    One query is from: damodhar vanjarapu:
    Hi,
    In the step-5 below,u have created a air box. I'm not able to create the same thing. Can u please help me. In ur video it is not clear.
    -------------------------------------------------------
    Ans:
    If you see at 10:00:00 time instant,
    I have copied already existing Air1 and rename it by ''radiation" box and modified the dimensions.
    # Actually in waveguide, as it is closed structure there is no need of radiation boundary, you may simulate it without that.

      Hi Voon 183,
      Thanks for your question.
      Let me know your design first. As waveguide is designed by metal with air filled. There is no option of substrate.
      Please feel free to elaborate your point.

    How to calculate the thickness (th) of the rectangle wall?
    I am going to simulate rectangular waveguide a type of WR-12 , where a is 3.1 mm and b is 1.55 mm. Also, how to determine the length L for my rectangle?

    • @joydebmandal2440
      @joydebmandal2440 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thumbrule is greater than 5 times of skin depth for choosing the thickness of the waveguide. For example at 10 GHz, skin depth 2 um (say), min thickness will be 10 um.

      Propagation constant. K=2*pi/lamda, where lamda=Vp/freq;
      For free space, K=K_0, Vp=c, light velocity;
      Means, K_0=2*pi/lamda_0=2*pi*freq/Vp=2*pi*freq/c;

      You are removing air from metal, so in boolean subtraction you must have this metal in first box and air in second boc and then apply

      Actually not required, no radiation we are expecting, by the way, simply air inner portion of wg, by default surrounded are pec...we can design waveguide that way too.

    how to plot fields for mode 2 and mode 3. When I am trying to plot field for mode2, mode1 field is appearing. please help me..

    • @rfzone3099
      @rfzone3099  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can see port field for each cases.
      To see the field over the waveguide for higher order mode, you have to suppress others mode. That is the another way of design.
      One option may be you have to feed power in such that it suppress TE10 mode, then you can see TE20 mode.
      I hope that I answered your ques. Any doubt you may contact me.

    • @tavvaswathi123
      @tavvaswathi123 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      how to suppress other modes. how much power and how to feed power in our design. I have another question, that is, can we design dielectric resonator cavity in hfss and view the field distribution for the dielectric resonator?

    • @rfzone3099
      @rfzone3099  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Mode suppression includes another design complexity, for you I can suggest: you change the solution frequency and see the field pattern by selecting inner of the w/g for the particular frequency.
      let say, for X band for TE20 mode appears after 14GHz. Set solution frequency 14 Ghz and see the field pattern inside the w/g.
      2. Power feed:
      In HFSS you need not to feed power in the design. You define the port thats all.
      3. Dielectric resonator:
      Yes. It is FULL wave simulator, so you can easily design dielectric resonator cavity in hfss and view the field distribution for the dielectric resonator.
      Thanks for your Ques.

      This is Scattering parameter like Z, Y parameter. For high frequency voltage current may not possible to measure, reflection and transmission have to consider thats why S parameter is useful

    sir thank you very much.
    sir , if i will give the wave port to one side then can i see the radiation pattern means, how the wave is coming from other side (other side i will not give any wave port )
    sir , i also want how to give coaxial feed to circular wave guide. could you please upload sir..

    • @rfzone3099
      @rfzone3099  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mr. Dilli for your question. It is very interesting question.
      Yes you can place one port for any design to see the radiation pattern. Remember that your design must have enough energy for radiation. Means S11 below -10 dB with good gain. Another way you can check radiation in two port design also. See the S11 below -10 dB and S21 also more than -10 dB, means it has enough radiation. Radiation= 1-(S11*S11-S21*S21). Actually used in Leaky wave antenna.
      For your information, when you will go to design then you must check radiation by checking the formula. Sometimes, without consent antenna can be designed.
      Next, time I will try coaxial feed to circular wave guide.
      Subscribe.
