Yeah.. Tony’s statement tells me he didn’t “believe in” mental health issues.
I was born in ‘72 so Erin would be my age today, 51 y/o. This makes me take pause and reflect on how fortunate I am to have lived this long. Slowing down in life and enjoying my 4 y/o Grandson and enjoying family time is something that these stories help me with. This Thanksgiving I will think of Erin and all she could have been in life. I got to be a Daughter, Sister, Mother, Wife, Aunt, Great Aunt, Grandmother and friend to many. I wish Erin had been given these opportunities. ❤
This is a beautiful and touching comment. I’m 41 myself and my daughter is expecting a daughter in March. I will be a grandmother for the first time… I am SO blessed! I have had mental health struggles for most of my life and my heart goes out to any and everyone who struggles with them as well. I SO wish there was more understanding and help for people like me and like Leslie. Our society as a whole has come a long, long way but still has SO much further to go to be able to recognize and help those with mental illness as well as the families of them! All that being said, I, too, will think of Erin(especially) and Leslie and all who have been affected in such horrific ways by mental illness! I’m incredibly thankful for my beautiful life and the people who’ve been there for me at my lowest!❤
@@andreamarksberry345 - I agree 100% about mental health. I have depression and ADHD. Just to be heard and seen when I am struggling is helpful. Congratulations on becoming a Grandmother soon. There is no other feeling like it. It fills my heart with so much love!!! Enjoy the Holidays, if you celebrate. Btw, you are heard, you are seen and you are NOT alone!
@PamelaH_HappyVibes I too am here with both of you beautiful humans.. struggling through my entire life with first my mom's mental illness during my childhood and then the trigger and development of my own as I got older. I'm 49 now and am happy and appreciate the good days I have with my amazing husband.. and coming across your lovely comments today is also appreciated. ❤ I'm not much of a holiday person but I do wish you ladies a wonderful Christmas season
1972...same here🤚🏽 We're grandparents.. it's heavy 💙
@@traci222 - you made my day! I hope you have a wonderful end of year celebration and all of your days are filled with love and cheer!
Anyone else side eyeing Tony and his “tennis” partner?!?! 👀 🤷🏼♀️
👀👀👀
I remember when I was young seeing on mainstream news the Andrea Yates case. What I got from it was this mom was evil , murdered her children and was now trying to pretend to be out of her mind. I never really thought about it after that until a year or so ago when I watched a deep dive on that case. I WAS SHOOK!!!!! I feel so sad for Andrea and her children. Over & over she ask for help and attempted to take her own life. I’m thankful we are learning more about mental illness and are more open to the conversation. These cases are so sad. Thank you for covering this one so well and with so much compassion.
It's devastating hey 😢
Just popped on to say I love the way you cover cases! You focus on the victims and have such respect for them! You should be proud of all you have accomplished!
Good Morning fellow Bratts!! Hope all is well on this Monday Morning 😊 the timing couldn’t be more perfect for me to get a notification from here omw from Daytona to Jacksonville! (Home) and I’m the passenger this time lol So Thank you Ma’am!! You’re the best ❤
Britt , these last 2 videos have been some of ( for me) your best. I’m a long time subscriber and love your content. I did not know the details of either of these cases. I knew Ronald Reagan had been shot but really that’s all. I’m glad you made Leslie and Erin’s case a separate video. Though mental health is talked about more now , than it was but it’s still often not taken serious enough. I think many people still think it’s someone “ being dramatic “ or “ they should just pull their self together “ like it’s not a real illness. I’m thankful we are moving in the right direction but I think talking about cases like Leslie’s will help us all in the future.
Love to all.
She was found mentally insane so overwhelmingly, that I don’t have doubt in that finding. I also don’t doubt that no punishment could be worse than what she herself is dealing with in her mind. But she still took a life. These cases are hard.
I’ve never felt so understood until now. I haven’t cried as much as I have. Thank you
You just never know what goes on behind closed doors and mental illness is horrible
Wow! Thank you for covering Leslie's story! Very well researched! We appreciate you!!
Perfect Birthday morning 😊coffee and your video Thank you❣️❣️
Happy Birthday 🥳
Happy Birthday to you!🧁
❤️Thank you❤️❤️
Happy birthday!!
