Archer is an FXX original animated, half-hour comedy. The new season revolves around the international spy turned hardboiled private eye Sterling Archer and his quest to find his partner’s killer in 1947 Los Angeles.
The case proves to be more difficult than expected after Archer quickly gets mixed up in a deadly game of tug of war between Los Angeles' most powerful crime bosses. Every clue leads Archer further away from his goal and deeper into a mystery involving kidnapping, prostitution and drug addiction.
The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the incredibly vain private investigator, “Sterling Archer;” Jessica Walter as the veteran crime boss and nightclub owner, “Mother;” Aisha Tyler as the sexy lounge singer and Archer's crush, “Lana Kane;” Judy Greer as the clueless heiress to a vast publishing fortune, “Charlotte Vandertunt;” Chris Parnell as a crooked detective hell-bent on seeing Archer dead or in jail, “Detective Lieutenant Figgis;” Amber Nash as Figgis' partner and occasional muscle, “Detective Sergeant Poovey;” Adam Reed as the saucy band leader, “Ray Gillette;” and Lucky Yates as the club's bartender/heroin dealer/Nazi scientist, “Krieger.”

Am I the only one who liked Archer Dreamland? The plot was good and they had some pretty good jokes here and there. I liked the fact that they went in a different direction it was feeling stale for a few episodes before that. It was a good season overall, but obviously not the best. I watched all 8 episodes at once.

I'd even take more Archer Vice or even with the detective agency. No more of the fantasy stuff.

It’s not that it was bad, it’s that it’s hard to really get into it with know it’s not real (with respects to the shows universe)
I loved it, but i do miss the spy stuff and get where everyone else is coming from, they should have stopped with dreamland but lets just see how danger island comes out first, it sounds interesting.

Douglas Vasquez well they announced that season 10 would be the last season, and that it would also be a dream sequence. I assume that in the last episode he would wake up, and the series ends.
I really feel like they are just stretching it this time, but I am somewhat interested. Two dream seasons in one coma sitting, that's a new one for the books. Plus, as opposed to Dreamland where Archer was trying to process the reality of his own asshole ways and cope with Woodhouse's death in his own way, maybe THIS time, some element from his dream fantasy will finally tie into some big revelation that will be key for the final season, and be the central focus of an overarching plot that lays all the cards on the table and answers a lot of the questions raised over past seasons... including stuff about his biological father, and whether that individual is still alive.
True, we do know that archer did see his father at least once. Even knew his name, but quickly forgot it do to an interuption. What if this time, he wakes up saying his father's first name atleast, which other around him would recall and keep in mine. :)

That could have easily been a Red Herring. We do not know for sure if the individual she was describing was Archer's father, because in another ep, Archer's poison induced hallucinations ended with the possible reveal of another candidate. Malory might have been doing what she usually does best, and that is Lying, and she runs (used to) a Spy Agency where the biggest asset to any field agent is the ability to deceive. With so many conflicting accounts, it is hard to discern which one has a grain of truth to it. Which in this case, is all of them.

Well technically he had his android propose for him, and possibly marry Lana in his place and help take care of his daughter and her in his absence. Probably as a backup plan in case his original plan didn't work. Though he forgot they can't emote. Other mysteries I would love to see solved, who is archer's father, who is barry's father. Heck for all we know Archer and Barry could be... Half Brothers. xD

Bob L-B dreams go by slow but in real time its only been a week he will wake up most likley in a month they are doing all this dreamland danger island stuff so they have more time to work on when he wakes up

Sterling should awake at the end of season 9 or beginning of season 10 since Archer is only set until season 10. Still hoping for him to propose to Lana when he wakes up.
Archer's inability to wake up from the coma is meant to signify his resistance to change and maturity. While I am anticipating seeing him and Lana maybe getting married and raising AJ together in s10, he is not ready for that yet as a character. He needs to relive and reprocess his past affairs--which is the reason why Cheryl was a much stronger character in s8. He is not ready emotionally to commit to Lana and mature in the capacity that they both desire. I will not be surprised if Katya and the woman in black who committed suicide are in s9 for the purpose of Archer processing his past relationships with women. I join others in their calls for Archer to wake up, but I don't even think the audience is ready for Archer to completely slip into his inevitable commitment to Lana just yet. It would be too easy, and not realistic with the damaged, confused, and narcissistic character the creators developed.
Another thing I found interesting in s8, that I believe will be revisited in s9: it is clear throughout the series that while Malory is manipulative or straight-up cold towards Archer that she does have maternal attachment and love for him. In s8, this seemed to be entirely absent, which I believe is representative of his subconscious fear that his mother solely uses him and doesn't love him (when in reality she does both). Archer's abandonment from his mother as a young child and his dysfunctional freudian relationship with her is an issue I believe he will also process in the next season whilst on Danger Island.

Having watched Danger Island, it's a significant improvement over Dreamland. While I appreciate trying to keep a show fresh, Dreamland lacked the fast-paced banter and dynamics that makes the show so fun. While still a coma season, Danger Island at least has character relationships established and emphasizes the comedic timing and banter over serialized drama (drama isn't inherently bad, but it's just not Archer).
But if Yates is a parrot that means there won't be any Krieger.

Honestly I think Archer has been in a coma this whole time, he's just been in a coma for so long things are getting weirder.
Its the only thing that makes sense. I mean look at his life before this, its perfect; everything always works out for him, how he never gets hurt except for a few cuts and bruises and I guess cancer and coma but still. I think the last season is going to take place in a hospital where Archer is an older man, his mother is dead and Lana is a social worker who came to see him every day to talk to him and read him books. Spy books and he just inserted that into his life and dreams and made his mother out to be a spy master because she was never there, but she was never there because she was out seeing men and his father left because he didn't think he was the real father. Archer fell in love with Lana's voice and as she read the books they took form in his dreams. Now she has moved on to different books and so his dreams have changed. Since she has been coming every day Lana has been growing close with Doctor Cyril (who is Archers Doctor) and they fell in love. The reason he's been in the coma for so long is because another Dr Kreiger (which no one knows but suspect he used to do experiments for the Germans) has been performing experiments on Archer, and he has prolonged Archers coma so he could continue his experiments. And Pam and Cheryle are nurses who give Archer sponge baths and Ray is a Former Olympian who is now a paraplegic trying to be rehabilitated.
Honestly I think he's been in a coma ever sense he got shot by the woman in black from season 1 or two the one who asked "Archer will you be the best that ever was?" and then she shot him.
Or same scenario just in a Mental Ward or outpatient facility.
I think we don't want him to wake up because if he does Lana is Married to Cyril and Archer is once again truly alone like he always feared.
Or he was a spy and we get to see a final showdown with Barry for Kotya's heart either way I think he's going to end up with Katya at least I hope he does. The happy Archer that we've all grown to love, honestly I don't think he ever was that Archer. Still though thats my favorite Archer, from the first 4 seasons, thats the archer I'll always remember.
