Agree about "eating less"! And I found even cooking feels better when I'm near the end of my provisions … because I have to ration and be inventive. Art is choosing a limited set of tools and exploring their possibilities; so cooking with few leftovers and ingredients is a form of art …

I can't help but think if you lose Margarida that someday you will look back with great sadness. You seem genuinely happy together and your happy times are contagious. Granted we only see a small portion of your life but there is more to life than just sailing. Nothing matters without someone to share it with. Some serious soul searching and a little therapy would be in order. I sense some baggage. All the best to you both, however you end up.

Of course we all want them to stick together, and for Margarida to be able to sort her diving issue with her ear, and the seasickness, and having the boat finished enough to bring on her friends. All a challenge to strike a balance, and not just for this couple. Few things in life are as undervalued as hunger. Hunger motivates us, hunger inspires us, hunger keeps our attention sharp and our complacency and malignancy at bey. Fear programing has people afraid to miss a meal even though it takes months to die of starvation. Plukky hits the nail on the head "You are your own experiment!" At least you are if your THINKING FOR YOURSELF. Knowledge and "validation" only come through experience, so, If you aren't your own experiment, your someone elses fool. With the enormous change that the pandemic has brought to my every day way of life, sadly I have not fasted in a very long time. Most grocery stores are laid out with fresh produce, meat, dairy on the perimeter and canned, frozen, processed foods in the inner aisles. My trips to the stores have long been circuits confined to the perimeter. It costs less, is more nutritious, and more healthy. Plus I am out of the store in about 20 minutes. I don't shop every day, more like once in two weeks. Having a garden also helps. You may not save money over store bought but you'll be happier and healthy.

Very sad to see, definitely shows this lady in a different light now. When married one sticks together in good and bad times. Both sides have to give to make relationships work. She surely knew from the very beginning what he was all about because he was always on the move and seeking adventures, and she must have liked the idea. I guess he wants to keep doing what he likes and she wants to do something else. Do not be unequally yoked.

I do not think any of the women crew people whom Peter had would be interested in living forever on a sailboat. However, I do NOT know how Peter would like to live his life if he could get a few dollars ahead. Would he or would he not like to live part of his life having friends either ashore or in ports? Other sailing people get to ports where other people are, have some friendships, trade work, and play or travel in small groups. Is always being poor forcing Petr to go back out to sea?

@@pavichapin I noticed that, as Peter was sailing the coast of Australia he was looking for a wife. When he had those woman crew members, he stayed out in the wilderness of islands, sea and and sailboat. He had an excellent method of finding and surveying women, but I do not know if he had a plan of making a life that included occasional mixing with society and the world that included shore people. Many women could love a live of travel and advenure, but they would want some shore life and to live with other people and to pursue interests other than simply sailing, repairing boats, and subsisence living.
-- Why did Peter's first wife and children break away from him? Was he back then also bypassing the rest of life so that he could spend his life pursuing subsisence living? Another thought: Isn't a woman going to wonder about accumulating savings for old age, medical bills and retirement?
-- I do not wish on him the fat and happy life that some other sailing video people have, but I think Peter's life is a little too narrow, too monochromatic.

Hey Peter and Margarita. You both had your time together with many adventures along the way! I like to think of this like a favorite movie of mine. Benjamin Button. In one of the scenes he told Daisy about his short affair with the lady at the Russian hotel, " It ran its course". It could be that your relationship on the sailboat rans its course. Since it appears that you, Peter, intends to continue sailing the world and you, Margarita , plans to go land side that this relationship has come to a fork in the road. it doesn't mean you should be strangers or be mean to each other. It means that you both are moving on to another branch/path in your lives and you can't stay together for this to happen. Hopefully you both thank each other for the time together and move forward knowing you looked out for each other during this part of your lives. Best of luck to both of you. I look forward to more adventures from both of you in your new chosen directions. Life goes on. Live well and prosper!

