Excellent review. I’m pretty much a beginner, when you choose a dashboard, does it include what the lights do? I have made a small diy button box and a diy iFlag. Maybe I’ll try making a DDU as well.
Thanks Cliff, all built DDUs come with an LED profile. You can also download some from Daniel Newman Racing website. He has different profiles. Or you can build your own profile in Simhub.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our TDU5 Ameer, we also really appreciate the support with your preorder. We enjoyed watching the video and to hear that overall you like our product! Great job with that. Just to note on the USB-C cable, we had a mishap with our 90-degree angled cable order, so we had to supply regular straight cables with the preorders. Going forward they'll be supplied with the angled cables which should help get it closer to your screen and prevent damage - if you hit up our support we'll ship you one!
Your welcome man, you made a pretty good product at a really nice price point. Great job man. Props for sticking through this with all the out of your control issues you had to deal with. For sure, I will!
Huh, suspicious. This hub looks exactly like all those chinese whitelabel ones. Did you open it and confirm it's custom by turn and not just the housing? It also looks almost identical to the one from leoxz. All of those are also just USB-C plug and play, come with the same 800x480 screen etc. In fact the chinese ones mostly come with L usb cables... I wonder what's the original here. Anyway, that aside the USB port on the back is a joke. You can't mount it close to the screen, you can't mount it close to a wheelbase... even L shape won't turn that into a gapless. Weird choices.
They use a custom PCB from PCBWay and use an STM32 chip. I've been following their build progress on this from the beginning on this DDU. It not just some cheap board from China. At first, I was weirded out by the normal USB cable, but Zack just said in the post before yours, they were supposed to supply an L cable, but ran into issues and offered to send me a new cable.
Great review Ameer, thanks.
My pleasure
Great review Ameer! or was it Shaun hard to tell them apart lol

Thank you!
Was the title supposed to be 5.0 inch? 50 is a bit odd. 🤔
Yeah, mistyped it, it is a 5.0 screen
All what TURN does is super high quality 👌 ❤

For $227 it looks pretty cheap! Can buy a 6.8in ddu from simline with aluminum housing and on/off switch also plus more lights for $333 shipped to USA
Yeah, even though it’s not a touch point, having the DDU made from aluminum is an important feature for me.
Huh, suspicious.
