It is realy nice to get a fresh perspective of Berlin. As someone who lives around Berlin, I found it quite boring to be honest. But now I am motivated to go out and find some new angles. Thank you for the inspiration!
Great video. I've walked the route so many times and it's interesting to see your view of the city. And thanks for the nice photo walk on Sunday. was fun
I would've shoot a full second the first time you pointed including the people passing, pretending to wait for them to pass. Love your videos by the way you're incredibly talented
I just got myself a sigma 24-70 and i’ve been feeling so confident behind the camera. I love the versatility of these focal lengths and can’t wait to try and take it to the streets!
isnt it crazy how high tech camera sensors cant expose an image, how our eye can? Its either you over expose the sky to get details from the darker areas, or you underexpose the sky, unless lighting is pristine. yet our eyes have no problem keeping everything lit and somewhat balanced. just a thought that popped into my brain. great vid!
I have that exact same set up and love it. I bought it after selling my Leica Q2 as it was too restrictive for my only camera. It’s Virginia Creeper by the way 🌱
When I was in Berlin back in March 2010 (University trip) we visited what I can only describe as the biggest monument to a persons ego - The Helmut Newton museum.
great video man! its cool to see you shooting here in Germany. could you please let me know if you ever come to Frankfurt am Main haha? I will be in London in July and I am watching your videos to find the best spots to shoot :)
Great POV. I’ve been looking at doing some quick day visits to different European cities and you’ve just boosted Berlin to the top! It looks incredible. Any advice for someone taking a quick trip there?
Book in advance to save in cash, if you plan a few short trips in the future you’ll save instead of it being spontaneous, try to do as much as you can in the mornings so there’s less people about so you can pick your frames easier. Try not to take photos of people directly without their permission as this is a rule in Germany. But be mindful and you’ll be fine. It’s a great city! Wish I had more time there.
@@Opticalwander oh sweet. Thanks for getting back to me. The advice is really good too. I always research online first but always best to get it first hand. Cheers
Hi, great video as always. Does anyone know what is that building with symmetrical windows recommended for portraits? Many thanks. I happened to be in Berlin and my GF likes the location.
Hi Sam, just purchased your presets. I'm overwhelmed lol, can't choose one of 125 presets. Which preset is used on this video? I'm particularly looking for the blueish lights.
Shit dude 😳 i know the Germans are behind us with a few things ie some music bands are still massively famous over there 😁 but did you just walk passed a C&A's store? I remember them from yrs ago 😂😂😂 cool video and thanks for taking the time to do this ❤️
Well it comes with experiencing, and if you have live view on your camera you may enable live exposure which basically shows what the picture will look like
Hi Sam, one more great video mate. Keep up the good job. I just bought a sigma 24-70 for my sony camera and havent try it yet on street photography. What do you think about your lense? Does it worth the money? Was it helpful on street level?
🤣🤣🤣🤣"today im heading out into the streets of Börlin" ah yes, anglophones and their inability to pronounce foreign names correctly Edit: also, and this isnt a criticism i hate this as well, but technically speaking this entire video is illegal. This is one of the biggest challanges in street photography/videography in Germany, because technically you would have needed to: a. in writing inform everyone you either photograph or videotape that you are a1. doing it a2. why you are doning it a3. for how long you are going to save the photograph/video a4. how they can reach out and get you to delete the material b. get written consent that you can do all of the afformentioned things except for a1 because the simple act of photographing or filming in it of it self is legal, however the further use of the material is governed by the DSGVO (datenschutzgrundverordnung, eng: general data protection act) and the "Recht am eigenen Bild" law (the right to your own picture, as in any photograph taken in germany is owned to equal parts by the photographer aswell as the subject). the DSGVO governs how to handle personal data and the Recht am eigenen Bild law handles the further use of any image material. I hate doing street photography in germany. Ive opted to use a telephoto lense, liek a 105 or 135mm because it allows me to take photos of people without them noticing and without them being identifable, which avoids the entire legal process.
@@Opticalwander yea, ive been trying find a work around for th elegal situation for a while, this is a hot topic in Germany.culturally its getting more and more accepted but the legal situation is actually getting worse

As far as German cities go, Berlin is rather boring. Still a ton of great places to shoot at though 👍

I’m looking at buying my first GM lens…. Would you recommend either the 24-70 GM or the 16-35 GM?
Nice 👍👍👍
Ich frage mich die ganze Zeit, welcher Innenhof das bei 8:07 ist?!
Hello, what kind of camera can I have?
Berlin has a Karl Marx Street interesting. Great photos btw
are there any other brands that you could suggest that have the same similar focal lenght??
Do a comparison test between the sony and the samyang 24-70 please (:

please go to the netherlands abd then go to amsterdam and haarlem. from haarlem to amsterdam with the train is like 20 min
Sooo... 24-70mm or primes? What's your preference?

Love the pov, do mind asking how do you know whats good for camera settings like iso exposure??
Well it comes with experiencing, and if you have live view on your camera you may enable live exposure which basically shows what the picture will look like
What they said ⬆️ it takes time to learn and for me I know my camera and it’s capabilities how far I can push it etc. live view helps a lot.
Is this a Sunday?

Hey what do you use your presets on ?
At 7:24 he says that this day is to explore the city instead of getting bangers but literally his worst shots are way better than my best shots😅
Does Jim have a link for his Insta so I can follow
hey man what program do you use to edit the photos? or do they come out that way straight out of the camera?
He has his own presets that he uses (: I think he either uses photoshop or lightroom
Maybe at some point jimmy and you can visit cologne 😁
👍🏻
4:30 ... Maaaaan, Keule, raus aus der Rabatte! :D
1:38 try do get any shots down here… the Person in Front Starts to Walk faster 😂😂😂
Parthenocissus .... Virginia creeper???? Goes bright red in autumn.
