This is a TAS of the game Cactus McCoy and the Curse of Thorns in libTAS (thanks to the emulator Ruffle) on a virtual machine. I am the creator of this TAS and it took me quite some time to make. This run is made up of different segments that have been spliced together in a video-editing software (due to this there are some mistakes in the run). Please enjoy!

Here are some explanations on specific parts of the video:
1. Why did you get the badge "Resourceful", even though you haven't used 10 weapons in this run? (11:55)
This is a mistake on my part. Due to this run being spliced, the game has been tracking the amount of different weapon kills on segments that didn't make the final cut into this run. It doesn't matter too much though, since I didn't use any money from that point.
2. Why are the first two levels in poor quality compared to the other ones?
This is another mistake on my part. Because I was doing this TAS on a Linux virtual machine I was unable to use these files on Windows via directly sending them. For some reason, the first two levels wouldn't open in Sony Vegas, so I had to send them from another source, which had worse video quality.
3. How are you punching so fast? (e.g. 1:15 ; 7:10 ; 19:09)
This is a trick known by the community as "Machine Punching". You can cancel your punching/attacking animation by turning the opposite direction, after which you can quickly turn back around and do another attack. The TAS turns and punches every frame and it looks ridiculous.
4. Why are you juggling this enemy 10 times with 4 different weapons? (1:18)
This is in order to get badges "Juggler Apprentice" & "Swap and Juggle" respectively. They make us earn enough money to get punching 4 and swinging 4 upgrades, which makes our attacks much stronger.
5. Why are you seemingly punching enemies for no reason? (e.g. 6:35 ; 16:37)
I try to manipulate the RNG that way, changing the enemies' behaviour. This is the only way I know to manipulate the RNG and it only loses a little bit of time.
6. How are you able to go through this crusher/fire? (e.g. 9:01 ; 17:52 ; 14:40 ; 17:30)
There are some easy setups to consistently go through the first crusher in level 7. As far as the other ones go? I have no idea. I just throw myself at them until I get lucky.
7. What the hell is this trick in level 5? (6:38)
This is the Gorge Skip. It is performed by cancelling the boulder throwing animation by getting hit, which places the boulder hitbox into a wall. This lets you jump on it and skip the Gorge room, which saves a lot of time. This trick was discovered by raynet0 with the help of ZeroGrave.
8. What the hell is this trick in level 6? (8:32)
This is the Level 6 Boss Skip. By throwing the suitcase precisely onto the ceiling, you can clip it inside. Thanks to that, you can jump on it (when it clipped into the ceiling, the game considered it to be touching the ground, so you can jump on it), while it's falling down. The suitcase bounces on the ground, which clips McCoy into the ceiling and you can jump to fully go outside skipping the boss fight. This trick was discovered by raynet0.
9. What the hell is this trick in level 7? (10:06)
This is the Level 7 Boss Skip. You can do it by dropping the box (using the "d" key by default) near a wall, while doing the turnaround animation on the ground. This hopefully leaves the box in the wall, which you can jump on skipping the boss fight. This trick was discovered by Ittapubas (that's me!).
10. Why are you rapidly punching/crouching for no reason? (e.g. 17:04)
This is just for fun. I only do this when I have to wait for something, it's just for showing off.
And that's it! If you have any other questions, ask me in the comments or on the Cactus McCoy Speedruns Discord server (link above). I hope you have a nice day!
never thought this would be real! amazing...
