A few to name: At The Drive-In, Deftones, Radiohead, Cursive, The Used, Brand New, Glassjaw…. Which is just my personal opinion, but yeah I throw PUP in that category of bands that can seemingly do no wrong and have no songs I straight up don’t like…
Interesting - sounds like this album might be a bit of a departure from the past records. They have a new producer on this album vs the last 3. I like this song though, and Peter Katis produced 2 of my favorite albums of all time (Winter of Mixed Drinks by Frightened Rabbit and Boxer by The National). Curious to see where they go with this. Surprised that Kill Something isn't on the track listing as I absolutely love that song.
I say it’s a little underproduced tbh. I get that the grittiness is supposed to be its charm, but it some of it sounds a bit echo-y and dry (especially the drums). I’d would’ve given it one more pass through the production booth, but that’s just me.
