Add comment from grandpa in Texas. I keep my line to 20 feet, more sometimes is more fiddley to wind and feed. - more so with the 105 thicker line. I usually cut with a small and old pair of wire cutters. This can give me a ragged end on the cut. If it does not feed through right away I recut one end with a sharp utility/stanly blade on my plastic tool box, a wood block, or the top edge of the plastic trash can. The clean cut end feeds right through assuming the arrow is lined up. Finally store your line in a bucket or tupperware under water - even newly purchased spools. Hidden in the Stihl help comments they repeat this a lot. It keeps the line flexible and longer lasting when “working”. Sorry no answer for that partial spool left over from last time….

15 foot? Who told you that? I have been loading mine with 25 foot since the specs from Stihl say 8M. Is there a reason you are doing this or are you just maladjusted and misinformed?
@@jamison74 glad that is working for you. Yeah with 15 feet loaded I have experienced less chance of line getting stuck. Have a great day!
