- Happy Final Fantasy VII Day! As celebration to the 28th anniversary of my all time favorite game, I've put together a special little number for the boss music, and finishing it off with the fanfare too!!
Don't get me started on how much I love this game! In 1999, I was at an after school care center, and I remember the day when one of the staff brought in a brand new PlayStation and a pristine copy of Final Fantasy VII. I was only 7 at the time but I remember this was my first game I fell in love with the moment I watched someone a couple years older than me play the opening hours of the game. Eventually, myself and a bunch of other kids all huddled around the TV every afternoon for a few weeks only getting through the bombing mission, and not progressing much beyond that since there was no memory card! I begged mum for a few years to get the game for me! She accidentally got 6 and 8 before finally getting the right one a 3rd time round in 2002!
I spent probably over a year as an 10/11 year old trying to finish the game. Without strategy guides, the internet to help, or anyone else who played the game to help me, I got stuck for months trying to figure out what to do finding the keystone for the Temple of the Ancients. I instead just grinded til lvl 35, and then finally figured out how to progress and the rest of the game was a little easier being at a higher level. Although I still struggled with the final section, and had a note pad full of pages, writing down what worked and didn't work when fighting Safer Sephiroth! It took me at least 20 times to beat him but when I finally beat the game, I knew I just completed something very special. Years on, I grew to love the Final Fantasy franchise as a whole, but always returned to VII to playing it yearly. Yes, I'm absolutely loving the remake series (I sobbed so much when the announcement trailer dropped in 2015, that was one of the happiest days of my life haha)!
And yes, I will definitely do more Final Fantasy songs in the future!