I've definitely seen almost every video! I think you should do a story on Timothy Buss in kankakee, il. When I was about 3 my mom went on a 2 dates with a man and he asked her to bring me to meet his family at a big party they were having. She thought it was too soon and declined. Turned out it was a welcome home from prison party for his brother Tim who shortly after murdered another child. Always blows my mind to think how close I was to meeting such a vile human
You are seriously the most consistent thing in my life and you have been for a long time. Your videos got me through some very hard times over the past year and a half while leaving an abusive husband. You rock! Don’t ever change 🤘🏼❤️
Yes we watch every single video! You are one of the most consistent and thoughtful true crime content creators out in these TH-cam streets! It has been 🤌🏻 a pleasure. Also, the final quote about Leslie’s sanity being her ultimate punishment….like damn, that’s thought-provoking
PPD is no joke. That shit really messes with your mind. I went 3 months before I HAD to get on meds. I hated being a mom until then.
Good morning from WI!
Thank you for being so you in the way you tell stories. I thoroughly enjoy the fact that you have your little word blips and keep them in... definitely makes you seem more real.
Keep doing what you do!
You're such a good storyteller. I'm amazed with all the info you got to tell this to us. And your skills at editing are superb. It doesn't go unnoticed.
I definitely watch every video that you post. I love the way you humanize these cases. I do believe that sanity was her true punishment. No amount of jail time could bring her daughter back to her.
I 100% agree with you. It's something she will have to live with for the rest of her life. That is worse than any prison sentence.
This story is so sad and shocking and I can't believe that I've never heard of it with the massive amount of true crime content that I consume. I think it's clear that Leslie was struggling mentally and I don't think at all that should would have done something like this if she was of sound mind. I believe that she absolutely intended to take her own life as well and it just so happened that she lived. I believe that she loved her daughter and when she committed this crime she actually believed that she was saving her daughter. I've never said anything like this about a person who has killed a child but I don't believe that jail time would have done her any good at all because she was mentally ill. And wow, a nurse in a mental health facility calling one of the patients a child killer might just be the most unprofessional thing I've ever heard that a medical professional has done. The quote you read about Leslie's sanity being the worst punishment gave me goosebumps because it's absolutely so true.
I love how you cover cases I watch all of your videos. I feel she should never have been taken off her medication and it’s unfair to her and I think her sanity is her punishment so sad x
You’re right not to share details of your mental health - because no matter how often people insist your mental health is a priority, it never really is and sometimes the ones you think you can trust are the ones who will use it against you. And it sticks. You can never really put it behind you and it feels like people are always side eyeing you, waiting for you to do or say something crazy.
Consistency QUEEN!!
I have loved watching your channel grow & your videos become better & better! Thank you for your hard work!
What a great wake up! Coffee and Brit add a dab of crime makes me a great day! Have a wonderful day
WOW! What a story! You did a great job with it! I think, for one of the very few times, the justice system did the right thing. I don’t there was evil in her heart. She was suffering in silence which too many in the upper crust have to do bc it’s all about image.
Excellent job! (Ignore the negative comment below about your pronunciations! You are a human and I love seeing that you have flaws like the rest of us! You ARE PERFECT!)
I watch every single video and sometimes I rewatch them.
Good morning Brit! Always start off my Mondays great and sometimes somber even. My oldest daughter is 9 and my youngest daughter is 5. I could never imagine doing anything to ever hurt them so gonna brace myself for this. Was hoping you’d cover this case too because although I’ve heard of last weeks case MANY times from many creators I had never heard of Leslie and her story
I found you on Facebook and I went through and watched every one of your videos and watch every week even if I've already heard the case because I love the way you tell the story and you can tell you've read all the things because there's usually a few things Ive never heard. You are definitely one of my favorite TH-camrs, very underrated.
My nine year old is currently writing a story while I’m listening to this video. It’s about a killer dentist who collects his victims teeth.. this kid has had absolutely to trauma and it’s not Halloween 😂
Britt...you are so brilliant, in a unique beautifully real way. You are clearly compassionate and completely caring. I love your videos, i love the backdrop, i love that you choose not to edit fumbles.. i watch so much true crime, but you Britt, are TIGHT! You are fantastic! Charlie is most fortunate, to have you as his mama.. the fact that you have never missed a week, through having a child and all that life throws your (our) way! I watch all of your videos, i am hooked! You rock Britt! Thank you, for being you... i only hope you read the comments below, so that you see what you mean to your fans! Love ya girl!
Wow, I had never heard of this case. I am about 8 years older than Erin was, and was raised in the same type of neighborhood. I look back now and see how several of the moms in our neighborhood suffered from postpartum depression and other mental illnesses that were never discussed except by rumors etc. One mom in particular would be in bed for days, and then manic for days. It was frightening because we didn’t understand why. My mom and the other moms in the neighborhood looked out for her as best as they could, but it was never discussed in front of us kids. Thankfully we have come a long way in recognizing and treating mental health issues.
