from what i can tell from my friend's husband, enlisted military folks get offered a re-enlistment every 3 years or so and they can either take it and serve another 3ish years or "retire". however, if you stay for 20 years or more, that's when you qualify for pension.

He told the EMTS he found me passed out, faced down in a pool of blood and went to work, came back ate lunch, still bleeding, went back to work, came home then played 3 hours of video games until he couldn’t feel a pulse and had a heart attack. They got there and brought me back. And even with all that and he telling them he did this purposefully to the drs and EMTS, I got 0 Justice. He also had poisoned me which is why I was bleeding from every hole in my body while my kidneys failed. Idk how long he really left me there, because I was on an insulin pump, which means it must’ve ran out of insulin, cause when they picked me up I was over 2,000.
My daughter was also since she was little wanted to be a vet but called me crying one day from school 23 years old CRYING mom I have to put animals to sleep!!! 😭 But after a semester off realized that yes she would have to do things that was super hard but she would be taking away their pain and more helping them hurting she is now a vet technician feeling it out while she finishes school!! Super proud of my Hayley Brooke❤️❤️

Don't ever be worried to bring up the family member who is missing, dead, or murdered. You aren't "reminding them" of the trauma. That trauma is there and will always be there 24/7. Often people welcome an opportunity to reminisce and share good memories of that family member. Any death is hard, but especially a murder victim's death, as people don't want to hurt the family member again. Trust me, you can't hurt them any worse.
Not true for everyone. I would like to not burst out crying in public or around anyone at all and need to go hide in a bathroom to compose myself. Some people can bottle it up, not think too hard on it, while others like me can't, and we have to just feel depressed all of the time but force ourselves to stop thinking about it to not be crying 24/7 and to go on living. It's been three years for me, and I'm tearing up just writing this because grief is always there, but it's worse if you bring them up.

I’m ok with the XBox IF it helps the prisoners behave in Prison AND, it doesn’t connect to the internet or have violent games. I’m all about reform, serious reform, watching Prisoners doing the work. I feel so blessed that my Son, my DIL and my Grandson are a happy family. But, if they ever separated, I would stay out of it and help ALL of them in any way I can. My DIL is part of our family!

Nah you’re right. I’m guessing that it was the end of his current service and he was considering reenlisting and decided against it. I joined for five years and couldn’t just leave just cause until that five years was up. And I chose not to reenlist for another four.

The boys went out to eat, my husband met the wife and kids (this was before our little human) and it was so beautiful to see honestly. There is a case that is still happening, a California man named shun Riley came to my town I've grown up in, kelso/longview Washington, for a temporary job, only suppose to be here a month. Went missing may 9th, 2024. His family said they received a call from him the night he went missing but couldn't hear much as he sounded distant, but could hear him say, "go this way, go this way" or something similar. They were worried so had a welfare check on him at the hotel he was staying at. He had left most of his belongings and had left with no shoes. Later he was found dead in our river, the cowlitz river. Nothing is making sense and the family just wants to know what happened and to get the word out. He left behind a wife and beautiful children. Me, my town, and his family and friends would be so appreciative if you could help get the word out. Even if it's not a lot of information and short. Thank you so much for all your hard work with all the cases you have gone over over the years. You're the truly an angel ❤

This is just so incredibly sad and heartbreaking. He was a bum he didn't want to work. He wanted to play video games all the time. He was an abuser so his wife obviously took matters in our own hands to protect herself and her children just to have him murder her period it's absolutely disgusting. My heart goes out to her family. I'm so glad that his sister got the courage to mail that letter after 7 years so that she could reconnect and also see her nieces. She really is the hero in all of this because with her going to see her brother a few times it broke him down enough to actually tell where the body was. I couldn't imagine my child being murdered and then not knowing where my child's body is so I couldn't give him a beautiful going away ceremony. My son is 28 years old and he's a gamer. Not so much anymore but he actually became really really good friends with a couple of people in the gaming community. At the time we lived in Pennsylvania and then we moved to Massachusetts when my son was getting ready to start high school. It turned out one of his gaming buddies lived in Rhode Island so they met up for the first time years ago so they knew each other for like 10 years. But it's so crazy how this young 20 year old college student just went along with something so incredibly dark and brutal for someone he really didn't even know except for online. Yes they met up a couple of times but you still don't really know them and plus there was a huge age difference. I really was happy to hear that even the investigators and police officers that had retired were there when her body was being brought up . I never heard of this case so thank you so much for sharing this story with us

He is not a monster, he is a vile men similar to others, and this is worse in some ways, because feminicide is so prolific in our patriarchal society... this is part of the misogyny that makes men feel entitled to end their wifes lives, to torture, to be abusive... we see this every day in the midia. About the xbox... yes, i'm ok with that, bc a lot of prisoners will be back on the streets. They should not be threated as less than humans, bc this would put us (society) as perpetrators too. Yes I think they could’ve gotten the conviction without Rickys testimony because they still had his confession. Along with lots of other evidence. But it definitely helped a lot to have a plea deal in case Ricky gets cold feet. However. One year was an absolutely insane agreement. Life with the possibility of parole makes sense. He not only made it possible in a very elaborate plot once but twice.
I think Doug could see VERY clearly that Ricky was the type to be easily manipulated. He was so much younger than Doug, very clearly naive and conveniently of a similar build. Ricky was as stupid as Doug had hoped he would be. And no I don't think prisoners should play video games. I actually feel like it would cause fights in the prison. As someone who has 1 brother that has spent years on and off in jail and 1 that has spent more of his adult life in jail or prison than not, they absolutely should not have an Xbox nor get married while incarcerated. The 1 that has spent most of his adult life in prison has never been in because of a violent crime and usually is in because he doesn't go visit his probation officer. It breaks my Moms' heart every single time. I keep trying to tell her that he obviously wants to be there. 3 hots and a cot. I don't think he knows how to live on the outside.

