I can't imagine that after 35 years of doing electronics project this is the first time I will create a pcb from schematic using software. There is never too late to learn new things. Thanks TCTEC for this video it makes me so fulfilled and dream come true.

Dude, you really made it sound simpel. I watched this video 4 weeks ago. Ordered my first PCB 2,5 weeks ago. Received and soldered it 1 day ago. WTH, I'm actually designing PCB's now...

That was brilliant!! I'm struggling to get Eagle to do anything useful, but with this guide and about 30 minutes playing around in DipTrace, I have my schematic done, pcb design done and output files generated!! Thanks so much for putting this together!

The presentation of this video is excellent .Clear and concise. Important for beginners is that he is using black components on a white background ( color options found in view, colors selection.) So many of these videos on DIptrace are demonstrated on a black board with component colors that almost blend in making the schematic very hard to see especially for new users. The difficult part is patience locating the components with such a vast inventory. Again, perfect presentation

    SIR
SUB:--PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD DESIGN BEGINNER. STEP BY STEP
Watched yr above video and going to watch again. In the process of learning the LAYOUT MAKING FOR PCBS/MLBS, i had been thro many videos that are available on the net..Amongst all of them, i liked yrs is the BEST and REMARKABLE one which is praise worthy. THANKS to you for teaching this to me.
While many other videos BEAT ROUND THE BUSH WITH NO ENDING, in contrast your simpler explanation and video technique directly took me to the real/practical area without wasting even a second. Yr video is praise worthy for the following:
    1. clear display even on my small mobile screen.
    2. clear audible voice and pronounciation, easier to grasp.
    3. You spoke in such a right speed, slow and steady, enable even a new comer to grasp without a doubt.
    4. Video production technique and camera angle are rightfully/successfully chosen.
    5. Yr giving information on DOWN LOADING THE FREE SOFTWARE is of immense help to me
    T H A N K S.
I subscribed to yr channel which is worthy. Please do a video on special LATEST SOFTWARE LIKE ORCAD, if possible and share the video for enthusiasts in the field. Dont forget to post as i am suscribed to yr channel The reason why i suggested ORCAD is due to the fact that the employers/companies asks whether the candidate is conversent with it or not, before offering a job in PCB/MLB layout making atea. I hope you will understand the reason of my asking for it.
    THANKING YOU ONCE AGAIN.
    Srivatsa INDIA.

great guide..covers a lot, without putting a glass eye to sleep 80) thanks for doing this.
just a couple of points though; but be careful using custom colours for the schematic..if you ever print them using a mono printer you may find some almost dissapear! and be careful your custom track widths aren't wider than the pads they end on; otherwise when they are soldered, the solder may be draw away from the pad along the trace, instead of flowing in the desired direction, around the components pins.

Hi Vijay, I cannot comment on Orcad because I have not used it. The Freeware version of Diptrace is free forever, it is limited to: 2 layers and 300 pins and Not-profit use only. Also The full licenced versions are not very expensive I believe.

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm a newbie. This is tougher than it looks. I got a circuit with 17 components and it comes out as a real spider web in the pcb layout. I cannot see how routes will not cross over each other no matter how I arrange the components. It's a maze. Lol. Any tips for pcb layouts with more components?

    • @tctec1129
      @tctec1129  2 ปีที่แล้ว

If it can't work out on 2 layers you may need to go to 4 layers. but either way: use vias to go over or under tracks. Tend for vertical tracks on one layer and horizontal on the other. Wire the power and ground ptracks first. Leave more space around the components with most pins. Use 'Verification->check design rules' to highlight problems.

The components are usually on 'top' so gravity can keep them in place when they go through the oven or solder- wave . Ground can be anywhere, but often ends up on the bottom.