It will be what will be Pete, I hope the time apart gives you both a break. Its totally understandable Margarida wants some girl time and a break from the boat. After all, with all the Covid stuff going on and having to hide out at sea for long periods of time it would be enough to send anyone nuts. Hopefully everything turns out good, but if not then it was never meant to be. By the way i have lost 10kg doing pretty much what you were saying. Cheers Pete

I think the eating rant is spot on. Before you can healthily listen to your body, though, you need to get rid of some nasty habits like eating till you're stuffed. While the body is used to that, it will ask for that. Once you get used to eating just enough, your body will let you know how much is too much. You don't need to stop eating while still hungry then. You'll be more than satisfied and yet agile instead the bloated. Eating habits are one of the quickest ways to improve life pretty much immediately. That and chilling out with social media abuse (and watching TV and following the news - live your own life!). Have fun in life people! We'll all be gone soon enough.

Hey Plucky Its a true story that we eat too much. I ballooned to 140kgs after a back injury and opted to have a gastric sleeve operation. My stomach became 1/8th the size. now I eat very small meals (2 and a half year later) and have dropped 40 kgs. Blood pressure came down dramatically and now at 96 kgs I eat so little it is scary.. However I have more energy, Im never hungry-ish but on small meals I sustain a more active 100kg guy than a larger meal eating female who weighs 60 kgs... So basically we are eating too much.

Yes! You’re so right about eating, but... you have to be in good enough shape to “know” your body, right? When you only eat when you’re hungry it makes you even think better and faster. I ate no meat at all for ten years and felt my best then, more streamlined I guess. Meat makes me feel slow and sluggish, always! Great advice!!♥️

So the question is who do you love more the Sea or the Girl.
I could see a long time ago that your Girl wasn't into this life style. She loves the ocean as long as she can stay on land and play on the beach ⛱. But this life isn't for everyone.
Trust me I know how it feels. For me my love for my wife was greater, But the Sea calls to me everyday. So I gave up my boat 🚢 for my wife and moved to the Big island 🏝of Hawaii 🏝. So I could have both. So with that I wish you both Good luck and until next time ⏲️

Good morning Captain Bill, I have similar plans to you. Want to buy land around Pahoa, curious where you chose. My wife of 25 years and I are thinking divorce. My dream is 2+ years blue water sailing, she said she is willing to go sailing with me and our 4 kids, not sure if she will be able to handle the tight quarters and energetic son...kids 7,8,17,20...I'm hoping we sail a couple years, homeschool, and work good together without all the chaos of country life and appointments...then buy land, build a small house and raise animals and some veges..take tourists hunting, fishing, and diving in Hawaii...any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@@markgarry7866 Good morning! I got my boat 🚢back in 1995. Had her for over 5 years. My boat was a 42 foot aft cabin motor yawt. And it was just fine for the two of us. And to have friends and family on bord. But after a few years it wast for my wife.
Now you said you have a wife and 4 kids? You are going to need to get a BIG 🚢! One thats is going to be some big bucks.
Now back in 1995 I paid a bit over 250,000.00 for my boat. So i believe you are going to need a catamaran and there not cheep.
So you may want to do what have done now.
I sold the boat. It was a very sad 😥 day for me. And I got to work on a plan where i could keep my wife (and Happy) and I could still have the sea at the same time. Thats why we moved to the Big island 🏝 of Hawaii 🏝. That way she is happy and i am happy.
Where we are on the Island is called Ocean View. You can get land here from 3k to 12 k an ac.
You can build any way you like. And for us our taxes on our home here is 200 bucks a year. And we have a million dollar View. We are 50 miles south of Kona and 75 miles from Hilo. I believe you would be happy here with the kids having a ton of stuff to here. Fish, diving, surfing, and much much more.
      I hope this helps.
P.s. And my wife and if have ben together now for 40 years.

Hope you guys can sort yourselves, sending you good wishes. Really good advice at the end about eating, one big benefit is blood pressure will surely go down, so if you are on blood pressure or diabetes meds, it's best to check with someone before you do this and fall over. A lot of people get off meds doing this. Also, we haven't spent 2.5m years (million that is) living on deer rabbit meat veg that grows above ground chicken birds eggs fish nuts and berries, and then suddenly be able to eat so much sugar. A bowl of sweet wheat cereal, toast with jam, sugar in your coffee in the morning will be the end of us. Sugar is the killer. Either way you guys look so well living on fish, mostly :-) Good luck