I came to watch this video thinking I would absolutely despise this woman. However, if I’m being honest I feel terrible in a sense for her, she clearly needed more help. It’s no excuse, but I can understand where she’s coming from a little, so this was an interesting story to hear to say the least. You did another phenomenal job as usual and I just have to tell you you bring me such comfort. Sometimes I listen to the stories and obviously people put themselves in the role of family members etc. and I can only hope that if God forbid anything ever happened in my story needed to be told it would be by someone with the compassion and the bit of humor you do bring to it by Just being yourself, you do amazing work and I hope you know we truly appreciate it
I watch them all… currently in nursing school, so I binge when I can. Love the dark background for the fact that it’s not too bright
You always do such a wonderful job explaining tragic events. I'm on the fence about how long she spent in the psych hospital. It's just sad... have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
I adore a fellow consistency gal; I've uploaded a weekly wrap up of everything I've read, watched, and listened to for nearly 7 years and never missed a week either :)
Hi Britt, you are such a brilliant true crime reporter. Wish you rapid growth and global expansion of your channel in the months ahead! You deserve a huge number of supporters.
I love the fact that you don’t edit the times you stumble over your words. 😂
Wording words in a way that makes sense is hard. 😂❤
My Nana had post natal depression which lead to schizoaffective disorder. I inherited this illness from her. She died when I was six. I hope she is at peace
This is a really sad case! And all because of poor mental health and the lack of acknowledgment and care for that mental health. We still fail at this even today! 40+ years later. I'm so sorry for this family and the friends impacted by this. The sentence is absolutely insane! It tells us just how much they (professionals/Dr.) did not know!!! Ugh😢
Greeting britt, greetings brit brat pack. All the love sent from N.Ireland
Hope everyone is well?
Now deep dive time, totally here for it x
I hope you are well!
@BRATTERSTEIN yes I really am and thank you, in New York atm which is lit a dream come true so life is good. Sending you, hubster and lil Charlie bear so much love x
I always get excited to see a video but then instantly sad when I don't hear the full chant of the one of us of us one of us 😢
Mental health care & medication was so bad in the 80's. Poor Erin😭
I watch almost all videos, there's a few with Itty bitty babies that my heart just can't take. But I watch the others more than once sometimes 😅
Such a sad story 😢mental illness is so incredibly painful to deal with and to see someone suffering from it. Mental illness is a passion of mine to bring awareness too. This story is just one example of why people need to become more aware of.
On a happier note, I found you over a year ago when you did your makeup at the same time, since I found you, I have binged your channel and I have never missed one going forward. Every Monday morning I do my make for work watching your upload. Have a fantastic week and Happy Thanksgiving 🎉
Best believe I watch every single video you drop. You’re amazing ❤
I wanted to hear about this after last week! Thanks for covering it.
I watch all your videos. They have become a staple in my week! I love the way you cover these cases and I hope you keep making them!
Im really enjoying these cases that i actually haven't seen before on these here youtube streets. Props for the quality work and looks like motherhood is treating you well ❤
I'm in DC..I have bipolar and relate to every bit of Leslie ups and downs..My first pregnancy triggered my depression to increased in 1989. I also have DOD..I'm now 56 ...
Glad to hear another case. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
Love ya girl... happy Monday🖤🔮🪩🪬🩶🤍
I wish you would cover Brandi Matthews or Cassidy Rainwater
I don’t think I’ve ever missed an upload of yours either 😂 so glad you do what you do! ❤
Girrrrl! Yes, life is gonna LIFE & folks are gonna folk.
I watch every video and one reason is because of your research and the way you present it. Love your work. 💞
Thank you Brittany I wanted to hear this so bad after John Hinckley ...great job ! She was obviously so mentally ill be it inherited or other but she needed med and Hospitalization not jail time....true mental is so sad ...I watch every video you do and binge watch them over and over ...you rock !!
♥️
Gooodd mornting y’all I definitely do and have watched every single video Bratt Pack Strong 💪🏼 I love it here
This is only the third video of yours I’ve watched, but I’m a fan. Luckily I have plenty to check out in the future! Thanks for the videos 💚
I sit impatiently waiting for the next video. Keep up the good work.
These kind of cases really hurt my heart and I'm one of the ones that watch every video
Omg i laughed so hard when you accidentally said "it was funny" it's not funny but I LOL'd 🤣 I love that you don't edit that stuff out gives so much character 😅I have those same brain glitches sometimes. 😆
Yesss I watch all your awesome videos ! I look forward to them 😊
I watch every video you put out.
Postpartum depression is probably a lot more common than most peoples think because when your body goes through the amount of pain I hate to say it, but no wonder.
