For those who don't know the scale of these ships, a full game level could be held on each one of those ships. You can get lost in them. The "Smaller" ship (The Idris) needs a few dozen players to crew it.
Man.. I just started playing the 16th of April, and I love this game. It's beautiful, I love the ships. Some ships I'm not fond of piloting, but they LOOK amazing.
@@UncleFester84 don't be too disappointed, it actually took a very long time for the Javelin to kill them. Over 90 minutes for both of them. The Idris lasted longer than I thought it would against hose massive turrets.
@@retrowrath9374 No, but lately the Idris has become the Worf (from star trek tng) of Star Citizen: strong on paper but actually a punching bag for the sole purpose of showing how powerful another ship is.
Javelin likes to get pretty close. Also, seems like an Idris exploding should show up on folks' scans or star maps from quite a ways away, inviting scavengers and salvagers to show up and loot whatever stuff might be aboard or even salvage the vessel.
@@mostlyshenanigans It might, or might compliment it as well. We might have more than one way to get similar information. The risk of diminishing the value of the data-running gameplay loop increases in proportion with the scope and duration of the signal. For instance, a signal could pop for a short period of time, and within a specific area (say, something less than system-wide). Doing so could invite a player to explore the location and identify the coordinates necessary to generate a beacon that could be sold to other folks. The goal of the signal pop would be to get "enough" players attention to draw some to the location, without making it accessible to "all" players in the system. Another possibility could be to somehow access the information from hacked comm arrays (assuming that a comm array is somehow able to record the location of ships blowing up within a certain range, and the information can be made available to players via a hacking and data transmittal mechanic or something. So there is a possibility of minimizing data running, but I think it's possible to have the two systems work together without devouring each other.
how much scrap and rmc does a idris make? half the destroyers firepower isnt being used or those idris would gone a lot faster, but the javelin took about 8 railgun shots thats pretty good wonder what that repair bill was lol
It was over 14 or 15 hits of the railgun in the end. Didn't leave a dent. Whole fight went for a long time so had to cut it down. Didn't even think of salvaging them 😅
Man.... this is the game I pledged for.... right here. 1 dude probably flying that thing with an ai crew. This is what I wanted, big space battles with big ships. Not sea of thieves in space. To heck with the direction they are trying to push right now where you need tons of friends just to pilot your ship, I was sold on the idea ai crew would let me achieve basic missions. I didn't sign up for all this forced multi crew nonsense.
Kinda sucks how tanky everything is. It just doesn't sell "these are giant deadly cannons" when they don't really seem to do much damage and you can tank a thousand hits from them.
The weapons and damage model for these ships haven't been decided yet I believe. These are pretty much placeholder versions of the ships, which aren't supposed to be used yet.
I'm already getting clone wars venator vibes
It's not a battle if bullets only go one way...
watch the second fight pal
this videos music is perfect, the moment you see the javelin just tank the railguns shots like a beast is when you know this is over

Wow that that was wonderful to see.😮 and man the idris is one heck of a ship.. that cannon raited E for everyone 😂.

A glimpse into the future of Star Citizen?
Don't let Idris owners hear you say that 😅
Idris owner here and yes, j veel very much let down

AI needs to back up a bit and the Jav should be broadsiding :P but still looks really cool! :)
Thx só much to share it
surprisingly peaceful

That may take away a bit from a future gameplay loop where players can sell coordinates to stuff like that.

Man I wanna see a fleet take on a javelin
How many Rail gun hits did that Javelin take in the second battle?! zero F's given and not a scratch lol! Definitely my next purchase 😀
around 14 or 15 before the railgun was disabled
Yeah, don't think that this balancing is anywhere close to final lol.
What happened to the broadside batteries of the javelin?
Just unfinished model of the Javelin I'd say
Bug, happens a lot in-game when you see the javelin at the fleet week and/or XT events. Sometimes they are there, sometimes they aren't.
its crazy that it's actually missing half of its armament atm
Looking forward to seeing it at full force
Where did the Javelin come from? A Xenothreat test?
Random spawn this one. Not sure if it's a Xenothreat model or an Invictus one etc
why they are fighting?
Random spawns. One hostile, one friendly. The Starfarer I guess just wanted to shoot anything moving
Where can I find Javelin in EPTU 3.23?
they seem to be spawning sometimes randomly at some mission locations

It's hard to balance when players are going to be able to control both, neither side will want to get 1 or 2 shot.

So is a huge capital ship supposed to be easily blown up? because that would be even more ridiculous
