair is super fine and naturally wavy and soft. Right now I have a bob bc It’s versatile and pixies just aren’t. I think what really made me lean more towards no is when you said I need a lot of product. Boo lol. But I enjoyed this video! I think it helped me decide 😊
Oh I would love to take a look at your hair! You technically only need about 3 products and be open to styling it and having fun with it. But if you’re a low maintenance person it may not be for you. Thank you for your comment!
Don’t be fearful of it. You don’t have to go super textured like Kaley Cuoco. You can do a pixie with more on top which requires a lot of product. If you are wanting a wash and go shorter cut, a stylist can get you there.
Im 24, just had my first baby, and am dealing with major post pardum hair loss. Ive always wanted short hair since i was a teenager, but was always scared to get it. I really want to cut it, but my hair is kind of curly so i dont know what it would actually look like. Has anyone had a pixie with curly hair before?
Thanks so much for asking! Your best bet is to see a curly specialist. Look up #curlyhaircuttingspecialist and any variation of that in your area. Go to someone who's IG showcases great curly hair. I've done curly pixies on clients but it's such a detailed job you need a specialist. Join the SKLPT'D Hair FB Community here: facebook.com/groups/6596830316998448/
I just want short laid back hair, I have little interest in doing my hair and it hangs to my waist. I was raised religious so it’s never been cut or trimmed.
As a guy who would probably love your long hair, since most tresses are an incredible asset on a woman, it sounds as if your hair dominates you instead of vice versa.
So many of these videos trash long hair. Long hair is not boring. I can change it up so many different ways, not so with pixie. I would be stuck with it. I think I need to move on.
For those of us who got scared with the fact that we need a ton of products.... no, we don't. I've had a pixie cut for a good while now, and never needed that much product. Make sure you blow dry it, style it after the shower, never! Go to bed with wet hair, and you can get away with some volume products in the morning if you feel like it.
I feel i want to get some sort of a shaggy pixie, but I’ve got wavy/curly hair, so I’m not too sure if I’d just shoot myself in the foot with fighting with my hair everyday 🥲

If fragrance in products bothers you, there are some fragrance free or natural fragrance … for example, the paste I use has natural spearmint.
I had an undercut pixie. I loved it, but a lot of people hated it. I grew it out a little and now I want to shave it and cut it shorter again!

Seriously contemplating going back to a pixie. The only time I'm able to stand long hair is when I have semi permanent fun dye in it, then I spend a lot of time and effort maintaining it. Right now my hair is just past shoulder length, straight and lifeless with an overgrown undercut and side shave.
Thank you for the video, perfect timing🥰💇♀
You're very welcome!! 🙏
You look gorgeous in a pixie!!
I chose a Pixie last week.
Amazing!
Yes! Thank you for sharing that
I love my pixie because i swim 6 days a week it is so easy to take care of
During lockdown in 2020, suppose a woman with a short, Emma Watson pixie cut suddenly had to grow it out without trimming the back (both due to salons closing and the woman not wanting to risk ruining her hair by trimming it herself).
Pixie suits you the best, you look at your best with the shortest one.
Oh my god thank you so much. I love it too but I can’t stand the maintenance and I also love long hair 😂
@sklptdhair I’m wanting to get a pixie again after growing my hair long after I lost it all, but I’m worried because I don’t have a pleasant looking neck anymore or a defined jawline 😬😕😥 everybody I see with one has a youthful neck
I have a pixie because I don't like my hair long. It doesn't look good on me plus I got more compliments on my short hair.
Great video ❤
I love my Pixie hair cut now..
So glad!!
I have also had men telll me that
They like their women with long hair.
Men should just grow their own hair and leave us alone
I always loved a pixie, although when I was overweight it wasn’t flattering. Actually, I had to see myself in a photo from my nephew’s wedding for the rude awakening. Think about a balloon flying down Fifth Ave in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Fast forward to a remarkable weight loss and long hair that I pull off my face into a twist because it flatters my face. I’m 66, and my face and neck are showing signs of aging. Maybe a pixie wouldn’t be the way to go now.
Congratulations on your progress! The best haircut is the one you feel your best in. You'll never be younger than you are today :)
Try a bob, always a safe and timeless look
Honestly I think round faces are usually told they look good in pixies more often than longer faces… it’s one of the main reasons I’ve always been jealous of round faces. If I was confident I looked good in a pixie I’d never have long hair. But I have a long-ish diamond shaped face
Who should have french bob 🤔?I have fine thin hair with round face!Do you think It will look good on me?
I have fine hair too, you will look great. Just make sure you have a little longer hair on the side to frame and elongate your face.😀
Absolutely. Pull your hair up and see what length you like!
@@sklptdhair Thank you!

Would love a pixie but who do you trust that knows how to cut it correctly
In NY got any suggestions
I’m actually planning on coming to NY! DM me on IG @linadoeshair
I love my pixie - only can’t find a hairdresser that can give me a decent cut….

@@sklptdhair Thank you! I will look in my area!
Not for round faces and double chins though.
Get a lob, blunt cut to your collarbone. You'll be able to pull it back or let it down
Not really with the products.a bit of spray
Love that for you
So many of these videos trash long hair.
Never go to bed with wet hair because it can cause mold on the scalp and eczema
I feel i want to get some sort of a shaggy pixie, but I’ve got wavy/curly hair, so I’m not too sure if I’d just shoot myself in the foot with fighting with my hair everyday 🥲