I actually re-watch your old videos when waiting for a new upload 😅
Wow this was an amazing story. I honestly came in wanting to hate her but i truly felt sorry for her. Mental illness is a nasty, sneaky monster who can destroy your life before you even recognize its there. I absolutely love your videos and the way you tell these stories. If you struggled with Post-partum depression after your son, i hope you are feeling stronger and if you need support i know many of us would help. You are amazing and i am sure i speak for many of us when i say we appreciate all you do. Thank you. ❤
You have so much grace for this woman, even suffering either mental health myself I have no sympathy for her, it is part of life. I don’t understand how these children killers go on living, defend themselves in courts and blame others if they actually were sorry or sad about their child’s death they would stay locked away. Would I let this monster near my own kids? Would you? NO
I don’t understand how these people get out and allowed near other people’s children, if she was truely suicidal and now living this reality she’d have ended it by now.
She isn't the regular child killer. Her mental health brought her to the point of being delusional and that she is saving her daughters life. She even states in the video how she wrote in her dairy that once they are both dead they would be at the safe place. It's not hard to understand some people's mental health are worse than your own. You're acting as if the most important organ in your body (brain) can not severely malfunction and cause you to do things that you would not do if your brain was working properly. I'll never understand why people even mention they have mental health when clearly they haven't experienced something severe.
Thanks!
I've watched every one of your videos! I kinda miss the makeup but I still love them! Keep chillin not killin!
She has been through enough. I have been where she is without murdering my child though. And its terrifying. Every around her could plainly see she wasn't coping. She has to live with this. That is punishment enough.
A little bit of column A and a little bit of column B.... well said friend 🧡 Great coverage of this case. New subscriber thinks that being mentally ill is not the same as being insane. Many mentally ill are very capable of reaching out for help. The insane cannot and do not. That is why they are classified as insane 😢
I watch every video ma'am!😊 thank you for all you do
This was such a well done video! Glad i happened to stumble upon your channel ❤
Glad to have you here!!
I'm so behind lol I literally just commented on a video you posted 3 months ago. Time to binge
Definitely watch all the videos! ❤️🖤
I watch every one...good job girrrrrl!
When you post, I watch. It's as simple as that. 🤘🏻🖤
Yessiree! I watch every single video! ❤
i watch every video lol ive had to go back bc i just found you not long ago! I love the youtube glow up tho!
I watch all of them, or at least listen to them. Sometimes more than once. It was a good video, the Hinckley one, as is this. I truly hope you keep making these videos and that this channel always has this type of content.
I’m one of the people who watches all of your videos 😊
I watch every video!! You are my favorite ❤
Caribbean is pronounced both ways but it doesn't matter if you're referring to the place or the Disneyland ride. In Southern California, we just do that.
I was a social worker in the UK I was the same with jobs , I think it was being outwardly judged doesn’t really sit with depression and psychosis, I was put on anti psychotics and I know if I were taken off them I would be dead very quickly , just because you feel well doesn’t mean you will remain well without medication
I do listen to all of your videos.
Sooo I'm going to start calling my depression "they" for now on lol thankyou for that gem..love your videos ❤
Love your videos watch them all
Everybody failed that baby after the facts. Y’all give these Murderer’s too much credit. If she wanted to Jill herself that gun was still there. It sounds to me that she was trying to punish her husband for either not divorcing her or for not being able to give him more children. At the end of the day a innocent child lost her life. She should’ve paid for that..
Mamm Every video with enthusiasm mamm!
I watch all your video’s!
My Mom was listed as an "elderly prima gravita" when she was pregnant with me. She was the ripe old age of 33.😊
As a professional nurse who works in Postnatal ward Postpartum depression does exist.
Mental struggles are terrible. If that many people said she was insane then I believe them. I used to be so depressed that I would hallucinate when I was younger. Most terrifying days of my life. Mental health is just as horrible as physical health when its declining. Brittney please cover NORA Quoirin she does not have enough coverage at all! Her case is so strange! Please look into it! 🙏
I fully think that the sentence was the right one… mental illness is real, changes you and is soooo not understood by people who don’t suffer from it.
❤❤❤
Did she know that killing people in US is illegal? Yes. Did she know about consequences for killing people according to US law? Yes. Did she choose to do it anyway? Yes. That’s answer your question if she deserves punishment. I have reasons to think that she killed her daughter to hurt her husband who wouldn’t comply with her demands. His mistake was not divorcing her and taking girl with him. If he would left her and take custody of his daughter girl would be alive today.
i watch all ur video,s i,m watch,n the 255 episodes i lv watch,n thm.... lynda frm dublin ireland ❤
Every. ❤❤❤
I watch every video 🤘🏼❤️
I watch every video ❤