Nah you’re right. I’m guessing that it was the end of his current service and he was considering reenlisting and decided against it. I joined for five years and couldn’t just leave just cause until that five years was up. And I chose not to reenlist for another four.

There is a case that is still happening, a California man named shun Riley came to my town I've grown up in, kelso/longview Washington, for a temporary job, only suppose to be here a month. Went missing may 9th, 2024. His family said they received a call from him the night he went missing but couldn't hear much as he sounded distant, but could hear him say, "go this way, go this way" or something similar. They were worried so had a welfare check on him at the hotel he was staying at. He had left most of his belongings and had left with no shoes. Later he was found dead in our river, the cowlitz river. Nothing is making sense and the family just wants to know what happened and to get the word out. He left behind a wife and beautiful children. Me, my town, and his family and friends would be so appreciative if you could help get the word out. Even if it's not a lot of information and short. Thank you so much for all your hard work with all the cases you have gone over over the years. You're the truly an angel ❤

This is just so incredibly sad and heartbreaking. He was a bum he didn't want to work. He wanted to play video games all the time. He was an abuser so his wife obviously took matters in our own hands to protect herself and her children just to have him murder her period it's absolutely disgusting. My heart goes out to her family. I'm so glad that his sister got the courage to mail that letter after 7 years so that she could reconnect and also see her nieces. She really is the hero in all of this because with her going to see her brother a few times it broke him down enough to actually tell where the body was. I couldn't imagine my child being murdered and then not knowing where my child's body is so I couldn't give him a beautiful going away ceremony. My son is 28 years old and he's a gamer. Not so much anymore but he actually became really really good friends with a couple of people in the gaming community. At the time we lived in Pennsylvania and then we moved to Massachusetts when my son was getting ready to start high school. It turned out one of his gaming buddies lived in Rhode Island so they met up for the first time years ago so they knew each other for like 10 years. But it's so crazy how this young 20 year old college student just went along with something so incredibly dark and brutal for someone he really didn't even know except for online. Yes they met up a couple of times but you still don't really know them and plus there was a huge age difference. I really was happy to hear that even the investigators and police officers that had retired were there when her body was being brought up . I never heard of this case so thank you so much for sharing this story with us
I’m fine with X-boxes in prisons as long as they don’t have internet access or violent games. Have you ever seen the prisons in Norway? Perry swanky. It’s still prison. Prisons could be a little nicer here. Especially since not everyone in prison is a violent criminal. C’mon.

Very sad case. Hope all the family members hurt by his crime can find some peace, especially the daughters :~ . He is not a monster, he is a vile men similar to others, and this is worse in some ways, because feminicide is so prolific in our patriarchal society... this is part of the misogyny that makes men feel entitled to end their wifes lives, to torture, to be abusive... we see this every day in the midia. About the xbox... yes, i'm ok with that, bc a lot of prisoners will be back on the streets. They should not be threated as less than humans, bc this would put us (society) as perpetrators too. So, they should still have human basic rights, like heath, education, dignity etc. I know not everybody agree, but it is my opinion.
Yes I think they could’ve gotten the conviction without Rickys testimony because they still had his confession. Along with lots of other evidence. But it definitely helped a lot to have a plea deal in case Ricky gets cold feet. However. One year was an absolutely insane agreement. Life with the possibility of parole makes sense. He not only made it possible in a very elaborate plot once but twice.
I think Doug could see VERY clearly that Ricky was the type to be easily manipulated. He was so much younger than Doug, very clearly naive and conveniently of a similar build.
Ricky was as stupid as Doug had hoped he would be.
And no I don't think prisoners should play video games. I actually feel like it would cause fights in the prison. Wouldn't take long for controllers to be broken lol
I think prisoners should lose their rights soon as they walk through the doors. It's ridiculous that they can get an education and have access to TV, video games and whatever "fun"things they have to do.
Why do they get a college education free, if they do it on their own. The public has to pay for a college education and go in debt. This stuff is so backwards. The law needs a overhaul.

As someone who has 1 brother that has spent years on and off in jail and 1 that has spent more of his adult life in jail or prison than not, they absolutely should not have an Xbox nor get married while incarcerated. The 1 that has spent most of his adult life in prison has never been in because of a violent crime and usually is in because he doesn't go visit his probation officer. It breaks my Moms' heart every single time. I keep trying to tell her that he obviously wants to be there. 3 hots and a cot. I don't think he knows how to live on the outside.
i think that's pretty common and it seems in a lot of these situations once in the system, it's hard to get out.
